  • sweet m8.. thanks for sharing this!

  • In the words of MC Hammer... You can't touch this!!

  • his voice and timing r perfect live

  • In Norway we call this: omg, can't belive I just found out about this guy!

  • Fender fucked him over on a deal hence why he changed to Gibson. Also I think anyone who plays blues on a Strat is going to "feel" some SRV in there somewhere and that's going to come out. I actually like Philip Sayce better at playing this type of stuff.

  • In Scotland we say,Can YOU do better:)

  • THEY are good !!!

  • fuck hes insanely good, would love to see him live

  • Eric Czar, sorry for the dérangement

  • What the name of the amazing bassist? Sorry for my bad english

  • @Lemkil07 Eric Czar

  • I'm on crack? I have no imagination? You guys are in love with this because it's Joe Bonamassa and nothing more. Most of the licks he's using are a direct rip-off of SRV and every other blues guy alive or dead. Joe's an amazing guitarist, no doubt. But this is shallow at best and he's produced far better then this. Grow a spine and quit your crabbin'...it's just an opinion..

  • In Holland we call this... Joe Bonamassa

  • The most amazingness ever and on a fender lol !

  • Thanks for all the comments guys!

  • He might as well be playin' children's music. No imagination...one of the worst blues tunes I've ever heard and certainly the worst tune I've ever heard him do...

  • @BudgieBobbarooo wow... go back to mars..

  • @BudgieBobbarooo no words to describe how ignorant you are! wow

  • @BudgieBobbarooo You must be a real dumb-ass!!! No imagination? get off the crack dude.

  • In Iceland we call this blues...

  • This is why joe needs to switch back to fender, signature model or not. Gibsons are overpriced pieces of crap.

  • Cold Shot Vol.2!

  • @drumdude199 Awsome how he did that.

  • I Danmark kalder vi det for SRV efterligning

  • Son of SRV

  • I prefer Joe on a Strat to a Les Paul, there's a smoothness and subtlety there that the Gibson lacks.

  • in America we call this ROCK YOUR ASS OFF!!!

  • in Glasgow we call it shit hot.

  • In Britain we call this FUCKING BRILLIANT!

  • 8 people upset me,baby!Fantastic song!!Love you,Joe!!!!!

  • In italy we call this "DIO"....

  • In India we call this "Bhenchod" !!!

  • Excelente

  • guy can play that guitar,he's got a great vocabulary,(chops and licks) so what's not to like? You can choose to compare him to your guitar god and of course ,will find him a little less so why bother? guys good+ end of story.SSSSSSSH!! Let's listen...............

  • I love when Joe played Strat's. Even one as butt ugly as the one he is playing. I can only assume, he stopped playing Strats because of the endless comments and criticisms that he sounded to much like Eric Johnson who he admits greatly influenced his style and approach. Love the tone and playability of Les Paul's and Strats, but I understand why it seems to me the last four CD's he has done as a solo artist and with Black Country Communion he mainly plays LP's...

  • @bluesinduluth Apparently the reason Joe switched to Gibson is because Joe asked Fender to build him a signature guitar and they refused. Gibson were only too happy to oblige. More fool Fender.

  • @westonblues -Wow...hard to fathom why Fender would refuse to build JB a signature model. Whast??...Are you kidding me Fender?? Rarely do you see someone who keeps growing in ability, and crafting songs.

  • @bluesinduluth

In my opinion there is no Strato Signature model for him so....

  • WTF that should be posted on youporn!!!!

  • Look'n Forward to Box seats in Oct Cleveland Ohio

  • In Sweden we call this "Gudomligt"

  • ANYONE TELL ME, IF THIS IS DVD-AVAILABLE

  • @RockyCatOrganism Yes it is on his site. "Live At Rockpalast". ;-)

  • eric czar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sen this man 4 times !!! and look foreward to the next 4.

  • Anyone that says anything negative about this has absolutely no taste in music whatsoever.

  • Nice sound!!! Could Joe be the new SRV?

  • @fuckthecamping no! , nobody can feel SRV' shoes!

  • the volume swell part is insane!!!!!!!! great singer too, the band is great too! thanks JimmieX.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is amazing but he's too much of a Stevie Ray rip off for me

  • Great and good since GM in Heaven RIP- This Version is great

Sorry this not a Try to compare. -Thats Rock and awesome

  • I watch this everyday, Its healthy nontheless!

  • simply just f@*ken BRILLIANT

  • nothing new here white boy blues

  • in Greece we call this ΕΠΟΣ!!!!!!

  • @medaner1974 In cyprus we call this ΑΡΙΣΤΟΥΡΓΗΜΑ !!!!

  • @medaner1974 χααχαχαχαχχα ετσι φιλε!

  • @medaner1974 In America we call this SEX

  • 6 thumbs down, why???

  • After hearing this for the first time he instantly seared his name into my brain

  • pride and joy yeah ı no but sucks

  • How does he do that technique at 3:30?

  • @superstriker00

pick the string, volume knob 0. While the string swings, turn volume knob with your little finger on. Now you have a violine sound. You have to do that fast, when you play fast, before every note, you have to turn down to 0.

