  • I'm going to go use some aluminum cookware right now. BRB.

  • What the article seems to be saying is that advertisers at one time pushed aluminum as great, without warning of any health risks and some studies do indicate that there is a certain small or large, health risk.

  • And what does that have to do with the salvation of people's souls?

  • The magazine was the first to warn about Mad Cow (because it has these correspondents all over the world) As you know, the magazine states it's purpose in its masthead, and warning people about dangerous subtances when they get information about it, is not unChristian. People would be yelling, hey, they ran into information about this deadly stuff and said nothing. The devils!

  • What does that have to do with salvation? Teaching false doctrine to people leads them away from salvation. Giving health advice doesn't even begin to make up for misleading people spiritually.

  • Easy answer, Christopher, the magazine's masthead explains its purpose and it didn't say the purpose of this magazine is only to save people's souls in the spiritual sense. (but in the physical sense also, it seems)

  • Right. the JW goal is to 'take in knowlege'. And thus we have salvation by way of knowlege.

  • That's half right. Christians are supposed to act on that knowlege.

"James 1:22-25 (New King James Version)22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, "

  • This is Dr. Weil MD (that guy on PBS) recently on Aluminum: "I recommend avoiding anti-perspirants that contain aluminum compounds, which are irritants and may be absorbed into the body. We don't know the details of aluminum toxicity, but aluminum has no known role in human physiology,"

  • But does that support the idea that people can be contaminated spiritually by aluminum?

  • Where is it written that anyone claimed people can be contaminated spirtually by aluminum?

  • It's implied.

  • Implied? Or did someone jump to conclusions since it wasn't specifically stated?

  • It's a religious publication. Not a scientific or health journal. So a spiritual implication is there.

  • It is well known that the magazine covers health issues, stories on animals and peoples and implying the magazine said people can be contaminated spirtually is how you read into it and is a big leap

  • Like I said, watchtower publications are religious writings - not scientific ones.

  • The topics in Awake, as you have shown are not completely religious. Some articles don't have much of a religious connection, but are health issues, peoples, distant lands. One article said blood oranges are good. And one was a foreign recipie This is because its an international magazine. (I know you are going to make a joke about "blood oranges,"

  • But they claim such publications are given directly to us from God by way of his 'faithful and discrete slave'.

  • Someone has to be in charge so you don't go away and find people dancing around a golden calf.

In the early congregation it was Paul and the disciples. Someone has to make sure what's in the scriptures are followed.

  • Here are some of the topics in Watchtower under this heading: "Health, Medicine, and Blood" Alzheimers Disease—Easing the Pain Are You Getting Enough Exercise? Are You Getting Enough Sleep? Battle Against AIDS—Will It Be Won?, The Bloodless Surgery—Its Benefits Gain Recognition Bringing Phobias Under Control Chemicals and Your Health Cigarettes—Do You Reject Them? Coping With Post-traumatic Stress Coping With Prostate Problems Coping With Stroke
  • As I showed, many articles have no religious connection. Awake is read by many people who are not really all that religious and some who don't belive in God.

  • "Aluminum

    (Aluminio)

    September 2006

This fact sheet answers the most frequently asked health questions (FAQs) about aluminum." Even today there are some health concerns about aluminum. Was the article quoting from some source or what?

  • Great funny video.

  • guys guys, settle down will you....love thy neighbour and all that...geez no need for the insults....let me mediate here...JWinCT, your in a cult mate thats biblically incorrect-get out while you can, and grab a hold of a KJV Bible...Christopher, stop calling the JW names...OK? Right, settled then.

  • When did I call the JWs names? It's the watchtower society that I criticised, not the JWs themselves.

  • Comment removed

  • Yea and Jehovah of the Watchtower doesn't know anymore than science!

  • These quotes came from God's spirit driven organization, right? So it shouldn't matter how old they are.

    LOL

  • Yes. You show your ignorance by that last statement.

  • So, the watchtower bible and tract society isn't God's spirit-driven organization?

  • And then there was silence.........What say you JWinCT. Spirit directed hatred of tin foil or a non spirit directed organization?

  • What JWinCT doesn't realize is that it shouldn't matter how old the quotes are, if they really came from God's spirit-driven organization.

  • Spoken like a true Christian...."Get a life and stop picking on God's people, you piece of filth. What a waste of flesh and bone." Is this how the true Christian speaks to his brothers? Heres a quote for you- Matthew 7:16 "By their fruits you will know them" Dont think for a moment YOU are one of Gods chosen, matey!

  • I actually enjoy the insults. It helps all of us to see what JWs are REALLY like.

    LOL!

  • These fools just amaze me...i know a guy at work who is so srewed up because of his [JW's] Bible interpretations-man the guy is so brainwashed. Even when i show him the passages I'm quoting him [KJV] he wriggles and carries on and gets quite angry. I dont think JWinCT is necessarily representative of JW'S [he's just plain rude] though I havent met a single JW who wasnt screwed up!! And I've met a few!!

  • The JW I studied with would get mad at me for asking simple questions. He'd sigh, roll his eyes, and talk down to me as if I were an idiot. It's my experience that JWs have an arrogant, condescending side.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd rather be an idiot than a troll like you.

• Sometimes you have to rebuke the scribes and Pharisees.

  • Understood....however it is easier to catch flies with honey than with a fly swat. People are people and get their backs up and then you lose them.

  • You honstly thing JWinCT is interested in a civil discourse? He's brainwashed by the WT, and would never listen to sound arguments - even those dipped in honey.

  • Any qualified and licensed mental health counseller will tell you that JWinCTs response is the way that people in cults are programmed to react, when they have no valid argument against what is presented.

They will switch the argument to being towards the personality of the other person (who they demonize in their own mind).

Another thing a brainwashed cult member will do is walk away quickly, because they are afraid of any negative thinking about the validity of their delusion.

  • AMEN JWinCT..... Jehovah's spirit is with you my fine brother!

  • I can't dismiss it as "wacky" I would say controversial, as I see doctors against aluminum. One report: " In the 1970s, Canadian researchers released a report that indicated that Alzheimer's patients showed evidence of higher levels of aluminum in the brain than healthy patients. A link was immediately drawn between the popularity of aluminum cookware "

  • Another thing that licensed mental health professionals and destructive cult counsellers will point out is that the a programmed cult member will have a very extreme radicalization in both outlook and language, the "religious extremist".

i.e. see JWCTs choice of extreme words above: "idiot, hateful, filth, jerk"

This cult programming prevents them having rational debate, because it is human nature to react to this extremism, that in turn makes outsiders appear to them demonized.

    Poor JWinCT

  • Poor JWinCT. Afraid to consider whether thousands hours of preaching and sermons, the broken promises and all the sacrifices he'd made - might possibly influence his judgement about whether he is on a good path. You have to feel sorry for people like JWinCT, it's not their fault they are programmed to exclude from life and recruit others to join them.

It shouldn't matter how old watchtower quotes are, if they really had came directly from 'god's spirit(s)-driven organization'.

  • All this time I thought Twinkies were from the Devil.

    Silly me.

I understand now that Pop Tarts are only eaten by Apostates. I like Strawberry.

Since the Witnesses do not want Aluminium used for cooking utensils, I think they are now using it to make hats to shield them from the Devil's mind control.

  • The JW pop tart changes flavors as you eat it. They call it the 'new light' pop tart.

    LOL

  • Hey, guys. Let me mediate in a fair and balanced way.

JWinCT, you are a totally brainwashed, delusional moron.

Everyone else is right except for the JW's
