  • dear scooby, thanks for your work out videos. they are amazing

  • creepface

  • this guy is the best!

  • thank you scooby....!!

    I will try that....!!

  • another great scooby video. I´m lucky because i got a free standing chin and dip unit and i can do this ex too. when i´m pushed for time i superset parallel bar dips and chin variations...pumps all the pulling and pushing muscles. GREETINGS from Donny the scotsman in Germany.

  • Circlular pullups! crazy!

  • Come on.... get a used weight set or join a gym, but this is crazy....

  • nasty!

  • Can I just use my pull up bar with my hands in tandem rather than make a handle, or is this dodgy?

  • scooby i have been doing your new years resolution lose weight and get in shape. after monday , mine whole upper body even biceps and triceps and abs are sore . today is wednesday i'm still sore . so , should i still go on doing them even though i feel sore ?

  • If you are lifting weights, then the pain is normal, your muscles are just recovering. Going for a light jog after lifting weights (or after doing any anaerobic exercise) will help you recover faster because it gets rid of the lactic acid in your body. Give your muscles 48 hours of rest after each workout. One day you work on your upper body, and work on your lower body the second day, and keep switching.

TIP: If your goal is to loose weight, then i suggest that you do cardio exercises.

  • Thanks for the videos epically "resolution". My challenge is not 'dedication' but 'patience'. If someone lacks a little on 'dedication' ---they fall behind a little. If someone lacks 'patience' they can injure something and have a lengthy set back. THANKS again.

  • Hey Scooby have you always workout at home? because if so that is amazing how big you are

  • HELLO PPL.

Should I just do skull crushers to work my triceps or should I mix it up with other tricep exercises?

  • This is not directly related to lats. I follow your form and exercises and get good burn in the gym using sensible weights and good form. A person I met recently uses really big weights and does the exercises really fast, maybe 2xReps per second. Even though he moves this fast his form is quite good. He has huge upper-body and seems to have good experience at body building. He says this is the way to go. I'm confused now. slow with less or fast with more, what builds mass faster??

  • Just because someone is big and muscular does not mean they know what they are talking about, they could also just be lucky or pharmaceutically enhanced. Doing pullups quickly is a recipe for injury

  • Thanks for the reply Scooby. I can see your point completely and I was also of the opinion that if I did the things he did I would injure myself. Throwing around the weights he does with my bad joints and back sounds like a recipe for disaster. Thanks again, I'll keep doing my (your) thing

  • great vid!

    Love Hans!!!!!

  • what do you think of that iron gym bar? I don't have one myself, but I tried my friends and I liked it. It's the one that hooks into the door frame, you may have seen the commercial on TV. I'm considering getting one.

  • the pull-up bar that goes inbetween your doorframe..

i was going to get one but realised my door frame is too weak to support much.

  • ur the man

  • Should I wait a full week for my muscles to rest or can I do a small workout when they are no longer sore.

    Thanks and great videos

  • Its a waste of time to do a "small" workout, if you cant give it 110% effort then wait till your muscles are completely recovered. This is just my opinion :)

  • I wanna say finally a person who knows what ther'e talking about. Theres alot of "know it at alls" out there. I enjoy youre videos and the corney humor along with it thanx for the great tips. Ill keep watching

  • whats the importance of warmup and stretching exercises for bodybuilding? I just started and never done any sports before i mean programmed and with dedication.

i sometimes hear snappinglike sounds from ankles especially from ankles and shoulders knees too when i do squats

    i m 21 and 173cm 77kg

  • I'm a big believer in warming up with about 5min of low weight sets before hitting the heavy iron. Stretching before lifting weights in my experience causes more injuries than it prevents.

  • i don't like pumper stmper..... but your videos are great anyway

  • hey scooby i want to ask you somthing, is about 3 moth i workout iven do i see i have chage ,and am more stroger now , i dont gain any pounds, went i strater working out at the gym i was, 86kg wift 19% body fat , now am 84kg 17% body fat ,and i am 5'10 - 23 years old, since i started i fallow very much all yours tip's , about traning and nutrition, i train 4 sometimes 5 days a week , what should i do to gain muscle pouns? thanks...

    sorry for my english.

  • yur 1 wierd dude

  • you better mean that in a good way

  • Hey Scooby,

    Another great vid congratulations!

