  • how can i get this is united kingdom ?

  • im thinking about getting one myself but wich one is better mx15 all aluminum or the graphite version

  • @PaperAnimationGuy they are much the same, the alluminium one is slightly lighter but in real terms you wont notice much difference

  • @kirisilvermane thanks i just bought one right now and as they say everythings bigger in texas to well se if one of those rods can handle one of our texas fish good luck on the water.

  • @PaperAnimationGuy well it can handle an 18 lb mirror carp! and if you check out my friends channel Doublebaddotnet you will see that it also handles the common carp that you US folks get in your rivers! Get out there; catch something BIG, make a video of it and become one of the Pen Rod fishing buddies! you need any help just ask!

  • oh and btw can you make a vid on front drag vs rear drag ?

  • @PaperAnimationGuy hmmm not much difference really, just whether you reach round in front of the reel to alter drag or just reach for the back of the reel. other than that the technique for using drag is exactly the same. its personal preference which you use! for me its rear drag all the way! so much easier to use!

  • NICE VID MAN! i want a pen fishing rod but i want bigger fish what rod shoud i get?

  • @Tilito99 well both of the rods; The Goliath and the Extreme will handle bigger fish!My record and the proven world record so far is a 17.5lb carp!which i caught on the Extreme!

  • @kirisilvermane where did you get yours?

  • @Tilito99 penfishingrods the ONLY place to get the original and best version available!

  • well then i apologize

  • @smithacoya thats quite alright; if you dont ask you dont know! :)

  • at 9:18 whats wrong with his arm

  • @smithacoya "his" arm being in fact "my" arm..and there is nothing wrong with it; its psoriasis..which is a little like eczema

  • wenne die in deutschland kaufen willst: bei ebay zwischen 8 und 13€ ;D

  • @DbaldetToShuffle The ones off Ebay ARE NOT Pen rod Extremes or Goliaths! THEY ARE NOT these rods and they are not as strong or as capable! so go ahead buy one from there if you wish :P but dont moan to me when it doesnt work as godd and you dont get a full warranty with it like you would with a genuine Penfishingrods product!!

  • @DbaldetToShuffle removed your comment :P feel free to re-post it but please dont swear again! i advertise a product and alot of children read these comments so please refrain from the harsher language :) and i was chilled i was just typed in CAPS to get my point across! LOL!

  • were can i buy one of these and for about how much?

  • @emokiddXhotemorage go to the website on the video! they cost between $35 and $50 depending on the reel and rod you want. They will ship anyweher in the world!

  • @kirisilvermane k thanks for the help

  • @emokiddXhotemorage my pleasure; you have any issues at all then just let me know and ill help you get the product you want! Im in constant contact with the company and will help support your purchase if need be! cheers

  • these are novelty rods and nothing more. Good for taking on hol, teaching the kids, or doing a bit of opportunist fishing. If you were fishing close to a snag and hooked a double you would not have the power to control the fish. Using this rod for carp, pike, barbel, or even chub will lead to lost tackle and possibly damaged fish (trailing snapped rigs). If you're going to a commercial fishery, river or reservoir do yourself, and the fish a favor, and invest in an appropriate rod.

  • @brum992 your gith in the fact these will not replace a good "full size" rod....but by the same token they are not "just" novelty rods either!i have handled large fish near snags with no problem; and in fact my videos show it on numerous occasions. They are not "crank and yank" rods for sure, they are simply only as good as the fisherman!in escence im showing "what they are capable" of; not reccomending they replace regular tackle!i show what they do, so you dont have to worry!LOL!

  • @kirisilvermane if you wish, im showing you what can be done,so that if you buy yourself a PRE and take it fishing you know your using a rod that CAN handle something a bit bigger than a bit of "tiddler snatching"!Having said all that; ive honestly put hours of fishing in with these rods, and so far, ive not encountered anything worse than what you would encounter with a full size rod when it comes to fish damage, rigs snapping etc thanks for your comment!

  • @kirisilvermane my point is why put yourself at an immediate disadvantage? By buying a 'proper' rod for the same price, you can land fish much more quickly, without panicing if the rod has got the strength needed. Your videos show modest sized fish - nothing to write home about! If you are making the effort to go to a commercial fishery, make the effort to take a decent rod with you.

  • modest fish that you would not think a rod of this size would be capable of handling!the point is to show that these rods can be used to fish" normally" there is no limitation to only using them to catch roach etc and modest? you call a 17.5 lb carp on a rod that will telescope down to the size of a pen modest?ok for sure its not big by carp standards but modest?for the tackle used it certainly isnt!as i said, im here to show "what they can do!"im not saying they will replace a standard rod

  • @kirisilvermane I've not seen you landing this fish - i guess it took a long time to land? In open water, clear of snags/other anglers with no current, these rods are capable of landing modest-sized carp (<10lb). However, when your swim is surrounded by snags or other anglers, you are likely to find trouble. Personally I would buy a rod that allows me to cast to, strike into and play fish at all distances - not just under the rod tip! However, each to their own and I'm sure they are fun to use.

  • @brum992 take a look at this:Dkgj84uZokQ

thats the biggest fish we know of thats been landed on one of these rods.didnt have my decent video cam with me. its down to what your gonna use them for, i think.sure i wouldnt use one in a snag filled "death wish" swim; but by the same token i "know" what they can do so i woudlnt ever worry about fishing with one wherever i am!they are awesome fun to fish with!amazing rods!come down to norfolk and ill let you try one!

  • ok then, i will buy your product on one condition.

you give me proof you have caught "the 18lb world record" on one of those rods

i think your fibbing to be honest.

