The sub-text in this video is not correct. I have this kit, and it is in no way natural feeling or durable. Within three weeks the kick pedal had broken, and the frame doesn't support the toms at all.
The pads and cymbals that come with the kit aren't too bad but the dm6 brain SUCKS! I switched to the DM5 after about 2 months of dicking around with that...plus their "cable snake" is a JOKE!
Does anybody can tell me the default MIDI Note of all DM6 Pad ??? cause I would like to use DM6 to trigger MIDI Notes with Native Instruments Kontakt. Thanks a lot.
ummm.... i actually want to start playing drums and was wondering if this would be ok for me to start with, i dont want to get and acoustic because my parents and my neighbors would probably complain about the noise, the reason i live with parents is because im 17. in case any1 was planning to say something like "move out of your parents house, you bum"
Jesus Christ, is it so difficult to hire a halfway competent drummer for demo purposes? The Salsa "drumming" is really hard to top. The price must be extraordinarily low to convince somebody to buy this drums. Based on this demo video I'd run away in a second. Oh, and the jazz snare?! I'm speechless.
I was wondering if it was possible to use the DM6 kit with external samples, as I have an extensive sample library on my computer. If it can, an explanation of how to set it up to do so would be appreciated. Thanks.
I'm buying this soon, and want to know if you can fit a double pedal onto the kick pad. Particularly the Tama Iron Cobra Jr.. or the original Tama Iron Coba. Thanks!
@PenGuyLV of couse you can, there is a tregger that you can put any kind of pedal you want, it's like the roland KD8, very nice trigger, good rebound, i hope i answered your question
@DRCRUE1313 Only if you buy an amp and pass your headphones through it. The level on the unit is far too low, and the kick has a "sensitivity" trigger. So when you hit dead center, you get the full effect of the kick. With doublekicks, they're both slightly off center, thus hitting them full blast produces the medium sound, not the full one. So you need to play softer and amp up the volume.
I have the money for this set, and i will buy it, so please tell me, Some thing for it. If i hit the cymballs in different places, like in the middle, will it sound differently ? And the hi hat too? Can i make this ound with the stick on the side of the drum ? Can I make my own set, choesing sounds from thoes 108's. Thanks in advance :)
@MishoRulezz I think that comes in along with being velocity sensitive. It's very doubtful you'll get the exact same difference when hitting different parts of the skins and cymbals to the reactions of a real kit but I'd imagine there'd be a noticeable difference on this :)
Okay, I've had the Alesis DM6 for about a year now, and for the past three months I've been starting to experience some problems with the drum set. The problems I've been experiencing I think has to do with the snare. When I hit the hi-hat, the crash, and the high tom with just a little bit of effort, then I can here a snare rim shot mixed in with the sound of the two cymbols and the tom. When I I hit it harder, then I can hear a full snare shot that completely overshadows the hi-hat. Help!!!
Please feel free to contact us for further questions (kundenservice@alesis.com).
What kind of USB problem do you have? Usually you need to wire only the drummodul to your pc. Then you have monitor your input for note on off messages.
just a quick question, because i wanted to buy this drum set, do the crash and ride cymbal pads come with the set, or would i hafta buy them separate? i know it comes with the hi hat and three toms, but im worried bout those other two cymbals XD
@KillerDrums777 It's all- around a shitty set. It's good for a learner but only for about a few months. I started around christmas, and it's messing up. Ever since I got it, the snare's rim function is too sensitive, and and will sound when you just wanna play the snare (or normally any part of the set, any vibration sets it off) and whenever I hit the hi hat, it sounds twice, and sometimes doesn't sound at all when I hit it. And the crash is falling apart on me. I don't recommend it.

Alesis kits are Okay for beginners, but you'll soon want to get a new kit. The response is bad, and all round quality is poor.
I recommend Yamaha or Roland kits, much bigger quality and value for money.

3 IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY ALESIS
1. THEY DO NOT OFFER SUPPORT. THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS OR HAVE TOLL FREE PHONE NUMBER
2. DO *NOT* BUY THE HEADPHONES, YOU'LL NEED AN AMP ANYWAY. GET AN AMP (NOT THEIR OVERPRICED ONE) AND ANY 20$ HEADPHONES WILL WORK.
3. THE KICK BARELY SUPPORTS DOUBLE PEDALS, AND YOU'LL NEED AN AMP TO HAVE A DECENT AUDIO LEVEL.
Not a single review ever mentioned that. I bought a DM6 and now I'm screwed with no support and dead parts. Way to go Alesis.

Dear Customer.
Thank you for your enquiry at Alesis Studiosound.
Only the Snare from the DM6 is a dual zone pad. All other pads and cymbals are single zone. The kit has following Pads included:
DMPad Kick Pad with stand, DMPedal single kick pedal, DMHat Pedal hi-hat pedal, DMPad 8" Dual-Zone Pad, DMPad 8" Single-Zone Pads, DMPad 12" Cymbals
You can have a look on the DM10 set for multizone solutions.
Please feel free to contact us.
