  • PLEASE HOW IS THE PRONUNCIATION IN LATIN LETTERS?THANK YOU

  • mmm the patriarch and metropolites qualify the orthodox confession as the one true and apostolic faith sooo in a sense i saw it like a faith :P

  • How glorious is this chant and blessed is the voice. Carry on., and spread the word to the world. I long to the day to se all Christians unite under Christ.

  • How glorious is this chant and blessed is the voice. Carry on., and spread the word to the world.

  • Man this stuff rocks! Way better than the rap they put out there.

  • we are attending, alternating, our Sundays between the Roman Gregorian rite, and the Melkite Byzantine Catholic rite.

    Glorious...

  • @ecclesiaprimus God Bless you and your family.

  • @ecclesiaprimus I am a Greek Melkite Catholic from Brazil. Used to attend Latin Rite...but it was not spiritual enough for me. Greek Melkites are already 1 million in Brazil!

  • Orthodox is the true faith !

  • @TheAvenger2012

Orthodoxy isn't a faith, as far as I know... It's an earthly organization for a "faith".

  • @meusisto orthodoxy is not a faith its a life in Christ.....

  • i love you jesus

i love you father for your p precious gift your son

thankyou father for sending the wholly spirit that guide and edify me to your son jesus

  • Halelouya..Praise the Lord .wonderful choir.thanks

  • I love listening to Gregorian Chant and Byzantine Liturgical Chant side by side, alternating, one after the other. The dynamics between Latin and Greek and Arabic stir the soul and truly provide a musical antiphon to the universality of Christ's Church, be we Catholic or Orthodox.

  • Soldier9718, melkites are Catholic, they are Eastern Rite Catholics who keep there eastern traditions, like Orthodox, but unlike the orthodox they are under the Pope.

  • i understand. originally orthodox, they took a leap of humility for christ's sake. they agreed to join the catholics in order to bring the two closer. something no other denomination has done. they are truly blessed. one day the catholics will do the same and the orthodox aswell and we will have a united church. and all will remember that it was the melkites who made the first step.

    rgds issa, an orthodox christian

  • @soldier9718 They didn't agree to join the roman catholic church, and they didn;t need to because the orthodox were catholics without the pope.

Saint Mark of Ephesus stopped the union of florence from happening, today he's venerated in the orthodox church.

  • well u are correct. the orthodox church is the catholic(worldwide) church. i will not argue that.

  • not to split hairs my friend but technically Catholic technically means fullness as in the which contains the fullness of Christ, while worldwide would more or less be ecumenical.

  • well u are right. hmmm so the orthodox church is the apostolic catholic ecumenical orthodox church. thank you =]

  • people understand that foxtrot77777 was an atheist and thanx to the beautiful work of kalamation has understood the message of christianity and showed kindness to us. he has come to be my best frend and a christian. : ) god bless u kalamation

  • thank you my brother , i love you my brother

  • I Love You Jesus My Lord And God !!!

  • This was beautiful Issa, I love the melodic passion in the voices and the message is of course poignant, and filled with the love we need all to share. thank you. 5

  • :) kalamation has some of the most beautiful chants ever all with english translation:)

  • We are temporary, while both sides complain about each other.

  • i only hope that the pope will one day take a lesson from the bishop of sidon and belittle himself as jesus did and give up his power for the good of christianity. u must be proud to be melkite and i am proud to have brothers called melkites. long live christianity!

  • I am a Greek Orthodox christain and I am VERY proud of my heritage and of the Orthodox church I feel more at peace and I feel the love from God in the Orthodox church more than any born again churches(evangelical churches)

    GOD BLESS THE GREEK CHURCH!

  • GOD BLESS THE ORTHODOX* CHURCH :)

  • A gesture to both sides. For Jesus' sake.

  • a good idea but it only made u guys catholic. but what a selfless thing 2 do

  • Melkite are witnesses to Orthodoxy and Unity and defenders of Orthodox. See the link in the info section.

  • ok, nice. but r u guys classified as orthodox or catholic or wat?

  • can any1 tell me the difference between orthodox and melkite thq

  • 1723. Orthodox Bishop in Sidon declares union with Pope. Melkite traditions are the same as Orthodox otherwise.

  • y did he do that?

  • im agnostic but this is really good music for anybody, and its all vocals

  • you are a nice person but jesus says " if you are not with me you are against me"

but thank you for being nice

  • THE BEST!!!!!!

  • ya ruhee

  • Very Beautiful!

  • This is realy beatifuly!!

  • Lumière de l'est ? Rome, qu'as-tu fait de cette lumière ?

  • I am the grand daughter of Syrian and Greek immigrants, all of whome were Orthodox. I grew up going to church with my Situ, but I was raised Episcopalian. This video and music made me cry and lift my hands to God, wishing I was still that little girl in church with them....

