The problem is that the Hebrew language uses the same word for different things.....for example 40 days is also many days.....virgin is also young woman, etc
This bishop is ill-informed about bible history. ALL bibles ARE translated, the originals don't exist. The best version to read is the one you can best understand. ALL key tenants are in MOST modern versions, don't let anyone lead you different. This whole rediculous debate and contention is perpetuated to divide the church and has no eternal signifigence.
@JesusIsMyHelp So what is the point?... Modern versions are inferior compared to the KJV?... The KJV was not the first English bible, nor was it meant to be the last. Modern versions are written in the modern English vanacular WITHOUT changing meaning. Modern versions also are more accurate because they use older manuscripts than KJV for that matter. This whole contentious and ridiculous debate reminds me of the other one; "My denomination is better than yours because...." Petty.
The original KJV has: 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." This shows the Oneness of God. But, the NIV authors deleted that verse entirely. God made it clear that His word was not to be tampered with.
@JesusIsMyHelp Showing once again you haven't done your research. The verse you quote is actually missing from the many earlier manuscripts that pre-date those used for KJV. So you can't delete what is missing from the majority of earlier manuscripts. The manuscripts used in the KJV translation were only a handful of much later manuscripts, get your facts straight.
@rb300dx ...Show us your research then, please. Where are you getting all of your information? What are the earlier, authentic manuscripts, considered to be the unadulterated Word of God, you are referring to?
@JesusIsMyHelp OK...The majority of manuscripts pre-date the 10 or so of the Byzantine era; Circa 10th century text's that the KJV is derived from. Just get a copy of The History of The English Bible, then you'll understand it's origins instead of asking questions that are answered in the several books, other than the one mentioned, on Bible history that are out there. Only then can you understand the fallacy of KJVOnlyism.
@rb300dx ...I thought you were an expert, who could enlighten us with serious research. So it boils down to a matter of belief. I'll just continue to believe in the legitimacy of the KJV, and you (and anybody else) can believe in the other versions. Sounds like a plan to me.
@JesusIsMyHelp I am no scholar, but any novice who reads a book on Bible history and reasonable intellegence can't ignore facts. You are obviously devoted to your cultic thinking and no amount of evidence will suffice to you. I pray God removes the scales from your eyes, and prompts you to study, instead of following blind tradition. But for the record the thousands led to Christ and continually fed by modern versions are just as saved as any ardent follower of KJV. That sir, is all that matters
@JesusIsMyHelp ... All you did was just ask this person to document what they were saying, and they get upset and snippy. They came to this page, hurling insults at Bishop Leslie, then insult you when you ask a question. So typical. You definitely know the spirit behind it. Keep on PREACHING THE TRUTH, Bishop Leslie!!!
i recieved an expositors study bible by jimmy swaggart ministries as a gift for my eighteenth birthday from my parents and its a KJV and eversince then i cant stop reading it, the notes are in italic red ink making it easy to read and understand, i highly reccomend it to anybody who has a desire to understand Gods word more! it haves footnotes that help you understand the translation better and it is anointed! i love it :) it has put a desire in me for Gods word! YOU NEED THIS BIBLE! God bless!!
Yes preach on, and I am a Mormon! YOu are dead right! Thats one thing that this church and mormons have in common! We Believe soely in the King james version of the bible! The first edition! The only thing that we have done is add cross references at the bottom of the page! The text has remained the same, no change whatsoever! The verses are the same word for word!
Bishop Leslie has a new book by the same title "Everybody Can't Be Right!" I just finished reading it, and it is DYNAMITE!! Full of God's Word and explains in great detail why the false doctrines about salvation are FALSE!!
This is a dynamite message!! This discussion needs to be widely addressed, because it is very serious. Congratulations, Bishop Leslie for having the strength and backbone to stand up for what is right!!

Who translated the King James Bible?
Man did.
Man makes mistakes.
How are you certain that the translation is correct and true?

If there are no miracles, how could so many ignorant incompetent people find steady employment?

You cant trust the bible AT ALL,
it was a fireside book of myth to start with
and it has been degraded steadily ever since.
It is so vague, so internally inconsistent,
so filled with scientific and historical error
and so many contradictions
that it is totally worthless for any sort
of instruction or moral guidance.
So the "version" you use is hardly significant.

not necessarily... there is a big difference between translating something word for word and quoting what one THINKS was meant.
