What's wrong with you? No one said he's the best drummer in the world. Don't compare him to metal drummers because he's in a punk band. His solos are pretty good. He's a great drummer and what the fuck would you know about how to play or hold thesticks properly? He can drum a good fucking hundred times better than you with the so called "wrong hold". True, he does have a huge drum set, but he also uses a much smaller kit for his side project Liquid Tension Experiment. I guarantee that if Portnoy was given a drum set the size of Barkers, he would do much more with it, instead of the same roll over and over and then go into a hip hop beat then back into the same roll. Not to sound sarcastic, but if you listen and watch, he does basically the same thing over and over in all of his videos. Not too groundbreaking there.

@NotoriousGEC That statement is irrelevant... You can't compare skill based on record scales. As seen by some of the crappy bands and artists that make it rich, you can't trust people's opinions. That being said, I absolutely love Travis and he's obviously phenomenal at his craft. However, people should respect the underground more, and make an attempt at finding some new bands. Don't rely on record labels to make your choices for you.

@deegdawg I'm not saying underground drummers suck because a lot of them are great, I have a lot of respect for them, however I know many of them would agree that they can't be compared to Travis. I realize "best drummer in the world" is a little intense, you can't title anyone the "best" until you've heard all of them. I'm not gonna go indie on him though. That just isn't me. We live in America, a lot of us are too lazy to care that much about the underground. People need to realize that.

Also, the underground grows stronger and stronger with social media. If you love music, why not find the perfect music that applies to you? Music is an ice berg. You only see the peak. I love Blink. I like Four Year Strong more. How did I find FYS. by looking at bands influenced by Blink. Stop being lazy

If you've been playing drums and think that Travis Barker is the greatest drummer then you must not be a very good drummer or be a complete retard. Playing for a long time doesn't make you good. In your case it means you have been learning the wrong kind of music. Travis Barker plays nothing but 4/4 timing and quarter notes. He can only play one genre of music. He's regarded among the lowest by skilled formally trained drummers. FAILURE.

Travis is an awesome drummer. He's a really awesome drummer.
Thing is, a lot of people(including me) think of Travis as too chill and laid back lookin(with the tats n stuff and just rockin) to be a professional percussionist(how a lot of people see DCI and WGI drumlines) who everyone sees all gussied up in the uniforms including all of them blocked up neatly all in sync with black hole straight faces.
