You should have tried smoking a little bit of a joint. It probably would have lessened your nausea and made you feel more like you could eat. Not to mention lifting spirits and possibly taking your mind of the aches you were having. Who knows, it could also help with the pain from your condition. It is nice to see you so self aware in your withdrawl though. A lot of people get irrational and just give in. Whether you need Jesus to kick or not good for you... Though, with my condition I find they are a true blessing. You just can't abuse them. Like anything on this earth if it's food to a alcohol drink to money or prescribed drugs. As a dental student, I wanted to respond to his comment about his oxycodone use interferring with dental treatment. Untrue. Local Anesthetics are used for 99% of dental treatment when anagelsia is indicated. Opiate narcotics do not interfere with local anesthetics in any way, period. He could have a filling, or a tooth extraction w/o any trouble whatsoever. As far as post-op pain goes, the dose he takes for his disease pain will more than take care of that. Ignorant statement on his behalf.

I'm 23 and have been abusing any painkillers I could get my hands on for the past year. It all started when I found a friend of mine stealing my grandmother's vicodins. The fact that I had been in a serious car crash and have had painful back problems ever since piqued my curiosity as to how someone would go to such a length to get these pills. Not long after that I had found someone who sells them locally and I was hooked almost instantly. I want to tell my parents. What should I do??
@shwaig1 Tell your parents, get into a detox where you can be weaned off them under the supervision of a medical staff. It won't be fun, but are you having fun now? It never gets better and buying them off the street or stealing can easily land you in jail. You don't want to detox in jail.

@junerose621 you're right, but percocet has acetaminophen in it. Roxycodone is the 15mg and 30mg pills that can also be called oxy's because they are only oxycodone. The main ingredient in Oxycontin is oxycodone, thus it can be referred to as Oxy's in slang.
@ahngination OK, gotcha...I was given oxycodone for about 2 years and then switched to the 30 mg. oxycontin. Off all the crap now, did it privately and took me about 2 straight weeks to get my body rid of all that stuff. Best thing to do is never get started on them.

pain pill withdrawl suxs ass. i been there, now im on suboxones and they help wonders, when i take suboxones i have no withdrawls and dont even want a pill, the worst withdrawl ive ever been thru was coming off opana 40's, after the 2nd day is when you really feel it, on christmas day last year i was rushed out by ambulance for throwing up blood, i couldnt eat,sleep, i couldnt walk, my wife had to help me sit up in bed. good luck dude, you can do it, you j ust have to want it bad enuff. godbless

Ive gone through withdrawals from most opiates and in my opinion, its easier to do it from the shorter half-life ones, I.E. heroin, or fentantyl. it may get more intense more quickly, but you wont be dopesick for weeks like buprenorphine (suboxone), or methadone. The 240 mg per day blew me away. That's stupid. {No offense.} I was an addict/alcoholic 15 yrs and a S.A. counselor for 15 yrs but 240 mg per day? Dumb. I was lucky. I'd go so far and then I'd stop. Go to rehab. Something. There's an invisible line you don't want to cross. You do heroin for more than 2 yrs and it becomes hard to feel joy again. Receptor sites. Dopamine. Tolerance. All that. I hit 31. I had a choice. I wanted to do something with my life. Watch it. There IS a point of no return.

I mean I think the body can only metabolize so much and the efficacy of something like oxycodone has a "threshold" level i.e.-I don't think more than a certain amount in a certain time frame is going to be beneficial. If you're taking more than 100 mg a day you should be on dilaudid or fentynl {sp}. Withdrawal. I guess.

Ive done every opiate out there and hae struggled with addiction pretty much my whole life. I recently discovered a knock off of oxycontin called opanasor op's. Way better than the oxy's and yes they can be broke down but by far the worse withdraw ive ever been through. If you people havent heard of the drug Suboxone, you really should check it out. I started taking it and I had zero withdraw. This drug is amazing. It really works. Ive been clean now for 4 months and it has been great.

