  • this made a lot of sense and you really should make it a family effort to eat healthier but without forcing the other members of the family remember the women sets the tone for the household & if your bringing junk into the household you only set your babies up to follow in the footsteps of poor eating habits. I like how you communicate you seem to carry a beautiful spirit.

I've said all of these things before and I believe that if you're on a path to healthier choices, your family should join you because you *need* the support. Unsupportive people just make you want to give up. You inspired me to create my own channel to vlog about my new diet and exercise routine.. I feel like it will hold me accountable.   • I have seen the same videos and I agree that some people seem to be dreaming if they think that they are losing weight. I have gain weight this past year and I say I don't diet (I am a chef) and with my work it would make it hard because you have to taste your food to adjust seasonings. But I would change my house hold eating if I decided to adjust my lifestyle eating because my kids would have to follow along with me. Did that make sense?

  • First you are so beautiful.  Now my opinion is this, if you know the path that lead you to bad eating habits why would you want your kids and family to suffer that. Haven't anyone noticed that this country is struggling so much to push towards good health starting in childhood. Listen to our first lady she even had to account for her girls. Kids mainly learn by example.

  • I understand what she's saying. Realistically, if a person is on a diet or really lifestyle change then you should be able to see some progress. It might be very slight. Part of the journey should include any setbacks whether its because of themselves or because of a health issue that might arise. These types of things should be discussed when making a video diary based on weight loss.

People made the shit into way more than it was and I have noticed I have some fence riders if you are on both sides thats fine but I rather you jus not say anything and let it ride.   • I understand what you are saying, but when you have a spouse or kids you cant make your lifestyle their lifestyle. I've gone through this before...I told my husband I would bake chicken instead of fry and like he said"I'm on the diet, not him and the kids" So therefore I still had to buy the stuff that I shouldn't eat and cook the way I shouldn't. Temptation will always be there but your true test only comes when your faced with temptation...its easy to stay on track when there are no obstacles

  • Starting out my husband told me ,you losing weigjt not me so I can't control what he eats he's not overweight I am so I have to work on me and slowly transition them.Why let my kids be subject to being teased about their weight when they get older.No I may not be able to change my husband but the kids I can control what is put in their body.If you struggling with your weight why would you do it to your kids?

  • Some people got to understand that there's a difference between diet and lifestyle change. I'm on a lifestyle change were I had to change my eating habits to become healthy. I have a husband and kids to be honest I let my husband go to the store with me. When I cook I cook my meals separate from my family and yes my husband all man but i'm the woman an I control the food. I stopped cooking fried food and its been 4 months I haven't had a complaint yet.

  • I know that I am trying to change the way that I eat..but I do have to watch myself when I go shopping for the house. I always try to make sure that I have a alternative for me to eat when I snack. Thats just me.

  • i agree with what your saying if you start a diet / healthy life style change, you shouldnt still be smashing at burger king an mcdonalds cuz we all know just because u ate just 1 big mac dont make it healthy an thats not doing nothing different you gota have will power cuz truth is what you do to lose the weight is what you gota do to keep it off! so even if u lose weight eating junk u still contributing to high blood pressure and heart disease so in the end you wasted your time. love ya boo

  • I was a vegetarian for 5 yrs and I did not expect my family to become vegetarians with me. I can't control what other people eat or buy in my home but I can control what i buy. It is very tempting but food is an addiction just like any other addiction and just like alcohol and drugs you have temptation all around you for whatever reason. I dont think what we see should be the end all be all because at the end of the day we all have to look in our own mirrors and face ourselves.

  • Your journey is just that your journey. Having temptation around and being able to resist is kind of what life is all about, this defines the person. I know people who work in fast food establishments who dont eat there, I know people who work in stores they dont shop at, i know people who work in banks but dont sample the merchandise. Passing judgement is the easy part, i applaude anyone who is honestly trying to do better cause its easier to stay fat and find fault!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have kids that have to take there lunch and the school is asking for the parents to put healthy foods in their lunch boxes. I do not have any will power for sweets. I'm a person who has to loose weight for my health and for the knees. I have to watch what I bring into the house. I try and not have the sweets in my site, even though I know they are in the house. That helps and it's a process. So I try and buy things that they like and that I don't eat.

