The YouTube channel aroodawakening has a link to their web site and there is a video that shows the under water video evidence of Pharaoh's chariots being on the bottom of the sea that the Israelites crossed. This video you are watching came before this discovery.
I don't get it. Why would anybody pay ANY ATTENTION WHATSOEVER to the bible? When people say they believe what's in the bible, something has really gone wrong.
To paraphrase some comments below: "Obviously, non-Christian archaeologists have an agenda to destroy the Christian faith. Besides, lots of faithful Christian archaeologists are willing to confirm every jot and tittle of the Bible." Somehow the thought that archaeologists would have an agenda seems counter to the very character of archaeology and science in general... which is why sticking Christian in front of your field is a good way of being accused of not being a real scientist.
One should note that the program still relies on the old Egyptian dating which is based on Manetho's kings list.
Using other lists and historical data, the timeline of successive kings turns into co-regencies with successors. This solves the issues of the Exodus, Jericho, the conquest of Canaan, etc.
That is, unless you believe a Hittite king was battling an Egyptian army lead by a man not born for 200 years.
@groundhog0339 -Revisionist chronology creates far more problems than it solves. Conventional historical chronology is strongly supported by stratigraphy and the Assyrian records.
NOVA is pure propaganda. There are vast amounts of lectures on YT from life-long researchers proving the biblical history. They've found Sodom & Gomorah, the Red Sea Crossing, as NOVA pointed out the existance of King David, 25,000 seperate artifacts related to biblical characters, the list goes on. Please don't take NOVAS lies as truth. I got links if u like.
Received his "Doctorate" from Patriot Bible College, a non-accredited diploma mill. Hovind's thesis on "Christian Education" was not peer reviewed and contains numerous grammatical and common spelling mistakes. Since 2007 he has been serving a 10 year prison term for tax fraud. As you can see, he has no education in these fields, only in taking money from gullible people. The rest are just as phony.
@BlindMonkeyProd Have you read minimalist archaeologists Israel Finkelstein & Neil Silberman, 'The Bible unearthed' They think the Exodus never happened. Gary Greenberg who wrote ' Moses mystery' & '101 myths of the Bible ' thinks the Bible stories may have a grain of reality but much distorted. Maybe the Exodus stems from the Hyksos tales. See also top sceptical Bible scholars John W. Loftus, Robert M Price, Dan Barker, Valerie Tarico, Victor J Stenger, Ken Humphreys, Richard Carrier
@BlindMonkeyProd If this has anything to do with Ron Wyatt, all of these claims are obviously false. His "Gommorah" is an aragonite formation formed by Lake Lisan sediments. The Red Sea Crossing claim is contradicted by the Bible (see the references to Shur in Samuel). If NOVA told any lies here, they are in favor of biblical historicity, not against it.
So the point of the program is that the books have biases and errors. For example, on a psychological point of view, John 3:16 said that Jesus was only God's begotten son? what does that mean? is He the only son of the Creator? then we are not of his creation? or is John the Baptist spur of heresy instigate an old flame?
Also John 3:16 translations in English to Vietnamese have a large distinction.
Who is this Him preferred to? according to the Vietnamese translation, it is the Son.
Many historical records and confirmation of such have been destroyed, or distorted ex. Ancient and modern sources identify four possible occasions for the partial or complete destruction of the Library of Alexandria: Julius Caesar's fire in the Alexandrian War, in 48 BC; the attack of Aurelian in the 3rd century AD; the decree of Coptic Pope Theophilus in AD 391; and the Muslim conquest in 642 AD or thereafter. Another attempt to nullify the bible, it's content, our Savior.
Hi, You might want to check out the lecture "Egyptian Chronology and the Old Testament" before swallowing what Nova and it's archaeologists say concerning the approximate dates of many happenings in the ancient Biblical accounts. Thanks
No offense, but in this "Information Age", if you were serious in your questioning it's not hard to find out whose lecture that is... Professor & historian Mark Woolmer of the Edinburgh Creation Group, an active forum where scientifically minded people meet to discuss evidence supporting the biblical account of creation. And in my opinion these folks deserve as much, if not more, attention than the left leaning PBS/Nova people and their Biblical minimalist propaganda. Thank you.
