Hi. It is the difference in HCT and Icon whether there is centre block (wood) in this bass.Because HCT has centre block (wood),HCT has the funtion of Ric 4001 at the same time. In another words,if you want to play the Beatles' song Paul doesn't use

Hofner, you don't need to bring a Ric or Jazz bass.

the righty guitars you see have the strings flipped to lefty. I am naturally left-handed so when i learned to play i did it left handed (not to mention macca is my idol! )

it's almost the same kind. it's a hofner, but it's the cheaper asian made one, not the german. it costs about $350, i think, on musicians friend. the german runs about $2,000. i'd go with the cheaper to start off with. it sounds great!
