@EmmaVal I think everytime we have Indian food here I always make this as a choice. Just wings, legs or the entire chicken goes great as a side or main course. I have enjoyed this recipe prepared in the oven, BBQ and in a friend's Tandoori oven a few times (I have to get one some day). Quite tasty indeed. Worth the effort.
QUESTION: Is it a good idea or a bad idea to poke holes in your meat (chicken, steak, whatever) before putting it in a ziplock bag and marinating it? I don't know if this helps to better penatrate the food with the marinade, or actually is harmful cuz it will dry the food out and make it less juicy when you cook it. What do you think?
@PunisherPlaythroughs Perhaps more tougher cuts of beef but I do not with chicken. The flesh of chicken is soft enough and the marinade will get in there over a few hours. cheers, KtC
@MrAbid5 Hello. It is a nice combo of ingredients. I prepare most of the dry seasoning in bulk so it is ready to use when desired (a bit less work come prep. time). We enjoy it regularly on the BBQ too. If I could just get a Tandoori oven :)
@petro905 I agree on all counts. I have found asupplier of small home kitchen models. Pricey. Perhaps in the future for me. mmmm Indian food heaven :)
@petmycatwiththose Hello! Thank you. I enjoy all videos but I thought something quick with the basics was needed for those with not much time. I will check your channel too. cheers, KtC
@yesitsvish Everything is better on the BBQ. However, I really enjoy this recipe prepared in the oven. An authentic Tandoori oven would be perfect. I am happy you decided to try it! KtC
@fardisghomeshi try *** 1/2 tsp. cardamom and 1 tsp. for other seasoning, perhaps more peppers to 'taste'. 2 tbsp. for ginger, garlic and lemon. 1 cup of yogurt. Fresh seeds/pods can be toasted a bit first and then ground (sometimes I do sometimes I do not).
@fardisghomeshi 'Methi' (Pakistan) also know as Fenugreek (a seed) can be found in some tandoori recipes. However, not the ones I am familar with that are traditional. Nonetheless, it certainly adds a bit more flavour (nutty fragrance). Wouldn't hurt to add a bit ground up to the rub. I use it frequently in other similar recipes. cheers! KtC
@drrifat I use whatever I have. This is typical though for me. A simple baking rack over foil on a baking sheet. Regardless of what is used I recommend in most cases the meat is not sitting on the bottom of pan (the rack raises it up a bit so it cooks evenly under neath too). cheers! KtC
I would not use food colouring. The natural colour will come from the paprika and turmeric. Thanks a bunch, I always appreciate the comments and other folks thoughts. All the best, KtC
I didn't mean to correct your spelling, I wanted to make sure I had the rite spice is all. 1.75 POWDER OUNCES FOR $12! Need to quit my job and harvest cardamom!!!
Thank you again, for making me look like a 5 star chief!!!!
a couple of strands would not add much to the taste (perhaps change the colour a bit). I like saffron (my wallet doesn't), I have a few recipes using it. KtC
Great chicken dish and without the Tandoori oven is pretty close to the real deal. A lot of ingredients, but as suggested just mix the dry and keep handy for when you want to prepare. Thank you very much for the nice comment. I appreciate it. cheers! KtC
I love this. Yep, a lot of seasoning but prepare the seasoning and then go for it! Make extra seasoning and then it is ready next time! Have a great day! KtC
Funny my experience in my age group is that it is the women who can't cook. I went to Culinary school and most of the students there were men. Not trying to insult but that is what I have seen.
I tend to use dry red chili peppers. You could use other peppers (dried). I grow many types (summer) and dry out a few and use them when I can. Otherwise I buy dried red chili peppers. KtC
Well that's no fun :) I have never tried it. Although I have had others. Give it a go and use it instead of the rub. I would still add the ginger, garlic and other stuff. Perhaps a bit of dry chili peppers or cayenne (if the package mix is not spicy enough). Let me know. cheers! KtC
no not really. however, you may want to look at the 'Garam Masala 213' as quick tasty stove top dish. This chicken is best in an oven or indirect BBQ. A tandoori oven would be great. thank you! KtC
This is really good and I continue to make it frequently. **use 1/2 tsp. cardamon and 1 tsp. for other seasoning, perhaps more peppers to 'taste'. 2 tbsp. for ginger, garlic and lemon. 1 cup of yogurt.
Looks bloody delicious!
Thank you...XXX

I’m not religious in any way shape or form.
But I am convinced if there were such a place as heaven, there is no question that the Gods would insist that Lunch and Supper be Indian buffet! ;-)
Cheers to you as well and good luck with locating that Tandoor !