I think you are only giving half the story here. For example, the Bible talks about Canaanites in the promised land long after the conquest by Joshua, as I recall, so that is actually confirmed-not contradicted-by archaeology.
@ProfMTH I just finished it. I guess my impression of it is that there are three different things maintained by the program. First, some parts of the OT have been neither confirmed nor disconfirmed by archaeology. Second, some parts have been confirmed. Third, some parts have been partially confirmed (i.e. archaeology tells us that something like what the Bibles said happened but the biblical account is not 100% accurate). Doesn't this undermine your skepticism?
@evangelical1 Many historical records and confirmation of such have been destroyed, or distorted ex.
@TheNewday2 I'd only heard 2 of those. I had a suspicion the Theophilus one was propaganda invented by anti-Christian revisionists like they did with the Columbus and the flat earth myth. But yeah, its really hard to reconstruct the past. Critics of the Bible that have no training in history should be a little more humble I think. That doesn't apply to the people in the NOVA special so much as laymen who use it as ammunition against Christianity.
@evangelical1 The ammunition against Christianity.....why would anyone try to destroy Christianity if it didn't exist in the first place? Not only is it difficult to reconstruct the past because of loss of Alexandria, but papyrus and clay tablets used during this time to write and communicate also not stand the test of time. Documentation not lost includes every jot and tittle with evidence of believers and nonbelievers who confirmed Jesus Christ's existence.
Re. Jericho - C14 dating for the 2nd Millennium BC in the Eastern Mediterranean is skewed by the effects of the Mytilini eruption, and ages have a potential error of 250 years. Hard archaeological evidence (Egyptian scarabs dating down to the reign of Amenhotep III) indicate Jerricho was destroyed c. 1390 BC, which corresponds fairly closely with the year given in 1Kings 6:1. No other passage in the Bible gives any clear indication as to when it occurred.
FYI, the Bible itself indicates that the conquest of Canaan took centuries. The book of Joshua belongs to a genre of ancient "Conquest Literature", a genre characterized by bold sweeping panegyric ("We conquered *everything* - we killed *them all*) that was just patriotic exageration. Yet it's entirely clear in Judges, 1&2 Samuel, and 1&2 Kings that the conquest was still in progress and incomplete.
I heard the claim of evidance of king david is based on a tiny piece of stone that had the name house of David written on it and it was around the area and time period that king david might of exsisted.Problem is,anyone could of been named david.House of david could even be a referal to a pagan god.Its like making a movie claiming to find Jesus's tomb or finding nails that Jesus was crucified with.(Lots of people were named Jesus and nails are common finds in tombs.)
@rabitrabitt Also king solomons kingdom is based upon very questionable interpitation. The remenant building structures can belong to anyone. Its no differant then any pagan temple.
12. I am a born again Christian and I believed before I knew anything about these findings. Im not trying to convert you or argue. Just saying because NOVA makes a doc on the Bible which clearly does not express both sides to the story, doesent mean there is no evidence. You can assign whatever meaning or explanation that you want to what I have written, but they are confirmed finds that match up directly to the Bible and cannot be ignored just because someone chooses to pervert the facts
Lol, the only problem is that the majority of the things mentioned in this video are not accurate at all. Not saying thats not what NOVA brodcasted, but there is arch. findings that confirm exodus, the walls of Jericho was rebuilt and the "pre date" theory has always been refuted due to the overwhelming arch findings at the site..I could go on and on
1. Ok, here goes a bunch of posting. Deut 27:4 Jushuas Alter on Mt. Ebal
Dr. Adam Zertal, an atheist found an alter on Mt.Ebal. Found no alter on top so it was concluded that it never existed. Found in the center was full of ashes, the ashes of 942 bones belonging to sheep, goats, cattle, all kosher animals.
2. Also, of the bones that the age could be determined and sex, the ages and sex were of one year old males...as it is written. Pottery was found dating to the 13 century BC. Egyptian scarabs were found on site of the era of ramses the second
Kathleen Kenyon, the second archologist there said that it was a city belonging to a much earlier time and could not be the biblical jericho BASED on the absence of Cypriote pottery not found at the site.
