  • you make it sound as it does if I could play it in my dreams!

  • schitterend nummer!!!!

  • bravissimo!!!

  • Beautifully played:-) Nice!

  • Magnifique, bravo.

  • very enjoyable.

  • It just occurred to me, that it will be up to the Asians to save the West from its self hatred of all that is beautiful about Western civilization. No Asian ever came up with the stupidity of "modern social science." Sure, many Asian countries fell victim to Marx, but their own wisdom has taken part in purging the worst of the West, yet kept the best of it. Maybe there is still hope. The West worships primitivism, and throws away our best, keeps the worst. Asia you soldier on.

  • @soco13466 I appreciate the spirit and humanity of what you have written...but it is total rubbish that makes no sense whatsoever. People speak for themselves as individuals not as some kind of unified culture or "race" that is operated by some master brain. And music is but one small component of any given named civilization and certainly does not encapsulate such a pointed viewpoint as you have posited.

  • @bigmandrel : Maybe you're right in a way, but there is a tendency in the West to "think" in groups." I have met many from Asia, and they tend to do as we used to in the West; adapt the best from all cultures. We have now in our "culture" this "self hatred," and it shows in our arts. I have the greatest respect for Asians, because they try harder. You don't like my opinions? Well, open your eyes. the West is in full "destruct" mode, due to this stupid self guilt mental illness. Read the news.

  • QUOTE: "he has not got a sufficiently developed mature psche (from having loved and lost; from being in love and the rest of it) to impart the sinuous, emotion-filled phrases and deep silence of the motifs in this piece."

Seriously? Go pound sand you ignorant, sanctimonious, and self-righteous prig. People like you are the proximate/precipitate cause of why praise band music has taken over and fine young organists like this one are in short supply.

  • You are very right. Praise band music has over run services today. But don't be too hard on the guy. You as well as I know, it's much easier to critisize than play. The poor thing probably wishes he played that well. The kid did a very nice job. His performance will only get better. Look at him? He can barely reach the pedals and he playing so well. Bravo kid-BRAVO!

  • Couldn't agree more with all you said. ;-)

  • Merci à toi : quelle délicatesse.

Thank you for your music played with the softness of your heart.

    Thierry

  • sounds great. congratulations.

  • who is playing? Where? When?

  • pretty nice performence.

  • Very nicely done, sir!

    Imperfect? Too mechanical? Oh, well...

I certainly appreciate that much of the interpretation is discreetly left to me, the audience. The magic is not out there publicly in the air, it takes place inside me in a very intimate way, instead. Among all the other much renowned artists' on youtube, this is the version closest to me so far. I can't explain better.

    Thank you!

  • it sounds too robotic, please play with more feeling! it is a romantical peace!

  • bravo pianorgano!!! I've a transcription of this prelude, fugue and variations for PIANO.... marvellous!!! You're a very good organist ;) good luck!

  • I love hearing this before holy mass . It is a great to listen and meditate at the same time .

this young man has a great talent and he plays excellent . thank you for playing such a great music.

  • This is really awesome playing. Thank you for posting. I love Franck's music, and you have truly done it justice.

  • I know this is a performance by a young organist. Therefore, he has not got a sufficiently developed mature psche (from having loved and lost; from being in love and the rest of it) to impart the sinuous, emotion-filled phrases and deep silence of the motifs in this piece. However, the sound which he has chosen is lovely indeed and suits his years. In time, when he has grown-up much more, this performer would be a force to be reckoned with. Well done!

  • Oh stop it already. Who are you - the world's watchdog?

  • What's wrong with a diapasonal bourdon ?

  • Sir,

Though it is obvious that you are of good intention and meaning, I really must disagree with you. Your comment about 'psyche' seems very condescending; I am a 'young person', about the age of this performer, and I have a great fiery passion for music.

My conviction is one of love and 'experience', or so-called wisdom, which you proclaim is only a thing that older people are in possession of. I protest in good nature, and ask that you have more faith in the human soul - at any age!

  • Magnifique interprétation. Quels registres sont utilisés?

  • Le hautbois, pour le dessus, tuyaute pour la voix moyenne, et des cannelures et des principaux plus bas pour la pédale

  • Bravo!