My entire family has given up on my brother, I have moved him in with me to try and get him clean.....he has stolen from me, gone to his job that i got him high as shit....and now since I won't do anything for him has accused me of some serious crimes to try and get my kids taken away.....With his record of armed robbery and me being a law officer , nobody believes him, but i am at a loss

I am a minister and you did a great job here,my brother;I was injured 3 years ago when hit in the back of my head by a swinging metal kitchen door in a restaurant.I lost my vision instantly when struck in the occipital area.I have had 24 doctors since for a cracked spine,traumatic brain injury,etc.Yet I still travel and preach though I must take oxy to handle mind-erasing pain.I am using Xian music to keep myself going and trying not to take anything more for the pain.God bless you...G
I am 40/m had bi-lateral hip replacement due to A-Vascular necrosis and I can tell you that everything he described is true! I was prescribed an ungodly amount of this medication and I have stopped cold turkey. I would not wish this pain and withdraw on anyone. Please if you are reading this. Stop! Think! Ask? @chris12345567890152 No your not. I was on 240mg's of oxy for 4 years. I quit cold turkey and after 3 days I relapsed because the withdrawals were so bad. Then my doctor prescribed subutex. It was a miracle! I had to go through 48hrs of withdrawals... then at the peak I took one and all withdrawals stopped immediately, I'm talking INSTANTLY GONE!. Talk to your doctor about it, it's for real and it works.

@yankeefan369 actually morphine is the only painkiller with no ceiling dose..meaning u can keep giving it regardless of mg, dose is dependent on a patients respiratory rate and blood pressure..however hydromorphone (dilaudid) is the strongest opiate, but this is based on weight as in a mg per mg basis..this guy claims oxycodone is a high grade heroin..that is rediculous..as far as withdrawl i came off methadone 150mg/day in a 2 month taper..was on it 10 years for pain control..longest w/d time!

I broke my leg extremely bad and had a lot of surgeries. I would take 15mg of oxy every 3 hours. withdrawl is hell, especially when you still ache and hurt. Motrin isnt doing as well, but ive gone through stuff like this and i hope i can get through this. God bless you

Relatively small dosage I know, but I have been using it for 5 years. I tried to just stop but I started to get bad withdrawals after 12 hours. I also tried subox but I had trouble stopping that. If you have a hard time with opiate withdrawl NEVER start taking benzodiazapines (Xanax, Vailum) the withdrawl is way worse and lasts way longer than any opiate, heroin included.
@Felderos You have to be kidding me. I took 2 mg Xanax a day for only 3 months and stopped cold turkey. Almost fucking died. Benzo withdrawl is far more serious than opiate withdrawl.

My older brother has been addicted to oxycontin for 13 years. He splits hairs telling my younger sister and I that he is not addicted to it...he is dependent...(for pain management) He states that he isn't pyschologically addicted and thus he isn't an addicted.
My younger sister and I are believers...my brother has had many mercies from the Lord but remains unbelieving and hard in his heart to God.

my brother dropped 6 oxy 80's, and 12 xanax bars. His body ceased to live. They say it was an OD but I never heard of him taking those amounts. I think it was suicide because of this. Please dont leave the ones you love with deep seeded questions like this because honestly it makes ME want to take pills. Not Cool.
also xanax gets rid of the hand shaking and restless leg , insomnia, even the sweating. it doesn't fully take the withdraws away but it 90% makes going through the withdrawal so much easier , you actually want do do things not just lay there in your bed sweating having the worst attitude to people who dont deserve it. i know this from personal experience and i thought to try taking xanax because the withdrawal reminded me just of anxiety symptoms and sure enough it really did made it bearable!

I was taking Oxytcotin for 5 years 200 mgs per day. Sometimes more. They were prescribed for sure but I also was hooked. TWO MONTHS ago I quit cold turkey. YES 8 weeks ago. Today I sit at my desk and I still am having an upset stomach and frequent bathroom breaks. I lost weight and never feel hungry but force down what I can. My energy level is still very low and I am not sure how much more of this I can take but I am never going back on them, What if anything can help my stomach?

Really touching, I was recently in a car accident and suffered nerve damage in my spine I am in so much pain that I have lost interest in all life activities.
I was prescribed oxycodone and am taking 10mg, but often take 20-25 and am wanting to take more. At first this was a miracle drug which helped so much but now I enjoy the drug recreationally and think I may be having a problem. This video inspired me to quit before it gets too out of hand. The withdrawals even from 20mg can be tough.

I know someone who has been taking oxycodone and percocet's for years. I've never seen him wince in pain ever. I blame the doctor that keeps giving them to him. I actually hurt my back last month to the point I couldn't walk. The gave me neproxeb and 5/325g oxy/aspirin. It hurt for a good month and sine has passed. You have to suck up the pain sometimes.

What you are describing is not addiction, it's physical dependence. Huge difference. If you'd have asked your doctor to taper you off the opioids, you could have avoided most of the withdrawal symptoms. As it is, you don't look at all like the people I've seen withdrawing from opioids. Your pupils aren't even dilated. If only I could say it was hard for me. Don't get me wrong I did go through withdraws a lot of times. It hurts, I just couldn't take doing it anymore. It started out with 1 here and there then a co-worker at a shop taught me how to smoke them. 2 years later I was doing 20+ roxies a day. One morning I was at my connects house tattooing and her phone just kept ringing, but it's the way that she spoke about them that made see who i was. i was that person calling every 10 minutes. So I stopped.