@ProfMTH 5. Brian wood in the late 90s found the pottery. He also found an unbroken time line of Egyptian scarabs with dated inscriptions dating from the 18 century (before the exodus ) to the 14 century (where the exodus stops at the time of the conquest ). torage containers full of grain which would have not been left by invaders,
6. but the bible says it was commanded to be left alone. Also according to the bible it was at the time of the harvest, which would be why there was grain in large quantaties. Found, one portion of the wall remaining and a house being on top, just as the bible said (Joshua 2:15). Fallen brick which was found that would have left a ramp up to the city, as the Bible says.
Tell Deir Alla, near jodan excevations found an adminstration center of the amorites. Plaster on the wall that had fallen off had written stories written in black and red ink. There was a number of stories, but they found the story of Balim the Prophet. "Warnings given by Balaam, the son of Beor, a seer of the Gods" (Numbers 22:2) Now on display at armon jordan musuem
10. In it is dated to the fall of the first temple period by the babalonians At the bottom of this was a room called the archive room. it was clay seals stamped by officials. 51 of these stamps called bullaes date to the time of the first temple.
11. 51 were found, out of the 51, 26 bulas names were mentioned in the bible, one stamped Azariah son of Hilkiah (1 chron 9:11) another says Gemariah son of Shaphan (Jer 36:10) two says Baruch so of Neriah (Jer 36:10) . Another says Jerahmeel son of the king (Jer 36:26)
So, not that I need it, but archeology does confirm the Bible...though the spirit of God can do it even better than that
I feel as if you are trying to get people away from god, not torwards in this video; as said in Galatians - for this is what "false prophets" would do.
The subject of Yahweh is a fascinating & enlightening 1.
When I was looking 4 info on Yahweh's origin, I came across the Ugaritic Texts & to me it's like an Enigma Machine 4 the bible & the roots of Judaism. Well, that's what I'm calling the paper I'm writing on it.
So far, it seems that the earliest Hebrews were Canaanites. They decided to split & adopted the Canaanite Pantheon! The U. Texts illustrates their transition from Polytheism to Mono, & all the gods were in it.
Based upon the illiterate nature of his comments, I'm willing to bet spynu85 has never read the Bible, other than a few cherry picked passages which reinforce his unfounded belief. Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he traded a sack of Philistine foreskins for his wife like David supposedly did.... or stoned his kids to death when they were unruly... or thinks a decent human being like Gandhi deserves to burn in hell for not believing in Jesus. I feel sorry for ignorant, small minded sheep like spynu85.
fuck your vide asoo..You don.t belive in nothnig idiot...you are close to going in hell,it is all write my brother..in The Holly Bible The Book of Life!!!Viva Israel!!!Amin.

@spynu85 So god didnt create everyone equal then? there falls one part of the holy scripture.
You are worshiping something that is completley without proof, you might aswell worship Vishnu or Thor.
And ask yourself this, are you trying to be a better person to please god? or trying to be a better person for the sake of being a better person? and dont lie, we both know what your god thinks of lies.
@spynu85 That makes absolutley no sense at all, but im going to go ahead and guess that you try to bee a good person to please your god and not for the sake of beeing good, looks like you arent exactly moral, just afraid.
@Sweddude i want to be a goo person because is goo to be a good peron, not kills, not injured, help others...a imoral person don.t do this things!!!Jessus Christ our Savior teach us in The Hoply Bible who is good for men to be,but the choice is of men,and then it will be Judge for his actions!!!Viva Israel Teh Gods chosen people!!!The Day of Judgment is close!!!Amin.
Have you helped those who are injured? have you helped curing the ill? have you helped the poor by collecting money in order to buy them food? Have you taken care of helpless animals? Have you stood up for the weak?
Do you work day and night to improve yourself in order to help the world around you?
I have done all of those, and so have countless millions of people who does not belive in Jesus. You havent

@spynu85 Havin faith is not the same as doing good things, if you cant understand that then youre just another idiot and someone who pushes society into the dirt.
And if you think you will live forever at gods side then go and kill yourself already.
@Sweddude i don.t want to kill my self because i don.t want to go in hell!!!read The Holy Bible my friend, tomorow can be to late, belive in Jessus Christ our Savior who died for us,tomorow can be to late!!!Viva Israel!!!Amin.