  • Maybe you can go back. Jesus saves the heart we had as children in the Tabernacle. Thanks for the comment. Please pray.

  • that is very true and beautiful.

i was wondering if u could get the hymn: pascha ieron imin simeron anadhedhicte etc.

    in arabic and/or greek

  • I do not have this recording. If anyone does, let us know. God Bless.

  • i know that GreekOrthodox has it and it is called 'Christ Is Risen!' . it is beautiful and i was wondering if u could get it in both languages and make it as beautiful as ur other ones.

  • You can go back to the truth! Don't let these evangelicals comsume you! Come back to Christ! If you want, I can help guide you to the light. God bless you!

  • LOL.... I'm not an evangelical or fundamentalist. LOL I'm Episcopalian. My Situ lived with us and I went to church with her fairly often. I didn't understand anything because it was in Greek and we spoke only Arabic or English in our home. However, I was VERY connected to the beauty of the service, the music, and just being there with her. I am hoplessly, happily and forever Epsicopalian and a proud Arab grandaughter. God bless you, too.

  • Really? I read somwhere that it is a protestant church...

  • It is Protestant, with roots in the Roman church as King Henry established the Church of England in order to divorce and be the head of the Church of England. My Mother chose to be Episcopalian as a very young girl; 8 years old. They lived across from an Episcopal church and she loved watching the families go in and out together. She was drawn to it and that's how it started. The rest of the family is Orthodox or Catholic through marriages.

  • Well, any protestant church I consider evangelical. Will you be converting to Orthodoxy?

  • No... I am very happy.

  • there is no such thing as converting from episcopalian to orthodox

as they two are both christian, i myself am orthodox and i find it ignorant that people would use the word "converting" when refering to switching denominations

  • ...I find it ignorant when people (regardless of their faith) refer to the Orthodox Church as a "denomination". Our Orthodox faith is pre-denominational (after all, our church was founded by CHRIST, long before this "denomination" non-sense came about). And the only way you can become Orthodox is to be baptized in our church. If you come from another Christian faith, and you get baptized in the Orthodox Church, you are converting to Orthodoxy.

  • bullsonparade you are right on

  • Christós Anesti!!!

  • @BullsOnParade1993

I accept what you have said about the denomination thing, but should a person coming from Syrian Orthodoxy / Catholicsm need to get baptised to become an Orthodox? Are you double sure? ;) (heers

  • You aren't Arab my dear fellow Melkite. Melkites are of Syriac origin.

  • Syriac and Greek mix; remember that the city that most original Melkites hail from, ANTIOCH, is a city founded and inhabited by many Greek immigrants.

  • It's true that there is a Greek mix, although Melkites are mostly of Syriac origin and have spoken the language til some centuries ago. God bless :)

  • Yes, actually the Greco-Romans were not immigrants but, Antioch was under our rule during the Roman Empire times. This is why there are many roman monuments in Syria, Israel and other Middle Easter countries.

  • plz read acts 11:26

  • you can always convert !!!!!! we arer waiting for you

  • أنتم الذين بالْمسيح إعتمدتُم. الْمسيح قد لَبِستُم هلليلويا. في البدء كان الكلمة و الكلمة هو الْمسيح.

    شالوم דשךםצ

  • translation: All of you who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. In the beginning there was the Word and the Word is Christ. Peace.

  • American Catholics would serve themselves better in familiarizing themselves with the writings of Thomas Aquinas regarding just war theory. In these he discusses the importance of avoiding wars for private gain. These wars plagued Europe in history. It does not take much research to realize the menacing effect of private corporations, such as central bankers, in influencing the present conflicts.

  • Dear vaio720. You bring up a good point in the difference between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions. In the Roman tradition, there is more willingness to take the path of reason in defending the faith. This is risky since one can forget the Author of reason by taking this path. Orthodoxy avoids this altogether, preferring to stay closer to the mystery in the Holy Spirit, beyond reason itself. But God provides grace where grace is needed. See above.

  • Alleluia! He Is Risen!!!

  • Christos Anesti! Al Massi7 Kam!

  • Haqan Qam!

  • Christos Anesti!!! Alleluia!!

  • krisdos i haryav merelotz!

  • ...thomas aquinas was NOT an orthodox christian theologian...many of his so called theological teachings are actually protestant and not traditional patristic theology.......

  • Either you have a strong misconception of Roman and Greek Christianity or you have a strong misconception of Protestant Christianity. I do not know which.

  • Sorry, meant to respond to an earlier comment, not to this video.

  • You didn't know there were Arabic Christians?

    Come and visit us sometime.

  • this hymn is song by a Catholic feu BISHOP HAJJAR!!!! but anyway it is gid time to unate with out brother in faith: orthodox, and to form the great christian family! Agios o Theos

  • Agreed on both points! azar

  • omg that is really nice

  • beautiful, just beautiful, my first Eastern Rite experience was at a Melkite Catholic Church, it was amazing, does anyone know where a Spanish speaking Melkite Catholic Church is?

