Your God isn't instituting rational rules like "Don't eat chocolate all day or stay up all night, because you'll feel sick the next day." He's making up ridiculous bullshit like "If two men fuck each other, kill them." and "If someone works on a sunday, kill them." or "If someone tells you to worship a god other than myself, kill them." Even if your God is real, he's more monstrous than any human being who ever lived, and deserves no worship or respect. What he would deserve is contempt.

What chops this guy has; his piano playing is exquisite...but to the Palestine-Jewish question:I'd posit the opposite of love is not hate but disinterest and it's squalid cousins:apathy and ignorance. To hate is to have one's emotions involved because both sides do not feel respected and/or honored in their respective viewpoints. That's the issue that truly needs to be addressed.

But at the moment there are radical Muslims who are killing anyone who disagrees with their world view, even other Muslims. Speaking about respect, I am an atheist - I do not believe in gods. According to what I've studied at school, an atheist is someone who don't believe in God. Yes, I know Zeus, who is a greek god. I know Thor, who is a god worshipped by the people in the Nordic Countries. Of course, a long time ago. Honestly, I don't know who Horus is. We studied about these at school and it was actually very interesting to learn what people worshipped before.

@OtokeOtoke - I think the biggest fear of the average person in western countries is the intolerance of personal freedoms found in Islamic nations - we don't want to lose any of our freedoms. It took centuries to seperate church from state to achive this so we don't want sharia law, etc. Some Muslims in England & Australia want sharia law introduced. For some reason the laws of these countries are not good enough for them, perhaps its is because they don't pander to religions?

It's just a small piece. The reason why the sharia are strict is because we shouldn't do bad things. It's normal to fear the laws.
