At what point do you go from "memorizing" the notes , to feeling where to go ?

@warrwn2j : I am not a pro, but I would say that listening to what you are playing and trying to anticipate a good suite will teach you how to feel the notes.

Memorization is just practice.

@KylesSocietyofMisfit He's playing barre chords: 377333, 668866, 557755 and he's throwing in fills along with a little rhythmic tap. Looks like he's using his thumb to really get the bass notes out of the bottom strings while sort-of finger picking the higher strings. The rest is just rhythm. The chords are as basic as they get, but it's all about the strumming and technique to get it to sound the way he's playing it. Good luck.

i mess around with the blues scale in all keys all the time you do it long enough and you really build speed and flavor then you can mix in some major scale notes and build chords too fuck i love guitar

Nice little lick there, and a mellow groove to play it over. At first glance, it looks like a Gm, Ebmaj7, Dm7 most of the time. That second go round, looks like he dropped the 8th fret down to the 5th on the D string.
