  • Great video. carry on the good work..

  • @MrKevg59 More to come, but I have a few projects to get out of the way first. I just got a Bren gun carrier that needs me to bring back to life

  • awsome, thanks for the vid...need a cheaper fuel pump though....geeeeeezzzzzz

  • @CLUBMAN1WI And thats an older car lol, you should see what they want for new newer cars.

  • Hey, brothah! Just found you from Pug1's videos. I've subsribed and hope you keep up the great work. PS - you did the right thing with the lawyer\s sign.

  • @frigginwidowmaker Thanks my friend. I should go tow the sign away so he can't came and try to move it without paying me first

  • @ShawnCFarm I had to do that with a couple of "WeedMan" trucks that kept blocking my 2 bay doors at the shop. Sometimes being nice and patient gets you nowhere.

  • @frigginwidowmaker If your nice people seem to walk all over you.

  • Good tips and great video. i laughed when you talked about the filler neck being dickerd i didn't expect that

  • @DrinkBeer00 I seem to be watching to many videos lol

  • just use a match to check inside the tank :p

  • @brewzur That could be fun lol

  • Nice vid :)

  • Great video, Shawn.

  • Hey Shawn, quick question.. 1977 Blazer K5. I am throwing in A stall converter, Am i going to have to drop the tranny out or do you think I can get away with unbolting it and tipping it forward to get access to change it. Thanks.

  • @ATEAMSTYLES You might as well drop it right out as you will have to undo most of it anyway, but it can be done if you don't want to mess with the trans lines and the rest of the cables

  • It was probably all the rust from the filler neck that boned the fuel pump. I have a mk1 golf gti and the filler necks are notorious for going rusty and fucking up the entire mechanical fuel injection system. Great job with the video man.

  • @mazb6t Thanks my friend , I did look in the bottom of the tank but didn't see anything

  • Damn that compressor scared the crap outta me!

  • body filler will come apart, try JB weld epoxy on that filler tube. if your gonna cob it you mite as well cob it with the good stuff

  • @AdirondackNY Its all I had on hand at the time. She still holding but prob won't last that long

  • Hey Shawn about how much would one of those code readers run?

  • @kohnal This ones more then a code reader. They run from 3500 or so. lol

  • @kohnal Yikes. Outa my price range anyway thanks for the info man

  • shes dicked

  • Just dickerd

  • @TheNeal666 Yup lol

  • Shawn I was working at a truck shop a guy was working on a gas pump he took the wrong line of Before we hit the emgery switch he was in cover in gas.I like working with diesel before gas any time .

  • @photosbychristensen Its not too bad you just have to remember to be carefull

  • Shawn Iam glad it you then me.I hate working with the gas tank.what shawn hit it to hard you might Go bomb or start a fire.

  • Good job, great detail. Keep up the good work.

  • @ManicMechanic007 Thanks and more to come

  • Just one of the jobs I heat to do. Nice work though. Later

  • @RoflmaoAtSheepeople Thanks my friend

  • Great job man! Hey, you got any ideas on why my speedo wont go above 30mph? i have a 1999 volvo v70, cheers buddy. All the best, Marty

  • @martian953 Not sure on that one

  • Ok..... I guess you shouldn smoke.... chooch while changing a gas tank? lol

  • @GroomerGuy Not a good thing to do.

  • Nice camera work Shawn, what do you use for shooting?

  • @GroomerGuy I got a new Canon vixia HF R10 hd last year. It was hard to use at first but I've got it all figgered out now.

  • Not too often folks associate a miss fire with fuel pump failure....

  • @mdk70454 This was a lean missfire. If I had taken the time to look at the fuel trims it would have showed up there or looked at o2 sensor readings

  • It's ok you can say it. That filler tube was dickered. Lol.

  • @satajet883 ahhahaha. You know you watch way to much youtube when......

  • that's the way! mmm, that tastes good :) been there. the classic no fuel filter tune up:(, did they say they changed it? interrupted the by that rude compressor :)take. Say how'd that hurricane treat you? have some family up Trenton way and man sounded like they got some rain, would have liked to been down on the Merb to watch the waves crashing in. :).

  • @landlockedviking I forgot to ask her about it, but I think I told her about it. Said she'd get one lator. We just got some rain and alittle wind, nothing really big.

  • I love that code reader... Best investment I ever made was buying a code reader.

  • @CDNBadass It can save you alot of trips to the shop lol

  • Nice vid man.

  • @couchslouch1982 Thanks my friend

  • just got a 1985 ford bronco 302ci 5.0 liter, fresh rebuild on the motor but has not been started in over 10 years, any ideas of anything i should do?