I loved watching your video... thank you! 14 days ago I felt God tell me the same thing... and have been pill free ever since! The process has been so incredibly painful - on levels i did not know exhisted. However, the Grace of God has pulled me through and I am pushing through. With video's like these... it helps to know that I'm on the right track :)
I also had a severely painful disorder and got wickedly addicted to oxycodone and hydromorphone as a result... I found self hypnosis really helped me manage my withdrawal symptoms. Obviously it didn't cure them, but it cut them back by about 50-75% and helped me deal with my anxiety over them.
I was on 10 5mg oxycodone tabs a day for a week. The second week I cut it down to four tabs a day. On the third week I went cold turkey. During the time I was cutting down and going cold turkey, I got between 2 and three hours of sleep per day. For a while after that I was tired all the time from withdrawals. Six months prior to that I was on five 50mg tabs of tramodol tabs per day. Felt like demons around me oppressing me. Slowly I regained my energy back and depended on God a lot.

You should have tried smoking a little bit of a joint. It probably would have lessened your nausea and made you feel more like you could eat. Not to mention lifting spirits and possibly taking your mind of the aches you were having. Who knows, it could also help with the pain from your condition. It is nice to see you so self aware in your withdrawl though. A lot of people get irrational and just give in. Whether you need Jesus to kick or not good for you... As a dental student, I wanted to respond to his comment about his oxycodone use interferring with dental treatment. Untrue. Local Anesthetics are used for 99% of dental treatment when anagelsia is indicated. Opiate narcotics do not interfere with local anesthetics in any way, period. He could have a filling, or a tooth extraction w/o any trouble whatsoever. As far as post-op pain goes, the dose he takes for his disease pain will more than take care of that. Ignorant statement on his behalf.

Ive gone through withdrawals from most opiates and in my opinion, its easier to do it from the shorter half-life ones, I.E. heroin, or fentantyl. it may get more intense more quickly, but you wont be dopesick for weeks like buprenorphine (suboxone), or methadone. Subs arent the miracle drug theyre cracked up to be if you intend on stayin on it. Just use it for a few days to get through the acute withdrawls from a short half-life opi

I mean I think the body can only metabolize so much and the efficacy of something like oxycodone has a "threshold" level i.e.-I don't think more than a certain amount in a certain time frame is going to be beneficial. If you're taking more than 100 mg a day you should be on dilaudid or fentynl {sp}. Withdrawal. I guess.

Ive done every opiate out there and hae struggled with addiction pretty much my whole life. I recently discovered a knock off of oxycontin called opanasor op's. Way better than the oxy's and yes they can be broke down but by far the worse withdraw ive ever been through. If you people havent heard of the drug Suboxone, you really should check it out. I started taking it and I had zero withdraw. This drug is amazing. It really works. Ive been clean now for 4 months and it has been great.

@yankeefan369 actually morphine is the only painkiller with no ceiling dose..meaning u can keep giving it regardless of mg, dose is dependent on a patients respiratory rate and blood pressure..however hydromorphone (dilaudid) is the strongest opiate, but this is based on weight as in a mg per mg basis..this guy claims oxycodone is a high grade heroin..that is rediculous..as far as withdrawl i came off methadone 150mg/day in a 2 month taper..was on it 10 years for pain control..longest w/d time!

I'd appreciate help with this matter: Is it possible to go from 15 mg oxycottin/day to nothing in 30 days without major withdrawals? Relatively small dosage I know, but I have been using it for 5 years. I tried to just stop but I started to get bad withdrawals after 12 hours. I also tried subox but I had trouble stopping that. If you have a hard time with opiate withdrawl NEVER start taking benzodiazapines (Xanax, Vailum) the withdrawl is way worse and lasts way longer than any opiate, heroin included.

My older brother has been addicted to oxycontin for 13 years. He splits hairs telling my younger sister and I that he is not addicted to it...he is dependent...(for pain management) He states that he isn't pyschologically addicted and thus he isn't an addicted.
My younger sister and I are believers...my brother has had many mercies from the Lord but remains unbelieving and hard in his heart to God.

also xanax gets rid of the hand shaking and restless leg , insomnia, even the sweating. it doesn't fully take the withdraws away but it 90% makes going through the withdrawal so much easier , you actually want do do things not just lay there in your bed sweating having the worst attitude to people who dont deserve it. i know this from personal experience and i thought to try taking xanax because the withdrawal reminded me just of anxiety symptoms and sure enough it really did made it bearable!

