Luger and Flair were already big stars in WCW before going to WWF (both world champs for starts), and don't forget Sting (never went to WWF).

Also, don't forget how DDP, Goldberg, The Giant/Big Show, Vader, the Steiner Brothers, Sycho Sid Vicious & Mick Foley were all big in WCW before crossing over to WWF.

Plus, remember that Austin, Brian Pillman, Dustin Rhodes, Hall & Nash truly began their careers in WCW aswell.

There were many WWF stars who came to WCW and vice-versa...

The WWF (WWE) and WCW used Hulk Hogan to bring their brand of wrestling to new heights. The WWF made Hogan a household name but Hogan himself raised the bar for all of wrestling in general. Vince was the brains and Hogan was the brawns. So in other words WCW and all other wrestling road the success of Vince and Hogan's creation. And profited.

Hogan was a joke in WCW. Don't get me wrong in WWF hulkamania was the strongest force in the universe, but the WCW was an embarassment to his career. He must have known it to...hence the heel turn.