So I've been watching closely your vids and your site, and I'm very thankful about them, about the Free info and free Tips.I also do most of my exercises at home or outside at the playground in my old school and this really helps me :-), and i LOVE to exercise!

So, I'll wait your next vid :-)

  • mm might add it to my routine seems pretty good. is it possible to gain a 6/8 pack while overloading on callories. im taking in about 4000-5000 callories a day and body building 5 times a week atm my 6 pack is only showing wen i tence my abs realy hard. im a slim guy and have been training for about 13 months with 4 month break (eurotrip) and gained 8kg in that time any1 wanna help with a 5 day workout plan i have plenty of time for the gym so help out :D

  • hey could you please make a video for bulking up my forearm

  • scooby has a forearm excerise i thinkif not just look on utube ul find heaps of excerises for em

  • Good video, I was able to buy a bow flex really cheap (100$) from someone who never used it, I was wondering if you had any experience with using one? so far i've only found it to be good doing pull-downs to work lats and only using the bench on it for dumbbell exercises.

Also, I can't seem to get my lower chest worked out like my upper chest. My workouts for chest right now are: flyers, incline flyers, barbell press. What exercise would you suggest? By lower I mean nipple and below.

    Thanks

  • Doing a video on the lower/upper chest thing in the next few weeks. A bowflex for $100 is a bargain, still takes up a lot of room though.

  • Yeah it takes up a lot of room that's for sure, have to keep it in the basement. Anyway thanks for the reply, I really liked your videos and subscribed, will be looking out for the upper/lower chest video =)

  • Scooby can you make a video on dips ? and i know this is too much , can you make a killer upper body weight workout ? and a lower body weight workout ?

  • id love that too.

Im told to put his hands on my hips

    and when I dip

    he dips

    we dip...

However, I dont think thats the way its done.

  • Good idea, I will try to do a dips video in the next few months ...

  • hey scooby awsome stuff. just wondering if u do any of the Olympic lifts? specially the clean and jerk? if so would it be possible to post a video on em for correct form? thanks mate

  • Thank you Scooby,

I've recently started lifting weights for about a month now.

By following your technique and workouts, I 've made an amazing progress especially with my chest.

    I have a question though.

I'm 18 years old, 133 pounds, and 5 ft 6. So i wouldn't considered myself fat. BUT I do have a big upper belly (right below my chest) and lots of fat in the areas of my lower belly and hips.

Should I try to lose those fat by losing weight first before training abs muscle?

  • You should lose the fat at the same time you are adding muscle, no need to work on the two projects separately. Please see my video on "Bulking up" for info on how to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time.

  • scooby do recommend a 15 year old doing weights but light weights dumbbells mostly?

  • I did try to email you but it blockedd me from sending and I ask you please add me as your friend and I will be able to email you much eaiser.

  • and that muscle dwarf? thats great

  • I was wondering what you would recommened for home use. I have an empty garage and i could purchase a bar and bits aslong as it would last

  • Hey Scooby do you think it would be safe to substitute the rated mountaineering rope with floss? With the economy in the shape its in right now I really cant afford expensive rope.

  • I'm not very conversant in medicine or injections. Do injections to the shoulder, hurt more if you have muscular side deltoids? I had injections as a child, and obviously my shoulders felt soft, like a clump of fat and it didn't hurt that much. I'm going to get a vaccine soon, and now my deltoids from years of working out is sinewy and muscular, will it be more painful? I'd imagine it would be tougher for the needle to hit the intended spot because of my large deltoids muscle..

  • Injections in the shoulder? My only experience is my tetanus shot I get every decade, doesnt matter how much muscle I have it always hurts for days. I dont think its the mechanical action of the injection that causes the pain but the bodies reaction to what was injected. Just get a good workout before the injection :)

  • Hey Scooby i subscribed you have awesome videos mate :)

    I have just 1 question.

I have stomach problem. My Upper Stomach (First 2 Abdominals) are actually Bigger then my lower chest. I heard lot bodybuilders have that problem.

So is there any way i can fix that or what should i do?

Thanks in front and sorry for my bad english :S.

