omg i saw the show last night and we waited by the stage door in the 10 degree weather for 45 minutes. we saw alot of the ppl and got autographs but we were really waiting for sutton foster. after 45 minutes the body guard dude sed she left while other ppl were signing our playbills
google her website... I've been there once, but can't remember the url. There's an address, and you can get a signed picture if you send an extra envelope!
I just saw the show at the first preview and it was AWESOME!!!! The Young Fiona's and the young Shrek are all really nice and love it when u ask 4 their signature. Especially the Young Fiona. She was really nice. Everyone was!!! The only thing is Donkey and Sutton both only went to the people next to the stage door and then they left. Everyone on the rest of the line (including me) was REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY dissapointed.
Part of the reason I went was 2 c and meet Sutton Foster... missed again.
merchandise check the website often. it has been doing well in previews in seattle, now it will start previews on bway soon. brian who plays shrek wont come out in between duble show days. i heard sutton is great about the stagedoor. dont be afraid to ask the young/teen fionas for the signature, they will love too.
The dragon was an inflatable thing that had people underneath it moving it around. Kecia, the singer was totally independent from the dragon itself. The dragon was corny, but it was cool when we first see the eyes light up. Her transformation required several make up artists doing her face at the same time according to a cast member (little Shrek)
bigsquare, the first time they show her, it's definitely her and she's had a lot of time for makeup during Shrek's number with Donkey on the rocks in front of the moon. The scenes with Fiona and Donkey in the little shack could very well be a double since in the shack we don't see her very clearly. I do believe they used Mama Ogre for that part in the shack.
When the fairy tale creatures crash the wedding, Fiona runs out of the church and the guards force her back in. This was a switch. The Fiona they bring back in is a double wearing the same wedding dress. She never shows her face and is hidden behind the fairy tale creatures, though we clearly see her dress. During this time, the real Fiona is backstage getting green on her face and neck by a few people (green gloves and fabric below her necklace on the dress). They switch again for the reveal.
Where did you sit? Row A? You seemed to notice all the details. Last time after I saw the "Young Frankenstien", I thought that would be the only chance in my life seeing Sutton on stage. Thank god, she is back to the west coast again. I wish there will be more broadway shows preview in Seattle. Maybe I will have a chance to see Hunter perform too
Orchestra Right Row N. Sutton was a much better Fiona than Sarah (her understudy). Sutton was much more hilarious. Sarah's performance was a little to Kristen Chenoweth-ish. I found out after the show that Sarah did understudy Kristen for another show (not Wicked). The cast member I was excited to see after the show was John Tartaglia. Also, after the second time I went, I got a big treat and met Asmareth (Pilar from Legally Blonde). She was there for her friend Haven now in Shrek after LB.
I met her there tonight!!! she was soooo tired :P Its funny..I LOVE HER I told her she was my idol and she looked like wow...then she was like "thank you so much" I was like OMFG!
I don't think the show did her justice... Some of the numbers were really good, but since I saw it during the preview week I think they are still fixing some things. Chris Sieber as Lord Farquaad was amaaaaazing!!! he definitely stole the show.
Umm... and I think it took her about 25 or 30 minutes to come out.
Ha... umm I don't remember the curtain. I actually don't think there was one. When I arrived at the theatre the stage was open and the set was the swamp and a bunch of trees...
AMAAAZING!!!! he was perfect as Pinocchio and the magic mirror. And I got to talk to him at the stage door too and he was extremely friendly and likable. I'm going to post that video soon... !
I know chester and chris came out (if you're talking about donkey and lord farquaad...) Quite a few people came out earlier than she did. Not positive about Haven. I remember some people were waiting to see her...
Want to know what the best part about meeting Sutton Foster for me was? It was that she treated me like I was her best friend! I love Sutton!

I believe first 2 times Fiona transformed into ogre, they used a body double with Sutton's voice.
but the final scene that was really her.
I was wondering how they got her painted green so fast. they must air-spray her like crazy.

Ha... umm I don't remember the curtain. I actually don't think there was one. When I arrived at the theatre the stage was open and the set was the swamp and a bunch of trees...

The opening curtain is basically made of strips of greenish/yellowish material that hang down, like a curtain of vines.