    Thank you

  • I'm the Organ Scholar at our Cathedral and my friend introduced me to your videos. You are the BOMB! It would be great to have you here in New Zealand.

  • You are very very good, Your interpretation is very nice ,and nice sound modulated just Ok, to listened.

    Congradulation, Jack.

  • You're great! Keep this way :-)

  • This is beautiful! And the player so young! This moving piece is great, as everything written by C. Franck. By the way, what's this thing about the rubato mentioned by keraulophone? Rubato should be used freely! If you don't feel like it, just don't do it!

  • Thank you very much! Maybe keraulophone tried to refer to way that Xaver Varnus interpreted the piece at St. Sulpice. But to me the fundamental of tempo making cannot be sacrificed for the freedom of rubato.

  • @pianorgano Bravo you play very good Bravoooooo!!!!

  • Excellent interpretation. The tempi are just right IMO.

  • You play very nice, but I actually think you can improve on your rubato. You almost use none, but Franck should be played with much rubato! This music is drama!

  • Captivating. Bravo, young man.

  • I really enjoyed hearing this. The young man has certainly attended to his lessons well. The registrations are beautiful. He makes fine music here. Bravo!

  • Very very nice pieces, and wellplay, and very nice to listened too, Félicitations Jack

  • excellent performance. how well this piece sounds on the piano as well.

  • This young master is just too much! I hope he is playing regularly at a church somewhere because he is needed and wanted in many corners of the world where this quality of music is highly valued and appreciated. BRAVO to you, young man! You should have no trouble earning your tuition.

  • Merci, je compare les différentes versions sur You tube et vous êtes le premier à me toucher! Belle sensibilité, merci!

  • yes it is!

  • well doneeeeee , this version is beautiful thx.

  • Sounds like Castlevania :D

    ...or Castlevania sounds like this.

  • Very impressive. The prelude was very beautiful, and thank you for not ruining it by playing too fast as so many seem wont to do! I still wonder whether the tempo of the variation should match the prelude; Franck simply marks both sections "andantino". I would like just a shade off the variation's tempo, I think.

How nice to see a young organist not too wrapped up in his own ego to let the music speak; there are too many examples of this these days.

  • I love it! great job! I'm planning to do a cello and guitar arrangement! it's an awesome piece!

  • Of course, I prefer organ.

  • Good job. You're my new hero. I just started learning organ one year ago, and I'm learning this piece right now.

  • On a... piano???

Let me imagine.... It would be wonderful!

  • It is wonderful, no matter if it may be considered less wonderful than organ version. The piano trancription is beautiful. :)

  • Franck originally composed this set for piano and reed-organ (harmonium). The other versions are transcriptions made by the composer.

  • that's right.

  • Very good!! Keep up the good work!

  • süper gerçekten very good

  • WON-DER-FUL performance. I love this peace and I'm so happy that you play it so well. I love how you manage to recreate this atmosphere of immobility and quietness that make this piece so deep. Thank you.

  • Excellente interpretation!!!!Tres bon organiste !!!!!admirable!!!En plus, tres agreable on est dans la morceau!!!!!

  • Not bad! But why are you playing the Variation faster than the Prelude?

  • Because it is variation and I don't want to be rigid to the tempo and it should be variant to the main theme and it is my style. The music did not indicate that I have to play the same tempo.

It is just matter of taste; not right or wrong.

  • ROFLMAO, that would have been my response as well! Variation - Go figure! Well said, pianorgano.

  • @pianorgano @pianorgano Bravo you play very good Bravoooooo!!!!

  • Wow! At least there is someone out there who don't kill this wonderful piece by speeding it up! I've heard several recordings, but I think even professors play too fast. But, off course, that's my opinion...

  • Wonderful performance! Love the registration as well.

  • Just really wonderful sound. Thanks for this nice piece. Excellent. 5 stars+

  • Very Good! Good tempo and registration, thanks for sharing!

  • I'm a great fan of the music of Cesar Franck, and hearing this beautiful rendition of the P,V,&F has made my night. Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you very much for this. You're a great organist.

I hope shortly to begin studing at least the prelude part.
