OK people, wanna something new & exciting? Type "Nutshell cover" and click on the video where there is a beautiful girl with dark hair singing (monhove). And then read my comments unless they will remove it.So hurry!!!
I love this song, and especially this acoustic version. Bruce projects so much emotion. I get goose pimples on the back of my neck. When I first visited the empty Lot where the Twin Towers stood, the events of 911 became truly real for me, not just something on TV.... Angels carried everyone of those people to Heaven that day.
My favorite solo artist, hands down. I'm always timid with new albums, but this song blew me away from the instant I heard it. After a few listens I actually thought the entire album could be my favorite of his. I've seen him a couple of times, including this tour. So soon after 9/11--it was a mix of emotions that I've never had at a concert--morose, hesitantly triumphant. It was so cathartic.. Thank you, Bruce.
@ofthecosmos I don't thin Springsteen can make a bad album. I loved the Magic album and although Working on a Dream wasn't as good, it was still a great album, songs like the Queen of the Supermarket and Outlaw Pete were just plain awesomeness.
great version of a song that makes you feel what he is singing about and the meaning of the song. bruce is just amazing whether with his writing or performing.. he tells a story and like it is he is so real.
This is a clip from I believe the ABC Nightline show in 2002, just as Bruce was starting out his Rising Tour. Ted Kopell interviewed him over a 2-day period. I have a poor recording of this on VHS tape, so this stereo recording is great. Thanks!
Song writers like Bruce Springsteen are so rare. Hes such a great entertainer and a isnt afraid to right songs about what he truly thinks and believes.
This song... It has so much pain in it. If I remind myself of 9/11... Damn... How on Earth could that happen? What's wrong with humanity? When did it go wrong? I'm not American, just a human being, yet it shocks me even now. Why?
I'm also ashamed, as an American, that the policies adopted by the President of the United States could not have played more into the hands of those who planned the 9/11 attrocities if an agent working for Osama bin Laden had been the President.
1. Invading and occupying a country that had nothing to do with events of that day. bin Laden is a Saudi. 17 of 19 hijackers were Saudis. Jihad and that "western ways are..
evil,' are taught in Saudi schools. But on 9/12, Bush didn't ask "who did it?" He ordered, "bring me the conclusion that it was Iraq."
Of course, 6,000 dead American soldiers, 30,000 lost limbs, between 100,000 and 500,000 innocent dead Iraqis (we dont count iraqi deaths), at least 2 million homeless Iraqis, and a 1.5 trillion dollar price tag (that's with a 'T'), minimum, is bad enough, but even worse is 2. obtaning "evidence" through rendition, ending habeus corbus, and torture in Cuba..
@CPSJSMSUUMUGA Along with me I don't think people often get to see figure's and stat's like that, of all the planet's to live on, this one has to be the hardest to understand. Your short collection of word's are pretty moving one's my friend.
I thought this song was great.Bruce has allot of heart. You can really tell how much 9/11 affected him and every body else especially the people who lost loved ones on that horrible day.
ik vind dit zo mooi! Hij zingt het echt recht uit z'n hart. mijn ouders draaien het vaak en ik zing altijd mee!
