I live in Md., but I belong to a church in La. where the spirit of God is there every time the doors open. These old song bring tears to my eyes, tears of joy, because I know they tell true stories that many have forgotten or never knew. Thank you, Pastor Flemming for refreshing my memories of true "down home church"!!!!!
When I was a little boy my Grandma used to be in the kitchen early in the morning making biscuits and she'd be humming this song then when it got good she'd start singing the song.
Lawd, I miss those days.
Grandma still here but she don't make them biscuits no more.
Mama taught me about the Bible ,but i lived life my way, down a dark and lonely hwy,Jesus met me on my way,now I sit and read my Bible,i kneel down and pray,I still need that old o time revival in that old o, o fashion way, down at the river, muddy water washed my SINS AWAY.
This takes you back to (Mt. Baptist I Got My Shout On Today Missionary Baptist Church)!LOL! They don't even do this kind of sanging no more and we don't need no music to praise God and who He is! He knows in the moans and in the footstomping that we give Him total praise! I have found a new jam! Peace to all those that know this kind of church and all those that know about that old deacon on his knees after Sunday School at the altar(I threw ya back didn't I) Smile!
This is exactly how they sung during my grandmother's days. I use to sit as a little child and sing right along. It is good to see this type of singing again.
im 33 years old and i like this kind of singing way better than the praise dance stuff they got out this was chuch here

That song rings more true today than any other time. Because, we are in a storm. But, the good news is, the storm is passing over. Thank you Jesus