I was taking Oxytcotin for 5 years 200 mgs per day. Sometimes more. They were prescribed for sure but I also was hooked. TWO MONTHS ago I quit cold turkey. YES 8 weeks ago. Today I sit at my desk and I still am having an upset stomach and frequent bathroom breaks. I lost weight and never feel hungry but force down what I can. My energy level is still very low and I am not sure how much more of this I can take but I am never going back on them, What if anything can help my stomach?

Really touching, I was recently in a car accident and suffered nerve damage in my spine I am in so much pain that I have lost interest in all life activities.
I was prescribed oxycodone and am taking 10mg, but often take 20-25 and am wanting to take more. At first this was a miracle drug which helped so much but now I enjoy the drug recreationally and think I may be having a problem. This video inspired me to quit before it gets too out of hand. The withdrawals even from 20mg can be tough.

thank you for opening up your life, to help others to know what people go who have a physical addiction to the pain medication, because of having to take them for long periods of time for health conditions.i was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 25 yrs old. its been 11 yrs of taking different pain meds. i am going off of mine too.. im going to hope for the best, i want to be completely medication i feel its hindering me in ways spiritually.

I know someone who has been taking oxycodone and percocet's for years. I've never seen him wince in pain ever. I blame the doctor that keeps giving them to him. I actually hurt my back last month to the point I couldn't walk. The gave me neproxeb and 5/325g oxy/aspirin. It hurt for a good month and sine has passed. You have to suck up the pain sometimes.

If you need higher and higher doses for pain its because your condition is worsening. The bumping up crap is because people seem to think if they don't have a buzz the medicine isn't working so they say they hurt worse. You became addicted because you chose to enjoy the medicine. The pain killing propertys do not exactly change like so many of you people seem to claim and give this great medicine a bad name. I've been on them for a long time have taken every prescription opiate there is and abused each and can say I still get good relief from 10mg of just hydrocodone but I enjoy

What you are describing is not addiction, it's physical dependence. Huge difference. If you'd have asked your doctor to taper you off the opioids, you could have avoided most of the withdrawal symptoms. As it is, you don't look at all like the people I've seen withdrawing from opioids. Your pupils aren't even dilated. Are you sure you're not just trying to scam people into converting to your religion? I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure Jesus discouraged his followers from lying.

If only I could say it was hard for me. Don't get me wrong I did go through withdraws a lot of times. It hurts, I just couldn't take doing it anymore. It started out with 1 here and there then a co-worker at a shop taught me how to smoke them. 2 years later I was doing 20+ roxies a day. One morning I was at my connects house tattooing and her phone just kept ringing, but it's the way that she spoke about them that made see who i was. i was that person calling every 10 minutes. So I stopped.

im fckin dying. i got a bad back and neck, im prescribed 90 perk 7.5''s and 90 mscontin 30mgs and anbien, i ran out of everything 5 days ago, havent slept since, my body is in shutdown minus every joint in my body achin and the thought of suicide every ten minutes..i dont go to the doc until 4 more days. im at the point where if i make it till then i might be clear. ive been on opiates for 7yrs.good luck to all. i dont wish these feelings on my worst enemy. Thank you so much for sharing your journey of detox. You enspired me to continue withmy own detox process off Norcos. I was taking around 10 or so pills a day that were perscribed to me for pain. You are right Jesus is the answer. when I was into my second day of withdrawl my bones felt like they were cracking and splitting and the vomiting and stomach cramps began I became dehidrated and was rushed to the hospital for IV. I just started parying to jesus and I made it thorough it.

The process has been so incredibly painful - on levels i did not know exhisted. However, the Grace of God has pulled me through and I am pushing through. I also had a severely painful disorder and got wickedly addicted to oxycodone and hydromorphone as a result... I found self hypnosis really helped me manage my withdrawal symptoms. Obviously it didn't cure them, but it cut them back by about 50-75% and helped me deal with my anxiety over them.

I was on 10 5mg oxycodone tabs a day for a week. The second week I cut it down to four tabs a day. On the third week I went cold turkey. During the time I was cutting down and going cold turkey, I got between 2 and three hours of sleep per day. For a while after that I was tired all the time from withdrawals. Six months prior to that I was on five 50mg tabs of tramodol tabs per day. Felt like demons around me oppressing me. Slowly I regained my energy back and depended on God a lot.
