Out of the whole Blackadder mythos, The Cavalier Years is my absolute favourite. It's amazing in that it packs more wit, character, plot and sharp dialogue in FIFTEEN MINUTES then Curtis and Elton packed into all the other half-hour classics they wrote. And that's truly remarkable.

I don't think the Stephen/Matilda thing really counted. They represented factions in a scramble for power on the death of Henry 1 - a bit like rival street gangs. The mass of ordinary people did not get involved, in the sense of taking sides. Much the same can be said for the Wars of the Roses.

Volume!! That's one of my many issues with TV advertising for example: the difference in volume between the movie and the ads! One minute you crank up the volume because you can't understand a word of the dialogue, the next minute some ad starts and you can't hear your own thoughts anymore!