  • @jerryhowell9 Take the coil wire off and crank it over for a few mins before trying to start it. It will pump the oil pressure up and oil into where it needs to go.

  • @ShawnCFarm ok thanks and believe it or not, it started the 3rd try with a little starter fluid and runs good even after sitting for 10 years

  • That device you hooked up....why do I picture iPads replacing those one day?

  • @THEsquirrel3d They have apps for it now me thinks. Give it another year or two

  • Nice job buddy. say my 2000 accord has 182k miles on her. think i should probably change the fuel filter and throw some injector cleaner in her?

  • @IHcubcadet That might be a good thing to do lol. It will not hurt her thats for sure

  • good job on the fix. hows the whole lawyer /sign thing going let us know when you find out more , also laughed when you said dickered cause im an avid watcher of 1puglife between you,1puglife aka chris and i watch tommartyn .you guys keep it real when others talk alot of crap on here

  • @carrabec99 Thanks my friend. I beleave in telling the it like it is all the time. Some people don't like that lol I'll let you know what happens this week with the lawyers sign.

  • Hey Shawn good vid mate love watching your shows keep up the good work brother regards Shane

  • @wazclan1964 Thanks Shane I'll try and keep them comming.

  • seesh.. every time i had to do a pump the friggin tank was full...

  • @y2kxj Lol, I hate when that happens. It makes the job alot longer to do, and a pain in the rear end

  • Cool, I want a code reader.More great tips. Thanks

  • @davidsquall351 More to come

  • damn air compressors! hahaha.

  • @kevin92xj I'd like to shoot it sometimes then I remember that I had to pay for it lol

  • great video, but to check the back pressure at the exhaust pipe.

yellow shipping tags work the best (thin cardboard) .

man i wish that car was a 04 chevy malibu v6. LOL

my fuel gauge turns on and off . and sometimes wont start unless i hit the gas

pedal.all the fuses and relays are ok with no engine light. and the pump/parts are 400 bucks EEEEK ! any idea's ?

  • @MrOne2watch Try turning the key on and off a few times to prime the pump. If the pump bleeds down it will take a few to start the engine

  • what about going to the auto wreckers for a new pipe .

  • @MrMrtiki That will be the next step when she is ready to get it fixed.

  • @ShawnCFarm Way cheaper --

  • I'll definitely keep this in mind. Just a random question here, do you have any experience with 12v Cummins, 6.5 Detroit, or 7.3 IDI engines? Sorry if I asked that already I have bad memory

  • @HedgehogOutdoors Not alot but we do work on them from time to time.

  • @ShawnCFarm I've been looking at all three of those for a first truck, I doubt I can afford any, and my dad hates the smell of diesel so that's his argument against me getting one...

  • Your dollar bill trick is definitely old school, but I thought it was for checking for a leaky valve. At least that's how it was shown to me.

  • @kbert63 It could be for a leaky valve but its still kind of a missfire. I'm not even sure who showed that to me lol

  • hey shawn how much does a filler tube cost? i got a volvo 240 and my filler tube is werry rusty so i was wondering like price if you know what a filler tube cost ofcorse.

  • @MrMetalfor666 I'm not sure on that one. Your best bet might be the wreckers. You might beable to fix it like I did on this one just to get you by for awhile.

  • good video, imformative and good advise. thumbs up.

  • @ATEAMSTYLES Thanks

  • Excellent video, lots of good information, thanks Shawn.

  • @Kanuckbrewer Thanks my friend, and I hope that you never have to do this.

  • what a shitty location for a fuel filter. sheesh

  • @swss12 I hate it when all that undercoating is all over me

  • @ShawnCFarm well i give ya props for workin on such nasty rusty cars. it's sure a big job.

  • awesome video..i really enjoy watching them ...more please lol

  • @rangerfx42002 I'm glade you like them. I always have fun making them.

  • Like this video, can you do more videos in general.

  • @redneckbryon I have more on the way, not just repair videos lol. I make videos as my life happens ~GRINS~

  • With the hole in the filler maybe water got in the tank and ruined the pump. Fuel looked cloudy to me. Good vid.

  • @Mutleytech Most times it just pumps it out, but it could happen

  • I cant believe you are willing to take on these really shitty jobs..... i guess a buck is a buck. Nice work man....

  • @scanneron670 Its not really about the money, its about making videos to help people out. I don't charge near enuff for doing them, but I get lots of videos to make. Its kind of a trade off

  • That fuel pump assembly fits almost exactly the same as my 96 Dakota.

  • @craig1974 Thats kind of funny. I wounder if its the same pump number

  • @ShawnCFarm It probably uses the same fuel pump, but the fuel sender is probably different since the Dakota sender sits upright when the Neon sender sits sideways. Both senders basically use the same screw ring.

