Its not natural, the stalactites DID NOT grow and be able to produce these notes. They grew, and then they were filed and cut by man to produce the right notes, so its a man made instrument. Saying this instrument is natural is like saying a statue is natural
@bmhall100 Ah but that is a conteractive comment, it could be condsidered natural since the tune is COMING from the stalactites themselves. Even if they were shaped to play the note, nature is helping create the music. So it is natural yet unatural in different ways.
@bmhall100 It is however, mostly natural. The scientist/musician who created it found all the notes of the musical scale, then filed them to produce the right tone of that note. Then he made all the machinery that taps them.
@bmhall100 But then nature had been tampered with to get the sound from the stactites to create the sound, so its man made. Its like the countryside in britain, most if it is man made, nature didnt put the hedges there in rows and make the square fields did it...
if this shit is for real...if music...actual music, not jus sounds.... are emulated through stalagmites, i am extremley interested. can some1 please give me more info?????????????
I have posted my video of the complete session of the tour, including the tour guide speaking. This is the largest NATURAL instrument in the world. They took the time to strike every stalagtite to find the ones with the correct pitch for playing this song"A Mighty Fortress is our God". Rubber mallots are connected to various stalagtites thru out the caverns and the actual room with the organ has 3 stalagtites that you can see the mallots striking individually. :) Hope my video helps u out!
This isnt the largest musical instrument in the world. it only controls 1000 stalactpipes at most, plus becuase it is spread over 3 1/2 acres doesnt make it biggest, that would mean is i was to spread a piano over 10 miles it would be the biggest instrument, NO!
the worlds largest pipe organ is the atlantic city convention ahll organ, it has 33114 pipes and 1235 stops. Google search for the Atlantic City Convnetion Hall Organ Society and u will get its website.

Its NOT natural, the sounds are man made! And the stalactites were shaped and filed down etc to produce the right note!

This is a truly "made from scratch" one.
By the way it sounds profoundly sweet, almost angelical; it makes me daydream.

It sounds like a harp.

I think that the size does not matter. The fact that this is an instrument created by nature is awesome enough fro anyone.

It isn't the world's largest instrument. But still, its really big, and a fantastic sound, I must visit here someday, thanks for posting.

The guy who invented the idea is a mathematician . Its a great concept and it works brilliantly as we can hear...