  • I made a video on this the other day or last week. It would tempt me so I think moderation is important and if i love my famous I should moderate the house as well. You can check out my vid if you like.

  • I have lost a great amount of weight and it was hard but what i do is what my brother does. I eat whatever i want but i burn more calories than i ate I work out every night except weekends. I also keep myself busy with hobbies so i dont eat and snack all day :D it works and its a good way to eat what you wAnt and still lose weight .

  • @BabyTigga23 I agree with your video, however forcing a husband to eat healthier is like training a dog in a sense. I was never big on junk food, but i still cut it out of our groceries. the only things he gets thats not on my "diet" is milk, cereal and diet sodas. I hate soda so thats not a problem. I dont think i can have temptations, but I really have to ease him onto the change. If not he may be tempted to eat out at work which is more money. I just have to flavor it up :)

  • Great points. I have watched vids too, and just shake my head. I am like WTH? Can never comprehend some people on here, doing vids, just to do vids with no progress. Chile please. I am just like U, I love food, but chocolate is my # 1 sin. Girl, do Ur Zumba, especially if you have a WII. Go girl, luv ya.

  • I understand your point. It is very unwise to say that your dieting in any way and still shop as if your not dieting. I also feel that if you're on a journey of reversing your unhealthy eating habits, why not incourage your family to take care of their bodies also. Great vid!

  • I don't think your family has to diet because you are on a diet.. keyword you or I am on a diet. If they join you then that a good bonus. There's temptation everywhere when u go shopping, in the gas station,cookouts, parties,almost every holiday, if you can deal with it in your home then passing burger king with the 99cent whopper special shouldn't be a problem..

  • I feel like it is difficult for me to stay on the straight and narrow when there is temptation all around. but at the same time it is hard to tell a grown man what he can and can't have in his own house to eat, especially if he is anything like my man. but to each his own. some people have more will power than others. and I try not to judge what somebody else got going on in their home.

    You know being a human being is hard especially

    when you have to say no to a lot of good fattening foods.

    What works for me is , if I eat something that will not

    help me lose weight I know that I have to work it off at

    the gym. So I have to workout for 30 extra minutes

    and that sucks! I love my 45 minute work outs not

    my hour and 15 minute work outs. Also this means

    I have to run on that treadmill I hate running LOL!

  • I agree with u but also believe in each his own...I don't eat a lot of salt because of health reasons BUT u damn right imma have a chip once in a while...u can die tomorrow so diets don't work for long..if u heal the root of why u are eating so much u can make a better life long decision!!

  • I think.its sad u can't ask a question and have people respond without drama.. I agree in a sense that if ue trying to get healthy it is important 2 extend it to ur family...meaning... I eat differently and even though my sons do not have a weight problem I still use wheat pasta when I cook for them.. I limit sweets because u can develop bad habits in the future healthy or not.. I want 2 teach my boys they can eat what they want and be smart about it..also I don't believe in diets especially if

  • Girl, my hubby has a major sweet tooth and high metabolism to match and so does my daughter but my son and I don't. So this is what I decided in Dec. 2010, I started to take "the portions" I would have eaten and throw them in the trash can! LOL! It was SUCH a victory that, WHENEVER I'm tempted I do just that. And now I can watch them eat anything and not eat it, I eat sweets on the weekends but it's been almost a year now and I don't even eat it sometimes cuz I don't crave as much. Great video!

  • I don't think pork is healthy I don't eat it and they don't either. If they really craving they will go to the store themselves the key is not making your plan so rigorous. If you don't workout they are gonna be flabby 9 times out of 10. If you a big roly poly if you don't work out you will be a skinny roly poly

  • I feel if ur on a diet that doesn't me your spouse or kids have to be on 1,it's up to your husband/boyfriend to want to do that they grown as far as kids being on a diet kids are goin to be kids,you can instill some healthy foods in their means from time to time but they're kids it's ok for them to have a snack from time to time,bcuz 1 person in the household is on a diet doesn't mean they have to stop purchasing the things their family members like,it's all about self control

  • I have a family and I bring in things for me and them. I don't have such a rigorous plan that I can't have a lil something sweet. They get some treats but I don't buy them alot a junk. Giving your kids a whole lot of snacks does not equate love. My daughter LOVES granola bars thats her snacks she likes chips but I don't let her eat them all the time. I make sure my hubby eats healthy b/c I don't want to be a early widow. I have a glass of wine and I'm still losing.

