Extremely interesting. Buddy has obviously matured and become more relaxed with interviews since his earlier recorded conversations. His accent is somewhat muted and he sounds like the entertainment veteran he had quickly become. The Jazz question is wonderful. I feel that Buddy would have explored all styles had he lived including folk, gospel and Jazz. he was a true fan of music and talented enough to try it all. Cheers
Both his singing and speaking voices melt my heart. Buddy has a way with words and is definitely one of a kind. His music will forever be apart of my life. <3
I'm glad some of these interviews with Buddy still exist. He seems relaxed and very pleasant to interview. In contrast there are very few live interviews of Elvis partly due to the fact that his manager, Colonel Tom Parker didn't allow it.
Im not religious but its my dream that somewhere Buddy Holly, George Harrison , John Lennon, Ray Charles , Bo Diddley ( your dream is Elvis not mine) are knocking them flat somewhere . The concert of every millenium, Pink Floyd, Led Zep bah! Even the Beatles wouldnt compare 2 that. I wonder wot group from the 50's and 60's could reunite with all the original members, don't say the Stones, Brian Jones is dead. Thats your homework people, put your blue suede thinking shoes on and be constructive
Anybody know what's the date of the interview?? I just discovered Buddy Holly and i think is great, glad to see fan of that guy, you're right is so cool!
@TheDJGrandPa Yes, you're quite right. Heartbeat/Well...Alright came out November 5 1958, so this interview was made late October-early November snce Buddy says the record is published in a few days.
He no doubt would have had a stellar career and taken rock n roll to nebular heights.