  • Abs bigger (sticking out more) than your chest? Just learn how to flex/control them to keep them in the profile you want. You will notice that many pro-BBers when totally relaxed look terrible, like they almost are pregnant. However, when they flex their abs and tighten things up they have a thin rippling waist.

  • Doesn't the mechanical action contribute to the pain? The hollow needle going in your shoulder, and I imagine that when the shoulder having larger muscles, the needle will have to get through the tough, sinewy muscle. So it may hurt more in contrast to a shoulder with a smaller less muscular deltoid muscle.

I may be totally wrong in that the hollow needle doesn't go through muscle at all. Either way I'm incredibly scared at the prospect of having this injection!

  • Scooby Rocks, haha thanks for making ur vids interesting and fun at the same time!

Do you have any affordable diet suggestions?

  • Dude, his Lats could expand like wings and he could take off if he really wanted to. Shit's crazy!!! nice to see someone give helpful information instead of just showin off, good stuff.

  • @3:09 looks like u butt raping a hooker. GO SCOOBY!!!

  • LOL! Amazing!

    GO SCOOBY!!!

  • the "Gold's Gym" brand fitness accessories are great from what I've seen so far.Their prices are very reasonable and often cheaper than the other brands I've seen, yet are of higher quality. They seem like they were designed by someone who actually works out! I also bought one of their doorway pull-up bars for only about $11 @ Wal-Mart -A great deal but if you are handy and have some spare time you definitely can't go wrong saving some more $ and building some pull-up equipment Scooby-Style!

  • the good part about the pushup bars is that they are some of the best and cheapest fitness accessories you can buy. I would recommend trying a pair or even a few pairs out until you find which ones work best for you. You can probably even return the ones that don't work for you within 30 days of your purchase. -- I found a great pair of "Gold's Gym" push-up bars for only $5 or $6 @ Wal-Mart. They are superior in every way to the other Nike bars I bought some time ago.

  • Isn't it harmful to the spine?

  • yo scooby thanks alot,I appericate your work and help,Im sure it helps others too =)

    have a nice day

    ~Greeting axunia

  • I love you scooby. You've helped me tons.

  • Basically just wanted to say thank you very much, and to let you know I do plan on showing these vids to my workout buds, to help with our own form and exercises as well as diet. So great job and will always be on the lookout for more great videos!

    All the best,

    Ben from Georgia State University

p.s. You don't happen to be German/Jewish are you? You look like you could be part of my family if I didn't know better. ;) Anyway, thanks for the excellent vids and have an awesome day!

  • I'm dutch, pretty close to German/Jewish :)

  • Oh my really, can you speak it also?

And where to you live btw, if its not too personal.

Ive been much of 'fan' of yours for a long time ever since I saw your site.

Your tips really helped alot and are my main guidelines of working out.

  • Fantastic video, Scooby, both practical and informative! I've been watching your videos and reading your website for about a month now and it is definitely some of the best bodybuilding resources online. I have a question though that your website doesn't seem to address: you mention the wonders of Whey protein, but how do you feel about Casein? I have heard that it is often good to take it before bed because it is longer lasting than Whey. What are your thoughts?

  • hey thx alot for making your videos, they've helped me alot

  • if i can do an exersize with good form for example a dumbel curl more than 12 reps should i increase the weight

  • probably

  • will you please add me as your friend and i would be able to communicate with you by email very soon? i prefer to email you better in private than public.

  • U so great Scooby...thanks 4 the instruction...i was lookin for some lat workouts Thanks :D

  • Hey scooby, i got a question, are 2 a days bad?? Like if i have a weightlifting class at around 9:00 in the morning then i lift at home later that night would that be that bad for you????

  • If it's different body parts you could do it, make sure you get sufficient rest days for what you workout though. If you were to be working out say, Chest in the morning, then again in the evening I think you'd end up overworking yourself.

  • Is there any cheaper place to get one of your T-Shirts? I Know that sounds odd with them being only $20 but id like to be able to get one

  • Just want to say thank you for this. My form hasn't been bad at all, but now I'm being more fastidious than ever.

  • Hey everybody, I did a little research but couldnt find the answer to my question: suppose your not working out for a while when will your body start to reduce your muscle mass? I mean: does a 2 week business trip affect your muscles?