  • As always. EXCELLENT!!

  • Thanks Jimmie X for uploading these vids, I just got turned on recently to Joe and man now I am trying to find everything I can by this amazing artist!

  • This is shit!!!

  • THE GREAT REVIVAL OF "REAL" MUSIC AND MUSICIANSHIP HAS BEGUN---IT BEGINS AND ENDS HERE!!! AWESOME & AMAZING! THE GREAT AMALGAM OF STEVIE RAY, STEVE VIE, ERIC JOHNSON, CLAPTON, SATRIANI, BUDDY GUY AND HENDRIX--------FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • Total SRV influence and sound!

  • The drummer looks like Ben Rothliesberger

  • he is a little too technical but WAY better than mayer

  • too technical

  • no words, have no words... don't even know what to do, laugh or cry.... ok, i'll just go out of here..download this from downloadmusic.im

  • All he did was practice.

  • All honor to the men and women who gave us the blues. The fact is most played some cords and fat fingered some runs but I think a lot of those old guys where more interested in whisky and women than practicing. Then came the likes of Albert The King and BB King . True masters. But to say as someone did that Joe's music is plastic and requires no work is obviously wrong. You don't play like that practicing once a week. Clapton had a reputation at one point for being boring because all he did was

  • @JimmyGuitarist

Yes, Lightnin' Hopkins was pure and was very talented...but don't delude yourself. If there were Strats and Marshalls around in the 30's and 40s (and if he could have accessed them), there is NO WAY he would have recorded all that music using his just voice and an often-out-of-tune acoustic.

  • If you can't feel the passion in this song you're dead from the neck up. I'm tired of hearing about who has soul and who doesn't. A bit of reverse racism there to think one race has a lock on "soul". If you like old twangy guitars and bad recordings so be it. But the build in this song and the beautiful guitar work gives me chills. I've been listening to blues since the early 50s and I'll take today's blues hands down.

  • ...AND HE COULD PLAY LIKE THIS WHEN HE WAS 12 YEARS OLD...MAYBE NOT WITH THE SAME FINESSE BUT STILL AMAZING AT A YOUNG AGE..

  • I love the strat tone. Nice take on a classic blues number. I love Joe when he plays straight soulful blues.

  • Bonamassa the man!

  • He should use a strat alot more! ALOT! He sounds great!

  • he was playing with a bluesbreaker great!

  • hard to believe that now joe refers to this strat as ' that piece of shit ' ???

  • don't you all find this electric blues played by these guitar wizards a little bit boring or at least with nothing new to say ? Where' the soul, the groove, the passion ?

Am I becoming insensible or is it just a sign of the times ? Please give me back SRV, Albert Collins, Albert King to name just a few : they had a " sound ", the y were original. Please tell me what you think. Thanks

  • @lamiamano I think Joe is the only real blues player left of this generation (excluding the old guys like Warren and Buddy of course)

  • @Barcslay kenny wayne shepherd??

  • @lamiamano Nothing new about it, is there? It's so over-produced now aswell. After this, I might listen to someone like Lightnin' Hopkins, and this just seems so plastic.

  • I miss this Joe!!

  • JB seems to play this song in very similar style to Jimmie Vaughan... awsome stuff

  • well he is the ugliest blues guy i ever have seen before. but he is very good ;-) not the best, but very good.

  • there's something of "Pride and Joy" SRV...

  • @aleblink1988

it sounds more like few licks from coldshot solo, very beginning of the solo....then some classic bb king position stuff...then him.

some of the licks he does are pure technique exercises...very tough...amazingly tough!...but there i get some people saying he's losing some soul right there....

in any case he's pure talent!

  • He is the master of the volume swell . . JB play the Strat again !

  • hey guys, thanks so much for your support. Please go to the Official Joe Bonamassa YouTube Channel and subscribe!

  • Man. . . Joe really needs to pick up the Strat again. . . Please?

  • @Twistchawa not since his spat with fender. he is completely boycotting them only fenders he still has are a few vintage ones other than that he sold all of them

  • @Twistchawa

yeah i know he is a amazing guitarist and he needs to pick up a strat or fender now and again aswell. but whatever he uses it still sounds great

  • Great stuff. Joe is a robo-guitarplayer nowadays, much too sterile.

  • What a great cover of a great song!!! We're not worthy, We're not worthy!!!

  • JB is GOD, Eric Czar and the drummer too are freaking awesome!

  • What kind of strat is that?

  • ENOOOOOOOOOOOOOME le blues ne mourra jamais

  • 4 complete assholes

  • That first lick of the solo is so perfect

  • I love his dynamics in the solo! AWESOME STUFF!

  • I've always prefered his tone with a strat.

  • whoa jocked stevies licks note for note

  • @Kuzarkit they were never "Stevie's licks" in the first place. Stevie borrowed from Albert who borrowed from god knows who, etc. Why is it that when Stevie borrowed a phrase from someone it was fine but when someone pays homage and borrows a phrase from him it's "jocked" or "ripped off"? AND it is not "note for note" if you are talking about "So Excited". Listen to the original then post an informed response, tool.

  • yep. that's some mighty fine guitar playin' genius at work.