  • A life style change has to be your decision therefore the change will begin with you and may not include the members of your family, your family may not be over weight or have your health concern issues so I could not expect family to go on my journey with me but I do expect them to respect my travel down chosen path.

  • IMHO.. a lifestyle change is like any other addictions, sex drugs or alcohol you have to commit yourself to change, and remove things you can an those you can't you have to learn how to be around things that may tempt you, sometimes the temptations are greater than others, and sometimes you fall but you get up and get right back on.... after awhile it get easier to be around the temptations... and I think if the things like sweets are not things they like.it will not trigger the person to cheat

  • you go out into the world everyday and have tempations but you do have to be surrounded when you are home. My family puts their stuff up and they suppose me and eat what I eat on some days to show their support. On the other day they eat what they want and I'm ok. They help me know to mess up what I'm trying to do.

  • I feel like if you are on a lifestyle change then everything has to change. Yes when you have other people in your house that is not on a diet you can't expect them to give up all their stuff. BUT your household is suppose to support you and there is no way they would encourage you to bring that much stuff in your house knowing that you are trying to be better. I'm doing a lifestyle change also and when my family see me about to make a mistake they stop me. Home is where you are suppose to be ok

  • To each its own. If it works for her then it works for her. I am on a life style change as well and im down 30 lbs. And YES I EAT A CHIP AND COOKIE every now and again!.. So what? If it works for her.. why is it so upsetting to others? Im so confused here. If she is deceiving anyone.. ITS HERSELF!

  • Another example would be if you decided to stop wearing makeup/hair for (whatever reason just an ex.) and someone in your house kept buying these things and bringing them around you. They didn't make the vow to change YOU did, so why should they suffer? There is no golden rule and not everyone has to conform to one persons choices :)

  • The weight loss journey that you may be on may not be appropriate for all members of your family. In my opinion it takes the utmost amount of will power to be able to be around foods not on your plan and not eat them. It's ignorant to think everyone in a household will want to eat the same thing.

  • i think you are so wrong,if you dont have the will power oh well, that's you. i eat healthy and yes my husband eat ice cream, chips, whatever he wants to. and yes i buy it and bring it in the house, because he's not dieting i am and no im not always tempted because i know what i want for me ...............a more healthy life, to look good and feel good about myself.

Although i do think i was one person u was refering to in this vid..i dont think that it was disprespectful an i do think it was done with class an grace. U gave ur opionin an i gave mine with the same class an grace. I think we all have different ways of doing things an what works for me an my home may not work for others..

  • Zumba is so fun I LOVEEEE IT. As for me, I have very little will power for junk food so for me its best just not to buy it. If I buy a pack of cookies I say to myself, Ok, just get 1 cookie, then it ends up being 4 to 5 cookies, hell nah, I just leave the cookies in the store to fight the urge to eat them.

  • i think the entire family should eat healthy. if you are trying to loose weight and even if your husband/kids are not...you should not be frying up pork chops and buy cookies by the truck load every other day. if you love your family, taking care of their health is apart of that love.

  • It is truly up to the individual. Mostly everything we do is out of habit and it is hard to break those habits until the human mind is made up and focused on what they really want. Everyone entiltled to their opinion and everyone does things different. At the end of the day what matters is the weight loss not how you got there. It's like taking a road trip to one destination. There a many highways and roads to get there but some take the shortcuts and some take the scenic route. We get there.

  • I lost 130 pounds. I have children and a husband. I bought them treats and foods they liked. I also bought me treats that fit into my diet. It is not about what is in the house. It is about what you as the dieter eats. There is temptations all around but you as a dieter needs a plan on what to do when you are tempted.