  • Comment removed

  • Scooby! I have been having an argument with my friend. He is saying that you should go fast when doing all your weight lifting excercises with no 0 rest in between reps. Example. Dumbell flat bench Military press. I have been saying to go slowly up and slowy down. Which is correct?

  • Comment removed

  • hi Scooby what do you think of dips? i set up two barstools with pushup bars on top which works very well. do you ever do dips/ feel they are worth your time?

  • hey scooby thanks for the imediate reply , but how can one eat that amount of chicken and fish !the Glomerulus filtration rate ( gfr) of the kidney for those kind of foods are high . do you know any reputable brands , other than gold standard or any otehr natural alternatives like legumes ? i think the GFR applies to LEgumes too !! that article essentially threw me off the rack ! Thank you for you r opinions

  • Hello scooby,

I feel that i should inform you about the article explaining on the ill effects of whey protein. the article is by Paul Chek and its titled as whey products. the best way is Google the keywords "whey products paul chek" and there is the article on the wannabe big forums. Now i know you are not a medical professional , but i wanna bring yur attention to this because you recommend using whey ! what are your thoughts about this ? expecting ur feedback !!

  • Hey hereisthankappan, it comes down to this. There is good protein and lousy protein. If it comes on a barge from a 3rd world country, its probably lousy. How do you know if your protein powder is krap? You cant, all you can do is rely on a companies reputation unless you have a lab at your disposal. There is nothing magical about protein powder or protein shakes anyway. Your best bet is to get your protein from a variety of sources, both plant and animal. Nothin wrong with chicken/fish

  • Chek mashes together several things.

For example, casein is about 80% of the protein in milk. Of any milk, raw or pasteurized. Casein intolerance and its side effects that Chek cites against pasteurized milk therefore apply to both.

You can buy cheeses made from raw milk, as coagulation stabilizes the cheese, and they are very tasty, but the producing dairies have to have to very high hygiene standards. Drinking raw milk kept in your not antiseptic fridge and kitchen would not be a good idea.

  • thank you evilcyber for the comment ! What concerns me other than that is wither to trust the why protein manufacturers. Now iam not talking about some third world hill billy brand , iam talking about teh brand scooby uses and recommends in his website ! Its one of the expensive brands and there is no definite method to justify their price, as they do not claim or guarantee that the powder is not made from Recombinant Bovin injected cows or in other words sick cows !!!

  • I understand your concern about that.

IMHO if you want to go the really safe way get your protein needs from organic foods. Otherwise you can either ask Optimum Nutrition about their policies concerning rBGH or import protein powder from the EU, where the use of rBGH is prohibited.

  • Evil cyber ......thank you once again ! i just found out some organic brands like goatein , Jay Robb's Pro optimal nutrition et cetera , all though its a lil expensive its better than importing from the EU . Lemme ask you this ! what protein powder d you use ? do you workout ! once again thank you for your valuable comments ( sorry for the bad English )

  • HEY scooby I wanted to ask you this for a long time.

Does massaging the muscle you are excercising during the excercise and afterwards actually help?

Because I've been told by a couple of people it is essential, yet I dont think you mentioned it ever at all.

  • Many people swear by their massage therapists and their chiropractors, I remain open-minded but skeptical about the benefits of either. Massage could help with muscle soreness but I doubt it will affect your ability to add strength/mass. On the personal side, when my muscles are really sore, like after a leg workout, I dont want ANYTHING touching me - even wind hurts :)

  • Hello scooby. First of all I want you to know that you motivate me to loose weight. These videos are very healthful for me. I just want to clarify things. I am 6 feet 170 lbs guy. I'm turning 27 this year. I'm concentrating to have 6 packs this year and I'm on my 2nd month going to the gym. I just started to get supplements this month. Would you consider for me to continue taking creatine and amino acid? I don't want to bulk up just add a lil muscle and nice 6 pack abs. Hope you can reply. TY

  • And also to add somethins. I have 36 inches of waist line. My belly is lying out. I do not know my body fat but I can tell that my stomach is big ^^. My arms aren't that big coz I was skinny when I was younger only that I have a big stomach: Any ideas on these? Continue to take creatine + amino acid and whey? and of course the 6 lil meals a day.

  • IMHO neither you nor anyone else should not be taking supplements! Please see my website under "Nutrition>Supplements" to see why.