  • Shawn you know more than any mechanic in my entire state! AND the one's around here charge $100/hr. Local salvage yard should have that filler tube otherwise jb weld it. My '91 silverado needs a fuel filter.

  • @jasonmushersee I was thinking a really big rad hose with two gear clamps, and thanks for you kind words

  • Hey Shawn it's cool to use dickered, heck down here in Ohio we've been sayin that since I was a kid... And please check out my new videos... I finally was able to afford an editing program... Many Blessings...SMR

  • @TheSmreeder You got alot of rain the other day. Good thing your house is not on a flood plain

  • Another great video buddy! keep'em coming!

  • @chitlinray Thanks my friend and more to come

  • I have a 91 Mitsubishi Truck with 200,000 Miles on it, and the fuel filter, pump, and injectors have never been replaced! Except i just changed the fuel filter, she was durtyyyy!

  • @nickkyvel Make sure to run some injector cleaner in it as well

  • @ShawnCFarm Yup ran it through

  • Thanks Shawn good one ! happy thnksgiving dude

    Reg

  • @VE9REJ Thanks my friend and you have a good one as well

  • Do you know or have seen 1Puglife he says dickered alot

  • @Jejh4lom Yes thats why I say its not my word lol

  • Shawn go buy a filler tube at the junk yard... they'll charge you a couple of bucks! Awesome video buy the way!

  • @johnygogo Yup but I have to wait till they want it done

  • yuck nasty job bro

  • @peckiledorf Its down the road now about two weeks so I've forgotten about it lol

  • Keep up the great videos , very informative cant wait to see what you have next to work on , stay safe in canada and God Bless

  • @lonelymale86 Thanks my friend and hope to keep them comming but its starting to get cold out

  • @ShawnCFarm yea , maybe you will have some winter shows if they dont get to bad this year , love to see that project with the tracks on the mower running

  • Nice video, I've seen this rot on filler tubes, '80s Honda Accords used to do this, eventually salt water gets into the tank, and on the carbed versions would play havoc with the float valve O ring causing the carb to flood. I'd be willing to bet water is what took out that pump. Honda Carbs had an adjustable float seat, the base metal would corrode at the o ring and not seal, cleaning the area with a plastic scrub pad usually cleaned it enough to seal again

  • @CTOL1 I haven't seen an 80s honda in forever lol

  • @ShawnCFarm Me neither, I pretty much hung up my wrenches by '93. I'm old & tired of fixing cars for a living. Necessity requires I service my own vehicles however LOL

Honda actually would replace the filler tube under a quiet warranty, some claim they got a new carb out of them as well!!

I really enjoyed the video, thanks

  • Nice video!

  • Your vids get the first view from me with all my subscriptions, keep up the great work, thanks! That one was nice and long too :)

  • @sc0tte1 I try not to make them too long because it takes forever to upload lol, and thanks my friend

  • Also running down to a 1/4 tank or less on a regular basis will make the fuel pump over heat and fail. Dont forget to mention about that. Because the fuel is what keeps the pump cool

  • @travisjeanelle This is true

  • Yep, those tanks are heavier than expected. I learned that taking one off a Olds Ciera. I would've suspected the fuel filter or injectors was clogged since I have no way of testing fuel pressure. I gotta get one of those scan tools!

  • @farmboy30117 They come in handy some times

  • good job

  • @TheBrokemechanic Thanks my friend

  • Nice video. One of these days, I have to get under my 95 Ranger and replace the filler tube. It takes almost 20 minutes to fill my tank. I've rescently developed a small leak in the tube. So, my procastinating days are numbered.

  • @januaryman169 You should get someone to fill it for you then look to see where it is. You might beable to fix it without removing it

  • pretty fancy tester .

    thumbs up from 500

  • @500passwords Thanks buddy, your the best

  • i like it

  • @wasjunk11 Thanks my friend

  • you probably fucking compressor

  • Do car companies ever test in the rust belt? Man that is one rotten filler neck! And the rest of the car is nearly mint... so you'd never expect to be so knackered! I hope someone some where realizes there are quite a few of us here who have no choice but to endure road salt and do something with this soft steel pieces. Same as that 03 Caravan you had with the leaky pipe from the water pump.

  • @dwaynejperry They don't care once it has past the warranty

  • HAHA first comment,Great vid Shawn as usual.

  • @krismounts Thanks my friend

  • couldent you put a bit of hose on the filler pipe and clamp it on

  • @131313james131313 I was thinking that but I didn't have the right size.

  • @1993ni Thanks