  • @ES4LIFE14 try watching my video called BIG CARP

the proof is right there for you to see! witnessed by more than a few people at the time plus 2 in the video! i have no reason to lie about it or make it up..several of my vids contain "double figure" carp taken on the rods and reel!

  • @kirisilvermane Hahaha! I love it! Nice comment there :P

  • those reels look completely shit, the drag is crap.

  • @ES4LIFE14 well we have to control the fish far more with drag and technique than just setting the drag so tight the fish cant take line at all! fishing with thees rods is far more about using technique and correct drag to bring the fish in rather than forcing it in with big rods and tight drag. These reels are brilliant pieces of tech for their size, with the MX15A having 3 ball bearings in it and being more than capable of handling pretty much everything you throw at it! and please dont swear

  • @garrettcollins9 let me make this simple: i advertise a product, for a company..im Pro Staff for that company! these videos are part of that company image...i dont want swearing on them or in the comments for them! my videos, my choice! thats all there is too it! is that OK with you?

  • @ifishing24 this lake is at Reepham, just outside Norwich in Norfolk, UK!

  • i was using the same combo, and had also hooked a fairly large carp, but i ran TONs of line out, nearly 2 the point where i had to hand fish the carp. how much & what kind of line did you use for that 18 pounder? cause im surprized it didnt run out all of your line!

  • @ledzep4434 i use an iltra thin 8lb mono line and the spool is fairly full with it...so thats what? 70 yards+ ish?? cant recall now because i dont have a reel sitting in front of me to check. you will always get fish that take and take, and fish that just sit there like a wet rag! thats fishing..my 18lb's fought hard for a minute or two then just sat there on the bottom like a brick..for every foot i reeled it in it just flicked its tail and took it back again! LOL

  • hey what kind of float are u using i want one because i have the same combo and i like the float

  • @baseball5052 that float is a drennan Green. i think you will struggle because, from what i know and my friends from the states, i think its kind of tough to get the same style of float/floats that we use over here in the UK. your best bet might be to have a word your local tackle shop

  • i ordered 1 of them but it hasent came yet and its pissing me off

  • you need to stop swearing; then you need to tell me where you ordered it from and when? then i might be able to help you out

  • @kirisilvermane he didnt swear?????

  • please will SOMEONE help me??

i bought a pen fishing rod with a bait caster reel, but it doensent cast! you have to pull line off the reeal and throw your tackle! on the website it says they cast, but mone wont! any help???

  • depends which baitcaster you bought.if its a small golden one then its fixed spool and has to be cast as you now do, pulling line out then casting. The Baitcaster Extreme is fully functional and has a "free spool" which allows standard casting like a full size baitcaster.

  • @kirisilvermane aahh thank you (: ive been trying to get a spinning reel like yours, but it says we cant for some reason :|

  • hey kirisilvermane

    is there episode 4???

  • nope sorry!

but trust me! with spring just around the corner there will be plenty more vids for your enjoyment this year! i guarantee it!

  • then i am hoping to see the new vids

  • Nice carp fishing!

  • ive had des taylor pocket rocket on test for about 4 months and my pals had the american one for some time and we both prefere the pocket rocket if thats ok !!!.and surely its better if you can walk into an ENGLISH TACKLE SHOP to inspect one and be able to buy one of these types of combos and use it the same day!!!!and by the way i dont like spam myself i much prefere HAM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are probably right. it certainly would be better to buy one UK side rather than ship from the states. Never said it wasnt. And all i asked is that you didnt spam my videos with what amounts for adverts for another product. Thats called manners. i havnt posted anything similar on the Des Taylor vids, i would expect the same level of respect from somebody to me.

im going to remove your other posts and leave this one. i see no reason for the rest.

  • dont think des will be to keen on hi 7iber being called a minnow ,now thers one guy you dont want to upset l.o.l

  • the minnow reference is pure friendly teasing! simple as that...a josh amongst fishermen.

surely you do that with each other?

  • no problem

  • i took a look at that site and the rods, and they look cheap. they most definitely do not have the high quality materials and construction of the pen rod. anyone who knows anything about pen rods would prefer them to those rods without a doubt. and yes it's extremely rude and pathetic for you to try to spam other products on other videos just to try to boost sales. don't bother responding cause i won't read it.

  • i predict the world record will go this year useing a des taylor pocket rocket pro in grandeslam uks 2010 competition,(watch des taylor vids on you tube for details) there awesome!!!!!

  • considering they are not avilable til end of Jan, and i doubt you have actually used one yet how can you justify that statement? this is the fourth comment like this you have posted on my vids! I dont mind friendly competition but this is just spam! please stop it!

  • Comment removed

  • where can i buy a good pen rod at?

    give me the exact site

    please

  • excellent review. i've always been paranoid about getting a retracting/extending rod. but it seems to be pretty strong and hold up pretty well.

  • i wont lie to you, its not a toy; but if you fish well, and proprely this rod can bring in 18lb+ fish!

  • awesome thanks! :) i think i'll order both the mx15 rear drag and bait caster combos next spring!

  • they are gr8 fun to use! you wont have as much fun landing a fish with anything! They really are an eye opener to use!

let me know if you need anything else and ill help any way i can!

  • awesome, thanks a lot! ii appreciate it! i do have one more question.. on their website, they have the baitcaster and the large baitcaster combo, which one did you purchase?

  • Pretty Mirror! and nice work.

  • thanks bro! glad you enjoyed it! wait til you see the koi and other carp in episodes 2 and 3

  • That's suh-wheet! Someone emailed me today & wanted to know who you were. I told him that your identity was TOP SECRET! LOL!!!
