Oh wow, an american 45 degree twin bike with enough ground clearance to actually go around a corner. Geez, if you managed to get the engine to run properly, put some decent brakes on it, and have it not weight half a ton, you might really have something.
Errr wait, didn't Erik Buell try that already? My bad....
Cool bike though, just wish you could buy a good one stock. The XR1200 is a HUGE improvement but don't seem to popular in the US.
There are some pretty dumb comments here. there's a reason Roland does this for a living and you don't.i can find no fault in this bike, he knew the one problem with the stock bike is its to heavy and should have a mono shock rear. problem solved. great custom bike no one seems to have his vision for custom bikes. there still making the same stuff they did years ago.his bike are for riding not just for show.
@mbsnyderc I agree, Roland does this for a living because he has vision, imagination and talent and so does the team that work for him, i too build bikes and have sold them all over Europe, theres alot more to building a bike than meets the eye, i always say i dont built bikes i build works of art in motion.
the 666 number plate thing, shouldn't have been there, it takes away a lot of the bike's beauty, i'm not talking about the number it self, but the FONT, this is a cafe racer, not a dirt bike.......
@chanutpunno did you build this bike? did invest even a penny into it? NO... YOU DIDN'T!!! so keep your complaints to yourself. you don't like it... DON'T LOOK AT IT!!!
Roland, you're building some f'ing sick and insanely twisted Sportster based bikes! I knew the Cafe Racer scene would be making a comeback and you are definitely on the forefront! Sportsters are everywhere here in Ohio and you really show what can be done with a well thought out Sportster build! As an ex-racer you realize that the Sportster is truly an american sportbike that deserves to be improved upon, the real "Sport"sters were the '78 Cafe Racer and XR1000! Keep up the truly awesome work!!!
Roland, do us all a favor and you will make a lot of money too. Please design an XR tank that sits lower on the frame even if you have to put a fuel tank under the seat like a V-rod (which would fill in that open area by the way) and FINALLY give this motorcycle the correct XR - 750 look. we all want. Thank you SO much for the single -shock conversion. Now whack off that heavy rear frame tubes and put an aluminum sub - frame . This bike could be 400 lbs. if someone would do it. Nice bike Roland.
@onemarktwoyou the importance of using such a number effects you more than how brilliant this build is? there must be something wrong with you................
I watched the video again just because you commented that I should have been amazed. I am a amazed they took an over hyped piece of shit like the xr1200 and spent so much time to make something close to what HD should have done in the first place. But then again I'm also tried of everyone trying to shock you like they did using 666. But I have to admit they are not Billy Lane the fuck up artist. What they did was a good build and was far better than what they started with.
Absolutely fabulous... as your creation and production! I've the AC venturi 5 contrast cut and the gas cap cafe racer chrome on my black 48, perfect! Thanks...
Yea, the music is nice. Its got some cool stuff, but what is with the body work? OR lack there of... What do ya call it a "Crotch Chopper". It looks like a rolling frame.
That my friend is one of the nicest modern twist on a Cafe racer i have seen for a long time,so so neat..Lovely finish, cool ideas, fresh mean like a athlete..Awesome..cant stop watching the clip.

i m owning an xr and i like pretty much what rsd is creating. but not this one.
my vision of the xr is different.
the wheels are amaizing, olhins parts the same.
but the front light i don't like. the modification of the vance and hines i don't like.
the single swing arm is a pure marvellous creation. but the tail of the bike is too short i don't like.
what ever this is the vision of rsd and they make it very professionnal.
tumbs up for the hard work

I think HD's are dumb, but that one would probably look good on a track.
