To say however that religion is evil is contradictory, since by stating that religion is false you must accept that evil doesn't exist since no greater reason exists to claim good and evil. Before 1930, Democrats were the party of small government, but FDR changed that (he had no choice, he had to deal with the Depression). Around 1950, Republicans realized that southern whites were disgruntled with the Democrats and saw an opportunity to win them over by opposing Civil Rights legislation. No one can claim to know history AND listen to a Grade-A liar like Hannity.

regarding Satan = Accuser. In the original Jewish mythology, Satan was not considered an evil figure, but rather the accusing angel, essentially the classic heavenly prosecutor whose job was to speak against someone trying to enter heaven after death. The only mention of Satan in the original texts is in Job ), and it was in this context (:meh, he's not rally so righteous") that he appears.
Not a popular figure, to be sure, but not the evil figure in the later Christian mythology.

My claim is that humans are born w/inherent rights including those recognized by the Constitution. It's in the Preamble for those willing to read it. Explicitly declared in the 2nd para of the Declaration of Independence. Surely you are familiar with -- We hold these truths to be self evident

I want people to be legally free to do anything to themselves that they want.
I don't want people to get high, drunk, stoned, or kill themselves, because I believe it is destructive behavior and causes problems.
It would be wonderful if everyone who smoked crack would do so in the privacy of their own homes, but that simply is not the case.
However I don't want to create laws that inhibit freedom. So I will just punish those harshly who impede on other peoples rights.....

The only reason I haven't longer is because because I never thought about it before.

There are two kinds of Libertarains, US Constitutional Libertarains and Socialist/Liberal Libertarians (like Noam Chomsky).
I believe that there can only be one kind of true Libertarain though, US Constitutional Libertarians.