  • It is very possible to walk away. My husband used to be a cookie monster, but now he doesn't eat pork, drink soda or eat sweets. There is absolutely no cheating for him. He gave up ice cream and replaced it with soft serve or frozen yogurt. He gave up cookies and now eats granola bars. He does not eat the replacement foods everyday or in large quantities. I saw it's a one day at a time thing, but it's possible.

  • I personally feel that it truly depends on the individual and whether they are Strong or Weak when it comes to withstanding certain things. Also, I feel that folks weight loss plan can be whatever it is that works for them.

  • depend on the person, its like some people that's addicted to ofter things like smoking,drinking,etc some can just stop and be around it, but some can't! O as far as what YOU may see...UM what one can deal with someone else may cant,

To neosoul.....first of all i coupon an i didnt get 100 boxes of pizza rolls i got 30 an they was 10 cents a box. Next...i have a family that isnt on my diet...so what..just because i am restricted they have to be? I think people on youtube really need to ....i just will do a vid an fully say what clearly needs to be said

  • Honestly Tigga, speaking from a former 280lber. It was a mental thing for me. Back in the day I would I was say I'm doing a diet and cheat on the day 2. Last year I was like I can't live like this anymore and I banned things such as soda, pizza, junk, carbs & I mean I wouldn't eat. I ate veggies, fruits, whole grains and pleanty of water and if I go to a restaurant, I would eat meat and veggies.

    IT IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE, how can you lose weight, if nothing has changed in your exercise/diet?

  • I agree with you it is a lifestyle change. I use to weigh 360lbs and for me the only major change was my portions because over all our family were healthy eaters. I personally can handle being surrounded by sweets and "real food" I just eat in moderation. But I would agree that some people don't have that will power . Now when it comes to people on you tube and their weight loss journey I feel like its just that its "theirs" so I'm supportive and encouraging.

  • good video sis i dont have no will power, so therefore i dont eat it my husband respect my weight loss journey so he eat out but since i dont eat meat hardley i can cook for him but BABY, BRING IN A TACO CASSEROLE im gonna be the first one to eat it, so i tell him don't bring it around me,,, now if i have kids i don't want my kids eating to much junk just sometimes, because i don't want my kids to be overweight either i don't think you can have all the food you like around you and don't eat it !

  • I meant almost all processed food has some kind of soy in it, not natural grown food or meats.

  • It's funny because I have no real choice but to have self-control with food because I have hypo-thyroid disease and soy upsets it and I also have a mild soy allergy. Almost ALL food has some kind of soy or soy derivative in it. I can't really eat fast food nor processed food. I'm a fresh food eater and package reader, lol. I eat brazil nuts for the selenium to help my thyroid. I research what's good for my body and what's bad and it FORCES me to eat the healthy way.

  • i changed my eating habbits so i can get healthy but my gf still eats junk so ihave to have will power to not eat what she eats example when i cook i make baked chicken then i take 2 pots, one pot has my vggies and one pot has her macarioni lol it doesnt bother me cuz i know if i dont lose this weight im gona die young like today she went and got a bigmac an i got a market fresh turkey sandwitch from arbys so i think i have some will power atleast ive lost 11 pounds now :)

  • Oops!! Yeah so I saw this on YT and it's extremely dis-heartening to see people who claim to be on diets buying 100+boxes of pizza bites. Even if ur not eating it there is a mentality there that needs to be changed. It does not send an appropriate message to an impressionable audience.

  • I dont have good self control..Its hard to stay motivated to lose weight with all of the temptation and and its hard to cut down on food cus your body reacts and you feel like you are starving at first and that sux.. I am the type of person who loves pastas, breads and chocolate. What helps me is to have more of the healthier foods in the house and make them more accessable like cut up some fruits or veg and put them in containers in the front part of the fridge so you see it and want to eat it.

  • no i think that everyone should join in by helping you eliminate bad foods in the house. if family members would like to go out and eat that way i think that would be more helpful to the person on a weight loss journey but as a family they should support you and not bring it in the house because i can be very tempting

  • i have like no will power lol if i have the right ingredients in the house i will cook it lol i love my fettucine alfredo, boneless buffalo wings, and chicken parmesan but the calories are crazy in those
