I had a ganglion cyst on the top of my foot when I was 6. The doctor said the way they usually deal with them was to smash an encyclopedia on it. Both he and my Dad thought that was funny... but I was only 6. And then, in the operating theatre, he asked me if I wanted a needle or gas. I WAS 6!!!! Of course I went the gas.