  • Hey, I think I pulled my left bicep by doing pull ups. Either that or by doing dumbbell chest flies? What is the appropriate amount of time to allow a pulled bicep to heal? Funny video btw.

  • Bummer! Pulling muscles is not a fun thing. I'm not a doctor so I would be stepping way outside my area of expertise to advise you. It would really depend on how severe the pull is, you might be able to self treat with icing and ceased activity but I would have it checked out.

  • Thanks. Nah, it's not too bad. Getting better. The left bicep just ached for a while whenever I picked something heavy up. I guess what I was asking is, "have you ever pulled a muscle" and if so, which one and how long did it take to heal or for you to get back to lifting?

  • wow u look bigger than the last time!

im new to this exercise stuff is it okay if i do this everyday?

3 sets push ups, 3 sets crunches, 20 mins jogging

(morning) and repeat in the night everyday + barbel curls 3 sets

i heard that its bad to train some muscles everyday. What is that all about? What are the effects?

    THanks :)!

  • Hey can i ask u something? Are you building a plane in your garage?? I know its off topic but in some of your videos were you show us how to build equipment theres like a giant half finished plane in your garage

  • Scooby,

I have to say, I'm impressed with your videos. I'm new and have only watched a few but I am a new subscriber and fan. Great job and thank you for these. Keep these coming. Anything coming from your way is nothing short of valuable.

  • Scooby! Another great video! Inspirational and informative as always... and of course funny, love your humor haha!! I'm a loyal fan, follow all your videos bro! Just wanna say I appreciate what you do!

  • I want very much to meet you in person whenever you come to chicago and want to speak with you about workout and i want to inform you that i am profoundly deaf and dont understand what you are saying on the video. i would appreciate if you set up caption for the deaf to read and understand what you are saying.

  • Hey msiegal613, Profoundly deaf? Well, I'm a multi-media kind of guy! Check out my website, virtually ALL of the information in my videos is in text form illustrated with photos on my website. Sorry, but I dont have the resources to close caption my videos. Scoobysworkshop is one person, me, and I have a full time job in addition.

  • COOL

  • Why do you have your armpit hair? I was look forward to it.

  • Hey Scooby, how long did you take to get your chest heavy enough for them to hang down? I was born with seemingly tortilla-thin chest muscles before I got into exercising.

  • Took me 15-20 years to build my chest to its current size, havent changed at all (for better or worse) since age 40.

  • im finding it hard to build my chest since im having a pigeon chest its hard to get a decent pecs im on my forth year it did improved but still needs alot more time

  • From what I've read, pectis carinatum is really just a superficial issue, and usually doesn't involve any bone weakness. However, you probably know more about it than I do. Anyway, I find that I'm very satisfied with my pecs, and my regimen is strictly bodyweight exercise. Wide grip pull-ups and push-ups generally cover it for me. However, try some dumbbell flies, or a pull-up fly (you'll want Olympic rings or something similar to the Universal Strength Apparatus.)

  • Yes its superficial its not about the strength I do very well on my pecs workouts, its about the look, because that I have a big bones on my chest I need to build a big chest muscle to cover it and define my pecs, but yeah year by year its improving, thanks for suggesting pull-up fly I'll try it out!

  • I can see where you're coming from, and hope you can find a way to reach your goals. Patience is going to be your biggest hurdle there, but it sounds like you're pretty on track with it. Search for pull-up fly and universal strength apparatus (USA,) and you should get something. Also search for Body Weight Culture, especially if you want to find out more about the USA. Best of luck.

  • Thanks bro! I'll search for them!

  • scooby scooby dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • I just want to tell everyone that dont watch videos of EXPRET VILLAGE exercises. I was watching it the other day. The guy was doing dumbbell flys and not only that he was bending his arms but he said that you are suppose to bend your arms at 90degree. totally wrong.

