I can relate to this song a lot. I think it's about not being able to get over an old lover / friend. The narrator is waiting for that person to come back into his life, meanwhile cherishing all the memories he has with her. The line that really does it for me is, "And I've lost all sense of the world outside." I think this really shows how desperate he feels... if you read the lyrics closely, it is very obvious. Great song.

They ended up inventing a sound by default, never getting a real drummer and a singer who really couldn't sing. And yet Andrew delivers some of the most emotional performances- just like Ian Curtis. we use words like 'goth' to help us identify music with similar sounds or moods, think of it as a tool more than anything else. I dont think anybody believes andrew walks around looking like marilyn manson or LAM, so what's the concern...

Yes, it is the pre-cursor of Goth, but, it is much less slavishly devoted to the form than what is there now. Noone could really call Andrew a "GothTard". This is just good angst; "Goth" has become a parody of bands such as this and Bauhaus.