@spynu85 I have read the bible, you clearly have not.
The god of the bible is an immoral little dick that controlls people with fear and threats, and its so full of self contradictions and historical errors that anyone with something behind their forehead can see it as complete rubish.
But im afraid that so will you, according to your bible it is a sin to try and pass Gods judgement on someone.
If a god wants to punish me after all that i have done and what im planing to do for this world then it is truly not worthy of any admiration.
It is your kind that ruins this world, you apathic lunatics that sit there and think that as long as you have faith then everything witll be good for you, apathy is what causes suffering.
@Sweddude its your deciion i want to say to be or not to be in Heavean!!1read The Holy Bible The book of Life The WORD of ALMIGHTY GOd our Father, tomorow can be to late!!!Viva Israel!!!AMin.

@spynu85 And now you also accuse me of being hateful even tough you are the one saying that me and millions of others will be tortured forever and deserve it?
You truly are a nutjob and i can only hope that the day when you start hearing the voices telling you to blow yourself up that you dont manage to take anyone with you.
We only have one life and its far to precius to waste on believing that you may or may not recive eternal torture.
@Sweddude and i will live with my our Father there in Heaven if i have faith in Him and in His Son Jessus Christ who died for us!!!Viva ISrael!!!Amin.
@spynu85 "fuck your vide asoo..You don.t belive in nothnig idiot...you are close to going in hell,it is all write my brother..in The Holly Bible The Book of Life!!!Viva Israel!!!Amin"

This Nova documentary is also clearly biased. If you watch "The Bible's Buried Secrets (BBS)", the narrator introduces two archeologists who are heading the excavation - Amnon Ben-Tor and Sharron Zukerman.(BBS 3-11, 9:13) Amnon Ben-Tor (lead archeologist ); Sharon Zukerman (co-director) The narrator asks, "Who destroyed Hazor?" (BBS 4-11, 3:30)
Zukerman (co-director) is given more interview time to present the anti-Israeli historical argument versus Ben-Tor's brief mention, though he is lead.
@TheMoree007 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
So God is sending us these delusion so will believe the lie,... hmmm,... why is God help reinforce the lie? Why is God trying to deceive us? Have you ever considered that it is you whom God is send strong delusions?
ProfMTH: Question, do you account for the omission of 400 years from the Jewish calender which, by Jews, is intentional in order to collectively forget their 400 year sojourn/captivity in Egypt?
@revhain Oh, you're actually using the term correctly. I thought you were trying to refer to circumstantial evidence or something about substantial evidence. Thanks for clearing that up.
lol. aww, men's feeble attempt to discredit the GOD of Heaven and Earth. No matter what, He is still GOD. from Genesis to Revelations. and right now, did you know, that EVERYTHING prophetic scriptures in the bible are being fulfilled? at an alarming rate, and we ought to sit and consider THAT.
@ProfMTH UHHH.... yeah i do. We are the epidome of irrelevance in the sight of a great an majestic GOD. your video is IRRELEVANT, not just to HIM, but to me too. but one thing I can say, GRACE is relevant, and can only be found in JESUS, and if you dont have JESUS, i suggest you get HIM before its too late. because only HE is relevant in etrnity. ok sir. Jesus LOVES you, turn to HIM and be saved. and thats ABSOLUTE truth. and its very relevant.
Did you know God speaks of NOW, Russia, Iran, Turkey aliance, One World Gov. WW Economic Crisis, current Peace process, Nuclear War and far more? God pinned 1948 over 2,000 years ago in Ezekiel, and says, the generation that see's Israel become a nation again in one day, is the Last One before Tribulation. When they shall say Peace and Safety, Sudden destruction will come upon them. Read Revelations, you are there now.
you can look on google earth, and see where moses crossed the red sea. and on each side, you can zoom in, and there are pillars , made of red granite, called the pillars of moses, they have been there from ancient times. and the mount sinai is there in arabia as well, and there is a tomb of miriams mother and father. not that the arabs will let you see. its called Jebel al lawz. the lawz is no coincidence. also look up Noahs ark discovery 2010
@ProfMTH And thats funny, because some how you know different? Go look it up yourself, the pillars are there, jebel al lawz is an ancient mountain, in the sinai mountain range. You act as if fact isnt important to your opinion. And if PBS is your source of fact, maybe you should do more research. because everything ive studied for 15 years is common knowledge. At the least bring something more than a trendy text phrase and sarcasm.Last I checked PBS isnt known for supporting biblical relevance.