  • very nice...thank you scooby1961 for your videos...they are really helping me....and nice body :)...post more videos:)

  • oh little david, you would humiliate a goliat

  • Thanks. Very nice video. But I would like to know what does this form differs from the standard wide grip pullup. Best

  • This is not only not wrong, it's absolutely necessary, otherwise you'll have injury problems in the long term cause of muscular imbalance. Antagonists (opposed muscles) must be developed parallely to agonists

  • Scooby the first example of bad form is absolutely hilarious. i love ur vids. nice to see someone make such great contributions online (on your website and on youtube) without charging people money -- as well as showing us all how to save even more money by not wasting it on unnecessary equipment. pullups rock

  • silentsneek - lifting heavier weights for fewer repetitions means you will gain mainly strength meaning you will be able to lift more poundage for your 1 rep. max for example.lifting fairly heavy weights in the 6-15 rep range will prob. create the most hypertrophy (muscle size gain) for you.lifting over 15 reps will mostly increase your muscular endurance. Strength, Hypertrophy & Endurance are all related but still quite different. which of those 3 categories r u looking to improve in the most?

  • Just muscle mass

  • hey silentsneek, everyone responds differently to certain repetition ranges but I think the most common range that works to achieve muscle size gains would be 6-15 repetitions. Scooby does a great job explaining this topic on his website, under the "basics" link. Try to vary your workouts and set/rep schemes to ensure your body doesn't stagnate and adapt to a certain routine, which would severely limit your progress. Check out Scooby's website and try one of his sample workouts!

  • hydralisk90 your instructor was correct in that you should never allow a muscular imbalance to develop by training one set of muscles and neglecting its opposing group. however this absolutely does not mean you have to train both muscle groups in the same session or day at the gym (or wherever you exercise). that being said, some people do find it beneficial to work-out opposing muscle groups in the same day, often as "supersets". the important thing is to keep your muscles balanced!

  • i was going to add some db rows to my pullup routine to make sure my upper back posture improves but after doing quite a bit of reading i found that a weak serratus might be my problem as i have winging scapula. i've read that declined pushups (with feet elevated roughly 1.5 feet) are even more effective than regular pushups at improving my shoulder/scap/back stablity. also this variation seems to be a great way to hit the upper pecs with just a bodyweight exercise.

  • the pushup bars on top of the barstools ensure that my wrists are preserved and also increases the height of your body so that you can dip all the way to the ground without the ground interfering or limiting the ROM. one must be careful not to place the pushup bars on the outer edge of the stools because the pressure your weight will exert sideways when you are going too wide can cause the pushup bars to tip over which could really hurt your wrists (i know from trial and error now).

  • pilot, when you do dips on push-up bars, do they slip a little during the dip or are they totally stable on the stool surface? I'm asking cause if it works I'll buy push-up bars (currently I do dips planting my hands on chairs)

  • Hi carlotapuig, it is very important to get pushup bars that have LARGE bases on the ends (the base length is more important than the width, because the longer the bases are, the less likely these bars will want to flip over when more of your weight is distributed on the side closest to your body when you are at the bottom of the dip movement. I bought a set of Nike bars and they were too instable because the bases were too short - the bars would tip over from uneven weight distribution.

  • thank you pilot, what you said about long bases sounds logical. I will follow your suggestion

  • i actually found myself to be weaker when doing dips than pullups - i was wondering what your thoughts were on dips as i noticed that you don't include them on your website. i found a neat way to do them at home that cost(s) no money - i take 2 kitchen/barstools and space them a foot or two apart and take my pushup bars and place them on top so that they are parallel to each other.

  • What is more important when working out, heavier weights or higher reps?

  • It depends on your goal. Butt i would say. Up your reps. After a long time heavier weights. Butt that's my opinion. Good luck with your work out. : ) Maarten

  • You should alternate the number of reps AND the weight. Any combination of reps and weight done for too long can lead to a plateau.

  • I have huge respect for you scooby, if i can be half the guy you are at your age id be stoked :)

  • that odd-headed loser in the beginning guy juices with his fuckin tities

  • You should do a forearm video

  • very informative and even entertaining

  • what kind of roids do u use

  • haha

  • Years of hard work is what he used.

  • it looks lyk hez humping in of the examplez ..

  • god bless you man

  • I laughed at the first example of bad form :) And "If you don't have the skills to make this safely then get help" could have been written with me in mind- For me "DIY" translates not as "Do It Yourself", but as "Dangerous Idea- Yikes!" My Physics is rather rusty, but it seems that the longer the rope, the more movement there would be of the handles, making the exercise more difficult. It's good to have you back, Scooby, and I hope your trip was good :) You didn't get any new hats though? ;)

  • Hey sexomaticveganfreak, love your version of DIY :)

  • I'm not strong enough to do unassisted pullups just yet (im about 40 lbs away from that) But you can be sure i'll be working this into my routine!