  • That is a tough one. They probably exist. Many Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian Melkite and Orthodox immigrated to countries in S America. I suggest you use google or clusty to search for them.

    azar

  • The Melkite Church is really a beautiful part of the Catholic Church. The tradition is rich and the style completely unique. I'm a Latin (Roman) Catholic, so we don't get much exposure to this kind of music.

  • Please be charitable. It is better to say that these chants influenced Islamic prayers, since these Christian Churches predate Islam. This is what the people were before Islam. This is also why there is a recognition of Mary's purity and the virgin birth of her Son in Islam.

    Azar

  • you may be right. but when islam appeared in arabia they were not dealing with orthodoxes. please don't get me worng. i believe the brotherhood of religions but we can say after the seljuk and ottoman rule this might be happen

  • But the islamic chant maybe was developed after the apparition of Islam taking some influences from christianity. It is possible.

  • Yes, Christianity predates Islam. They respect Mary, in fact she is the ONLY woman mentioned by named in the Koran. But I'm pretty sure that they do NOT believe in the virgin birth.

It bothers me that there is only one woman named in the Koran. What does that tell you about the value it places on women?

  • Yes they talk about a virgin birth.

Moslems show great respect for women in my expierence. More than is shown in the west. And I grew up with Moslems. Maybe times have changed. Just like now many Christians do not believe in just war principles anymore.

    azar

  • "Just war" was never a Christian Principle.

You must be able to differentiate between people innovating/adding to a religion and people merely following their religion.

    Examples:

Christian Violence - nothing in the new testament support violence. Judgment is God's and God's ONLY. Everything reinforces "turning the other cheek".

Muslim Violence - unfortunately, the Koraan has many many occasions where it supports and even requires violence from its faithful.

  • If someone attacks you, you have a Christan moral obligation to defend yourself in war. It is in the Catechism and elaborated further by Thomas Aquinas as two examples.

I do not understand why people keep posting here that the Koran supports violence, when the overwhelming evidence is that 9/11 was a false flag operation by criminal members of the U.S. Government. I am really weary of this discussion. I started this Channel for the Glory of God. Please pray for peace.

  • You just lost all credibility. It was not an inside job. You are so ignorant.

  • You are right Azar, about their belief in the Virgin Birth. Sorry.

Moslems show respect for woman in a lot of ways. Their modesty is respected and they are not expected to compete for the attention of men with make-up and skimpy clothing. The Koran gave women the right to inherit and banned female infanticide when it was common. But *some* Moslem societies place way too many restrictions on women.

But I still find it strange that the whole Koran only mentions one woman by name.

  • Thank you for elaborating on this. Please pray for peace. God Bless you and all here.

  • Yes, but remember a women's testimony is worth 1/4 of that of a man in Islam. Christianity is unique, in that the the New testament respects women, as shown through Jesus affection for Mary, and Magdalen. Christian scripture respected women, but it was later distorted for political reasons.

  • These hymns predate the muslim religion

  • It sounds similar to the muslim hodja because like all great things muslims stole from greeks and claim as there own

  • omg this is beautiful

  • please look into 9/11 truth. azar

  • beautiful, orthodox is the truth christian belief.

  • This video is from a Melkite Greek Catholic liturgy. They are Orthodox in communion with Rome and thus as Catholic as Latins, though they share a common spirituality and tradition with the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch.

  • alethos anesti!

  • It sounds very similar to the way the Qu'ran is read by our brothers in the Muslim faith. Truly God wants us to see similarities and not differences. May our brothers in Islam see this wisdom as well. Bless u!

  • Yes i feel the same way. I grew up hearing these and the prayers from the minarets. May God Bless all you you have commented or viewed these. Please pray with a pure heart for peace.

    Azar

  • Thanks Azar,

Looking forward to more videos such as these. Do you know of a site that has these chants/videos?

  • There are others I posted. Click on my username.

I have 2 others to post, probably later this summer. I would like to make more, for Christmas, maybe.

    God Willing

There may be others out there on utube or elsewhere.

    God Bless

    Azar

  • Truly great! I never knew that this manner of chant is possible in our Christian faith! Glory Alleluia!

Arabic & this type of chant is possible with Christians too, and not just in Islam. God bless you.

  • lol well the Christians in the Middle East were the first Christians, and they're still chanting :P

  • bravo

  • Good work, please add more for blessing this world and uniting the Church one Eucharistic Church just as Jesus the Lord prayed for it to be one as He and the Father is One - through a second pentecost.

  • Beautiful! God bless all the people of this world!

  • Beautiful! God bless the Catholic Church in its many rites!

  • The best