@ProfMTH well, where are your facts? I guess you cant share, because they must be opinion. the pillars of moses are there. fact. the mountain jebel al lawz has had that name forever, and it means mountain of the law.Fact. there are twelve wells, twelve pillars there, and a rock split down the middle, due to water spring erosion.Fact. No one has ever been recorded as living there in history, except the israelites. so you better have some good facts that change that, if you want to prove anything.
@gininginin Well, when i looked i did not write it down. however, if you look at the you tube vid, "RED SEA CROSSING" they show you the location, the ancient routes, the land bridge under the path of body of water, along with the pillars, and their removed inscriptions. Which i was able to zoom in on and trace, from the bibles descriptions and names. I think its just silly to develop a basis of credibility, based on proof.yet we have evidence, that backs written words exactly, & its not enough?
@2skullscrushing "...archaeologists who have worked here have never turned up evidence to support the account in the Bible, and there is only one archaeological find that even suggests the Jews were ever in Egypt." (From "Did the Red Sea Part? No Evidence, Archaeologists Say", New York Times, 4/3/07). nytimes (.) com (/) 2007 (/) 04 (/) 03 (/) world (/) africa (/) 03exodus (.) html
@ProfMTH Well, theres no archaeological evidence, that you walked to school when you were a kid either, is there? your asking the wrong question. you should ask, how come the bible concerning the exodus, knows the correct names of all the places, & trails? Succoth, etham.pi hahiroth, migdol, baal zephon? these names ALL either translate to the same meaning, or are the same in the current inhabitants tongue.NOT KNOWN TIL THIS CENTURY. ALSO RECORDED IN EGYPTIAN RECORDS.
@ProfMTH No, what it shows is that you dont even understand that your question makes no sense. your basically asking geology to prove the universe, or astronomy to prove mating rituals. archaeology is not going to prove a journey taken in antiquity.your ignorant to understanding just how things are proven. & your retarded statement that I actually care how many ignorant people take me seriously, really matters. i could care less. you overlook a whole mountain of evidence,& this is logical how?
@2skullscrushing "your [sic] basically asking geology to prove the universe"
That has nothing to do with what's been discussed here.
"or astronomy to prove mating rituals"
See above.
"archaeology is not going to prove a journey taken in antiquity"
In an earlier comment you claimed that it did, pointing to various alleged archaeological artifacts that, you said, demonstrate the Hebrews' exodus from Egypt. Now you're saying the opposite. Do you think before you write this stuff?
@ProfMTH no, first i pointed out JEBEL EL LAWZ, 3x you skipped right over it. so i backed up, and just explained that you dont look for stuff in archaeological evidence that most likely isnt going to leave bones, or artifacts behind. but as i said before, jebel al lawz. why dont you actually look at it, and try to debunk how there isnt any proof there, instead of quoting agenda driven newspaper ilk, like yourself, that even when presented with fact, you look away. those with eyes see.....huh?
Yes. First you said: "you want archaeological proof, go to JEBEL AL LAWZ (mountain of the law)...." Then several comments later you said, "archaeology is not going to prove a journey taken in antiquity." So first you purported to offer archaeological proof, but then you said that there could not be such proof. Again, do you think about ANY of this before you write and post it?
@ProfMTH ok, let me clarify to the stupid professor once more. The exodus is a walk. no archeology can prove people walked out of egypt. However, the biblical story of this walk can be proven with archaeology, by visiting the places named in the scripture telling of the walk. here are the names; succoth,Etham,Migdol, baal Zephon. all locations known today, not known 2 hundred years ago,yet known by scripture. the rock at hebron, still there, jebel al lawz, still there. archaeology proof STILL THERE
@2skullscrushing "The exodus is a walk. no archeology can prove people walked out of egypt. However, the biblical story of this walk can be proven with archaeology"
So archaeology can prove it *and* archaeology can't prove it. OK, you've wasted WAY more than enough of my time with this contradictory drivel and the rest of the nonsense you have scralled here and on the other video. Your stupidity is beginning to give me a headache. Have a good life.
