  • @jettrink60 There are still 3 (I think maybe 2) Victory Ships left in the mothball fleet, I'm not sure what their names are. My father passed in 2003 and we spread his ashes there. He was in the Navy also. I watched one day from the Martinez Marina as one of the old Victories was towed away for scrap. It was kind of sad.

  • The Navy will probably end up using most of those as targets.

  • yeah but these ships once were used to battle the axis forces and played a huge role in protecting the free world from tyrane and opperesion to keep the world free and if not for these ships the world world would be different right now so just give a little respect to them i not telling anyone what to do or putting any one down i just suggest that everone take time to understand what these ships did in their past peoples family members crewed or were passangers on these ships

  • these are "supposed" to be leaving the bay soon, due to the deteriation of the paint and some what medium-large amounts of lead from the paint. if anything we will end up using these ships in a millitary exercise something like that, like blowing them up testing new bombs etc.

  • @MacThizzit You'll be shaving with them in about 2 years...

  • Eventualy all scrap Iron

  • There is no reason why Obama can't get these up and running so that cash-starved college kids can have lo-cost transportation to party destinations in Mexico. They could charge as little as 50 dollars to Mazatlan and jobs would be created.

  • Yeah I wouldnt want to take a cruise in a Liberty ship, not the most comfortable ships ever

  • cool video
