This mini is great as it is short and sweet. I am working on a wedding mini of my niece's wedding at the moment. I made a very thick paper bag mini and I am only half way and it is way too chunky. I was also thinking of doing a black and white of some of the pics and this time I will stick to plot. Thanks for the inspiration.
@PrimaDonnaCraft Weddings are tough because there are so many photos! It's hard to pick ten favorites, but I think it's nice to have a small book to look through as well as a big album. I like both ways, though, which is why I have so many wedding albums!
Very beautiful! I love how you distressed your photos just the right touch on photoshop to match the colors of the mini! Having hubby journal on one of the journaling spots puts a very special touch on the overall album too! Great job! :-)
LOL! That is one of the problems with making the album first and then adding the pictures later. Sometimes you end up with a kind of weird embellishment on your page!
I love how it turned out in the end...I too get confused with how to create a mini-album without knowing what I'm ultimately going to place in it. I'm thinking I will have more freedom once I get pe.
Thanks, Jill! I create both ways. Sometimes I have pictures that I want to scrap a certain way, and sometimes I just want to play and have fun and trust that I will be able to find pictures later {like with this album}. Just do what you love and feels good!
Thanks! I didn't want to leave it a pure black & white because that seemed so harsh with all the distressed and aged papers. I wish Photoshop had a "convert to sepia tone" but it wasn't too hard to figure it out in the end. :D
I agree.....it would be nice to have bits of both in your memory book. My husband does a perfect Donald Duck imitation which has saved our marriage on countless occasions, after all, who can stay angry with someone that sounds like Donald Duck? We've tried to get him to chat duck with a video running...nothing doing. Can't do it!
By the way, I am addicted to your videos and am working on watching all of them. They are very helpful for a beginner like myself and I am learning so many techniques and getting lots of ideas. I also appreciate you mentioning the brands of what you are using, especially the tools- it helps me decide what to buy for my scrap room. I am about to buy a glass mat and use a box cutter like you do, great idea!!
Thank you so much ~ I'm so glad you're enjoying them! I definitely recommend a glass mat if you will be using a craft knife often. And if you don't already have a craft knife, box cutters are a good way to go ~ they will be cheaper in the long run, I think.
I had a question...how did you get the photo under the flourish chip piece? Did you use a knife and remove part of it and slip the picture below? Just wondering what technique you recommend if there is a big chip piece blocking where you want to place a photo? Thanks!
Yes, if there is an embellishment in the way, I usually slide a knife between it and the paper. Then I just glue it back down after I have finished placing my photos.
Really well done! Actually, I have had that very question, where to put the photos & such on a mini, though it's never stopped me from playing with them. Seems like when I add photos, that's ok, however, my handwriting is another story. I hate it....2 sloppy. How the heck did you get your husband to journal? Mine would sooner have a mani/pedi while discussing his feelings over tea for pete's sake!
Thank you so much! :D I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
My husband is actually very supportive of my scrapbooking and memory-keeping. I don't often ask him to participate, but he is happy to do so when I do ask. It's nice every once in a while to have something of him in the books!

Very beautiful Kathryn! I love that you changed the photo to black and white. Gives it that vintage look. Sepia is also a fav of mine.
