dudes....im almost angry you havnt had nicko mcbrain on here for an interview,...then again he is very small time isnt he,...he is only the drummer for the worlds biggest metal band, he is only one of the biggest influences of the best drummers today,...he only sounds like john bonham on steroids, thier album only just got to number 1 in england and many other countries, they have only been doing this over 30 years......>.>....come on guys,.....cool channel btw but missing mr mcbrain!! :o
@ObviousChicken it's not about demolishing another drummer... niko mcbrain and mike portnoy are excellent, but get real... two different genres for gods sake
Thumbs up to Portnoy. I am not a fan per se but I think he has incredible talent and the first 3 records that I own of DT are very good. His 4 influences are my top 4..throw in Stewart Copeland and we have the same taste! :)
@flippytheleper Bozzio is some kind of Rhythmic Alien thing... he just flops around like a salty squid and makes amazing grooves and rhythms. I think the rediculous strings of notes come from the fact that his kit is now bigger than new york, and he's attempting to sustain more notes by rolling... but seriously, check some of his shit out. Like Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop. Some badass drumming in there.

@punkrockdrummer1990 Iron Maiden = World's biggest metal band?
I'd like to introduce you to a band called 'Metallica'
Also, Portnoy would demolish McBrain.

@ObviousChicken I'm almost a die hard Metallica fan, and even I know Iron Maiden is much bigger than Metallica. a Much bigger international fanbase.

Neal Peart!
He was and still is the best drummer in the World! He's ranked No.1 in the Worlds Best Drummers List!
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
@tttmmmnnnttt That's a poorly created list. Peart wouldn't make my top ten.
garrettmillerdrums 1 year ago
@garrettmillerdrums so, how would be in your top ten? there aren´t ten drummers better than Peart, so i´m assuming:
1.- you have no idea of drumming
2.- you just hate peart because you´ll never be like him

@tttmmmnnnttt mike protnoy smokes him easily

On one of his DVD, portnoy talk about of another Drummer: BOZZIO... Infact a lot of his fills and groove are bozzio-like styles as himself say...
mentzsana 2 years ago 3
Bozzio can only play 64th notes, I wouldn't call that influence

ringo was not the best drummer but lars urlih too and G. Kollias like him. It's taste of style and music they play, not technical abillities
