2. Why did Rio Tinto hire the governor of Michigan's communication manager who was in charge of communicating with the public during the permitting process for the Eagle Mine near Marquette Michigan? Why did it hire a State employee who reviewed and defended the Stat issued water permits? Isn't that a clear conflict of interest and unacceptable practice by any government outside of the third world?

...and also a major polluter and environmental brigand among mining companies. In fact, Rio Tinto is definitely near the top of the list for corporate skullduggery and general flouting of laws. They are, in a word, despicable.