  • great video's Hans, some really good tip's

  • thanks scooby!! great video

hans: "ist das ein witz? was macht der eigentlich? was? was macht dieser saukerl? " xD

    hans rulez!!^^

  • Love the secure handle idea !! I'll definitely be making one this weekend.

  • the gnome is a know-it-all, has nearly no shoulder muscles himself though

  • The gnome may have no shoulder muscles but he is rock solid :)

  • Great video...............I have a multi-gym in the garage and with it came a double looped material strap (I hope you know what i mean. my question is....... would sitting on the bench of the multi-gym and pulling weight in a downward direction from overhead exercise the same muscle areas? Cheers, Eddie.

  • GREAT !!!!

  • scoob u bring alot of good!

  • great video please keep them coming you give great information you are very helpful.

I agree with everything you say in your videos and on your website.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Its not that you will not gain muscle or get joint pains if your a teen its just better to try to improve your cordination instead because you can improve your muscles through out your whole life but you can really improve your cordination mostly only when your in your childhood so you should focous more on playing basketball and socer and sports that involve cordination because it will be easier to learn when your young so start weight training when your like 21 or something.

  • hell no dude. my dads was a natural body builder.. im doing fine and i think he knows a tad more bit than mr. scoobs. no disrespect though to him i love his videos. but my dad is also an MD so he actually has some real facts on teens and body building...i dont wanna be a skinny kid till im 21. i started at 15 and im doing absolutely fine.

  • You are 15 and started at 15 and haven't had any problems YET? ;)

But, oh well, nobody says you have to follow Scooby's advice.

  • pero que tipo mas fuerrtee , pero que feeeoooooooo!!!! jajaj

  • scooby why dont u think people under 17 or 18 should work out...im 15 and doing fine gaining muscle even with just eating right. i think u shuold change that on your website because thats not always true people under 17 can not gain muscle. good videos though

  • He does not state that you cannot gain muscle because you can. He says that it is hard on your joints and he gets many complaints of people over the age of 20 saying that they could lift more when they were 18 or younger as apose to their current age. He thinks and many people do that if you're 18 years or older your body is more matured so it is better to workout. Go read the article again.

  • rnizio1 and echeverri1994 got it right about why I dont recommend bodybuilding under age 17, for the full reasoning please see my website under "Basics>TeensAndBodybuilding"

  • I love your videos, Scooby!

  • haha good form/bad form from the gnome was funny

  • Scooby, Your awesome man!! Thanks for this awesome workout video for the lats!

  • thank u for helping us in the bodybuilding training!

  • Does anyone know is ZMA a good bodybuilding supplement to take and is it safe?

  • IMHO, there is NO such thing as a safe supplement. They are completely unregulated and dont even need to satisfy the simplest toxicity tests. I could legally mix aspirin, caffeine tablets, and garden dirt in my dirty bathtub and sell it as "ultra-mega-gainer 2000"

  • thanks a lot for all yr videos men im going to start doing the exercises this week

  • nice scooby, youre physique is massive

thanks for all your workout vids, i learned alot from it and when i started about 5 months ago i didnt even know what dumbell flys were. Now my physique is getting better and better and I my weight went 8 pounds up! you rock scooby!

  • why do you get twitches

    HANS KICKS SERIOUS ASS!!!

  • You should try close grip pull ups usuing a towl some time. OUCH

  • A lot of people swear by towel pullups but I dont like them because for me my grip strength is the limiting factor and it causes me to stop the exercise before my lats are fatigued. If I want to work on grip strength, I will do it in a separate workout on a separate day - I dont want it interfering with my lat workout. If you have great grip strength, then I'm 100% in favor of the towel pullups though.

  • Hey Scooby

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I enjoy all your videos.

    I absolutely agree with you.

  • ahhh the old 1 2 shove it through technique

  • BEEFCAKE!

  • I do thank you for this video, I was thinking that just wide grip pullups were important.

  • Wide grip pullups ARE important, this narrow grip pullup is just another tool in your toolbox.
