  • Brilliant !

  • Just heard this now for the first time. All I can say is WOW!

  • wow no dislikes hope it stays that way

  • I was more into rock in the 70's but a lot of my mates were NS worshippers. I remeber getting talked into getting the bus from Dundee to Wigan Casino with them and had some of the best nights of my life. • hi, was wondering if anyone would be able to help me. ive been looking for a northern song now for a long time now but i cant rember who its by. some of the lyrics are

"you be alone in the night with your arms reaching out just to hold me tight

  • one word awsome!

  • ahh crap i really miss dancing, listening to all these old fav's has brought a tear to my eyes, honestly i'm disabled now but I was a half decent dancer at Wigan and in my head I still feel like I could just jump up and burst into dance that would show the kids a thing or two and probably have them gob smacked, if only

  • Yeah, it IS good. It's timeless, in fact

  • I think a lot of northern fans are moving on from this, but I think think this kind of sound identifies early northern soul. It's bloody good.

    Happy Days .

    KTF

  • All Little Anthony's recordings make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Uplifting and chilling at the same time, it lifts your spirits to listen to it, and gives you an adrenaline rush when you dance to it! Two "natural highs" for the price of one !

    Soul music at it's best.

  • @drwhatson too true mate

  • @drwhatson back up Junior, you sound like,

maybe you are an 'effiminate' and that doesn't

mean, you are the leader of the parade, it only

means that you dance with guys with 'beards'.

    That's not good, sparky.

You have no soul, you sound like you think

with you penis, and that's why you are called

'belly boy'. Stop getting adrnaline rushes from

males, Little Anthony hated 'boy fags'

  • @fntime WTF are you gagging on about, you bloody weirdo?? I have almost FORTY YEARS of Soul history as it happens. If there's anyone who doesn't get "an adrenaline rush" from dancing to Soul music, then they're dead from the neck down, as well as up! I was speaking from the heart - sorry if that embarrasses some of you more anally retentive Yanks, who evidently barely think at all!

  • @drwhatson Most Americans hate english, because

    they are tools.

I don't think that about you, I think you are homosexual

who is trying to regain his pride, self respect

and a bottom that isn't bloody from invasion.

Suggestion, 'Go home and get your fuckin'

    shine box'

  • @fntime ...whereas most English people don't hate Americans - we just think the "born again Christian Evangelist nutcases" (and those who believe in reincarnation) are complete morons - ring any church bells? Go set fire to yourself. It would make a pleasant change.

P.S. Your so-called "thoughts" are as interesting to me as those of goldfish, as my "bottom" is invasion free, thank you so much for asking...

  • @drwhatson I still think, you are an effiminate,

you are an eunch, bothering American men

and English women, they hate you, because,

you are a smug pedantic know it all prick,

perfect for a fag. "Now go home and get

    your fuckin' shine box"!

  • @fntime I may not "know it all", but I know enough about Soul music to make a valid comment without worrying what some nutter thinks about it.

P.S. We all know who you are by the way. Adopting several different pseudonyms doesn't disguise your appalling spelling and lack of intellect. You really should get a life - and while you're at it, maybe a dictionary...

  • @drwhatson how about, when I have a spelling

    problem, i contact you!

And when you have a problem with women,

I'm sure you have a micro penis, you contact

me! Has your women, ever experienced a

8" cock from a white man, I guess not!

    And, where's your shine box?

  • Comment removed

  • @fntime You appear to have a morbid and unhealthy obsession with other people's reproductive organs and sex lives! Perhaps you should go away and read your barmy Creationist literature for a while, as you know nothing about me and your increasingly hysterical fantasies are becoming tiresome in the extreme. I suggest you chill out and listen to some music, before you expire from sexual frustration.

I have NO idea what a "shine box" is, and have even less desire to know. Go away you silly man.

  • @drwhatson I guess that's one way of looking at! Would you reread your comments, you are such a tool! I think about the poor guy, who has to sleep with you! Poor Bastard! Your friend Patricia e-mailed me, she said, that you are the laughing stock of your village. Your own people laugh at you, now, you have the whole world laughing. Patricia said, you have an problem with young boys, hey each to their own. Degenerates come in all flavors, you are a sad lad!
  • @fntime You are truly, truly, TRULY barmy. I have no "friend named Patrica". I live in a city, not a so-called "village" and I don't "sleep with any guy". Did your invisible rabbit friend Harvey tell you all this? You are f*****g NUTS mate! Go and ask your shrink for a different set of tablets, 'cos this lot ain't working.

  • @fntime ...as for the "world laughing at ME", I beg to suggest otherwise... Maybe you should read some of the messages people have left on your own channel.

hondatom777 says that you are: "maybe one of the most stupid people on Youtube", I however would certainly nominate you 'Numero uno'.

  • Comment removed

  • @fntime Ive had an 8 inch cock off a white man :D

  • @fntime you are an idiot, most english love the old soul and it was the english who led the modern world against racism.......american soldiers who in america were treated like crap during world war 2 were made welcome in England in a tolerant society that understood equality...................love a little.. and if you are a black american you should love the Brits...we love you

  • @mlcll1 dude, you are very stupid, but if you

like soul, british or usa, look up my playlists,

John's Favorites, I love soul music, why,

because, it is real emotion, something, that

your comments lack! Lighten up dude,

I've forgotten more about music, than you

    ever knew!

  • @fntime are you better now, some of your comments were manic and probably under the influence i am 47 now an have been a soulie [white] since i was 11....... i know shit loads about soul.......i got married to an o jays song......sunshine ..look it up classic soul

  • @mlcll1

love this --- still sounds great!

  • Remember getting a lift home from Dave Godin, and getting a very brief mention in Blues and Soul. Thought I was soooo cool, which means I wasn't. What a gent, sadly missed.

  • I second that - a true gentleman of Soul - sadly missed .This track is a perfect tribute to Dave - RIP

  • Who is Dave that you are referring to?

  • 'geator' The references are to Dave Godin - the 'Blues & Soul' writer who initially coined the phrase "Northern Soul", and who was the first (and at that time only!) Soul journalist to give any coverage and respect to the fledgling Northern scene. His influence on an entire Soul generation was incalculable.
