snakes can actually be very aggressive if provoked. I know this because I once had a ball python. one day it was escaping from its cage when I was waling toward and it struck at me, but missed. one reason was becuase it was shedding its skin and could not see. that is what provoked it's attack. they do make good pets if you have alot of time on your hands because in order to keep them tame you will want to hold them on a almost daily basis for anywhere between 5 min. to 2 hours. fun pet too. ;)