  • Great stuff

  • gotta love the bluesbreaker

  • fantastic trio,-

wish Joe would tour with those guys still today!

    Thanks for posting, JimmieX.

  • nice groove

  • nice groove

  • feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling!!!!! great video!!

  • is the a collective name for this line up? really diggin the inspiration they have here.....

  • wonder if he has ever played on stage with Walter Trout?

  • @boxtie He did there is a video of them on youtube. Although i think walter is not at his best in that vid, he's trying to hard to match/surpass joe and looses the soul in his playing.

  • Alot of great guitarists have come along in my life time of 51 years but no one and I mean no one (don't get me wrong SRV was here and now gone, I cried alot) alive today has JB's flair, tone, ability, or drive to play the guitar like he does so extremely well. I've been playing since I was 6 and consider myself an artist but they broke the mold with Joe! Sincerely your friend JB, Big B P.S. I hope you really played the Tele I made you, I would love to make you something

  • sounds alot like pride and joy from SRV,!

  • this song rember me Cold Shot...

    any way it's cool! =)

  • Unreal !!!!! saw him yesterday at the East coast blues festival Byron bay

  • I love the orgasm faces they have going on lol

  • i miss joe without a strat. he isn't the same since

  • @benwitten1 or an esquire ... sounds much better than with any of the Gibsons I have seen him with.

  • He's young and very good , groovy man.. Mind traveling music of the first degree and so real.

  • This song moves me a lot. Oh man- JB can play the guitar; great song to grove on. It's like mind traveling music or rolling down the highway on a cool summer night.

  • who the f--k is Groovy56, lets see what you got.

This gut Bonamassa is decent,Gary Moore type, nice tight band.

  • I like it!

  • @bankebrum actually this whole song is based off of coldshot, and the beggining of the quiet solo is from the so excited performance in el mocambo of srv. But yeah i agree for the most part this is pure talent

  • @Squweesh if it's a cover of a B.B. King song, how could it be based on a SRV number?

  • @reyjalapeno the lyrics are a bb king song. but check out coldshot and the so excited el mocombo performace very similar.

  • @bankebrum Lol..I won't compare him to SRV...that's for sure. SRV is the greek god of guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • @bankebrum Because it was featured on the sidebar when I was watching a video of the Volunteer Jam where SRV is playing. I saw a shiny strat, clicked the video, saw your ignorant comment, and had to reply. That is why this pup listens.

  • Comment removed

  • @bankebrum I must be into comparing Justin? What are you talking about. And why did you remove your comment? What did you write that you were too shy to show?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @bankebrum You are 54 so you are almost at the end of your life and have no reason to go back to school to improve your communication skills..but just do everyone a favor and stop commenting on youtube. You never answered my question about comparing Justin by the way...and your last sentence in the post I am replying to makes absolutely no sense. "Removed the first one if another (not likely ) like you dont understand.."

Seriously this is comical to me..how do you expect to be taken seriously

  • @bankebrum Haha wow I am loving this so much. First off, you spelled "meant" wrong. Secondly, favor is spelled right in my language but I don't fault you for not knowing that considering you've proven your knowledge of grammar thoroughly. Thirdly, "Hey F-brain !! There was a , between comparing and Justin what do you think that ment." makes little to no sense. Lastly, the channel view argument is as retarded as you. I have 1 upload and 600 channel views. What is your point?

  • Joe is magnificent!

  • I did not know that Ozzy can play Guitar already!

    LOL.Just kidding.

  • SRV has been reincarned in Joe !!

Awesome ! Long life to blues !

  • Heard so many times that sentence... let Joe be Joe, and let Stevie rest in peace...

  • I don't see any problem to say that Joe Bonamassa will be the future SRV and maybe better than him ! Who knows !

Your comment is so stupid !

  • @65mle Joe Bonamassa won't be the next SRV. Neither was Kenny Wayne Shpeherd, nor John Mayer. You guys keep wishing for someone to take Stevie's place. I don't know if Joe will become better than SRV, but due to the passion, the style, the attittude, there has been and there only will be one Stevie Ray Vaughan. No reincarnations. Just licks heritaged...

  • wow that's amazing wish i could see this live :) i like to think i could keep up with this

  • This sounds a hell of a lot like cold shot by SRV

  • him and Connor Shaw would be fun to watch play together!! some serious playing would go down!!!

  • i would like to see john mayer keep up with this!

  • haha he he wouldnt even get close

  • What gauge string is this prick using?

  • sizzlin....lol

  • he has amazing speed huh? and the fel is..

  • what a rythm section whos the bass player killer bottom drums excel his playing whoo

  • Drums : Kenny Kramme and bass player : Eric Czar

    Jimmie

  • @JimmieX i just read tal wilkenfeld is going to do some work with joe ... awesome as eric csar is, he cant compete with tal in the looks department :)

  • @JimmieX Too true this wouldn't work without a cracking rythm section

  • 2:24 SRV!!

    great Bonamassa!!

  • SRV

  • fuck me!! blisterin' that was.love that song.....loads do it.......top notch JB and the band

  • the lick at 7:24 is amazing

  • I miss JB with a strat!
