4) You are entitled to your view of the death penalty. However, has nothing to do with the guilt or innocence of Troy Davis yet one could contend it skews your position on the case and impeaches any "facts" you present.Which you fail to do.
5) The "recantations " were proven in a court of law to have NO merit .Mr. Davis was granted a hearing in which he had the opportunity to call the witnesses .He failed to do so.
@lovelymartyr Thanks for your opinion. Laws have improved and evolved because people have fought for these changes as they evolve. Some instead feel more comfortable with the way things are. Whether there court sentenced him correctly or not, killing someone ( legal concepts aside) will not bring the dead back and will just allow others to kill. My point is precisely that, killing is archaic and useless, especially in such a Christian country as the USA. So contradicting... thanks though! =)
1) He was convicted by a jury of his peers beyond a reasonable doubt.
2) He was innocent until proven guilty. He was proven guilty in a court of law. After the conviction the state is no longer resonsible for the "burden of proof"
3) race. The eyewitnesses were black as was the majority of the jury.
@user00975318642 I think that to be born black is a blessing, the problem is the social toxic approach of some very barbaric human beings. I spent each second praying, glued to the screen of my pc, and I was so gutted, I am still recovering from the horrendous pain this caused me. I live in Spain, I went to bed at 6am, exhausted, disturbed, and the next day I could barely move. I was torn apart. But my deep love for all races has just become stronger. I send you a huge hug of sympathy.
SO SAD!! I also hate how this has turned into a race issue.. he is black.. ok.. he could have very well been white.. whatever the case may b HE WAS KILLED FOR A CRIME THAT HE DIDNT COMMIT!!! (black ppl are like.. they killed him bc he black.. white ppl are like.. yall think he innocent bc he black..)NO EVIDENCE- period!!! what i want US ALL TO DO.. is to allow THE DEATH OF TROY DAVIS to b the foundation of a change in our judical system..we cant let him DIE IN VAIN!!