@ProfMTH & again, you want archaeological proof, go to JEBEL AL LAWZ (mountain of the law) There are 12 pillars there, 12 wells there, a sacrificial burn pit with only goats and lamb bones. (only israel did this) there is also an alter with a taurus drawn on it. But HEY, no one has ever, or ever will be able to support themselves in this desert death trap. theres also a huge split rock, at horeb, as written, with evidence of a spring spewing from it, not a flash flood.the mount top is burnt too
@2skullscrushing Again, "...archaeologists who have worked here have never turned up evidence to support the account in the Bible, and there is only one archaeological find that even suggests the Jews were ever in Egypt." (From "Did the Red Sea Part? No Evidence, Archaeologists Say", New York Times, 4/3/07). nytimes (.) com (/) 2007 (/) 04 (/) 03 (/) world (/) africa (/) 03exodus (.) html
Ahh it's from Ron Wyatt, even AnswersInGenesis calls him a fraud. The fact is that there are no real facts collected. He claims a photo of an old wooden part represents evidence for Noah's ark (yeah right) and in the video where he dives in the Read Sea there are supposedly wheels from chariots. If you ignore the begging-the-question-commentary and the 'inspired' sketches you will see that the only wheel is the one that was obviously just planted 1/2 inch below the terrain.
The only man that ever 'found' wheels under the red sea was Ron Wyatts. The only other piece of evidence is a pillar with writings that unfortunately have been "later removed" (but somehow we should believe it anyway). The rest of the video is just re-telling the bible tale enthusiastically. I'm sorry, I can't buy that, it screams fraud. Even the creationist AiG calls it a fraud.
@gininginin Like I said, no one is talking Ron Wyatt. take a look at jebel el lawz. No one has ever been able to live there in forever, yet, its called the mountain of the law since antiquity, & its called that in arabic too, its in arabia. The mountain top, burnt, only one in the world.12 pillars,12 wells, a cracked rock at horeb, a carved bull on an alter, lambs and goats burnt ash remains in a ritual sacrifice pit. ONLY PRACTICED BY ISRAEL. how much proof would be needed in an unihabited land?
Its evident according to Genesis and parts of Exodus that (Yah)(w) had roots prior to the *Israelites. We see this when Leah names her son *Judah;. Leah nor Rachel were *Israelites. They were Syrian and Semitic. Leah had to know of the name (Yah)(w) considering the meaning of Judah. So basically (Yah)(w) is a Semitic deity of Syrian lineage. Which can be traced directly to Shem.
The Cannanites took 1,000 years to decline? Whatever those guys are smoking... I want some.............. and who would make up that they genocided a people and only a single general and a single prophet were "pretty sure" they were supposed to???
Right Moses flee from the Pharaoh in Canaan, too bad this region was also under the control of the Pharaoh he was fleeing from. The Bible is the truth it said so in it why bother doing research and make science progress the Bible is all we need. Damn brainwashing.....
Israel's temple blueprint being related to the Phoenician temple structures is nothing more then proof of the Bible's story in 1 Chronicles 14:1 and 1 Kings 5:3. Hiram is the one who helped Solomon with the temple of (Yah)(w). Hiram was a Phoenician.
I love it when people that sit at home and listen to right winger radio or people like Glenn Beck, say that the facts that are being presented are totally wrong. People who do absolutly no research at all, try to tell me that I am being decieved by a lie. OPEN YOUR EYES the bible was written by a bunch of men. Every person that takes the bible as complete has little common sense, and too much blind faith.
It is not true that there is no evidence of the mass migration. Egyptian chariots have been found at the bottom of the sea where the crossing of the Moses happened. You can check out the video here: youtube.com/watch?v=fpAnT6sbA60
Reading some of the comments for this vid in defense of the bible make me gag. Both in laughter and disgust. "eye witness accounts" or "Jesus DID raise" and on and on. Pleeease.
WOW! you really need to do more research. You need to ask the question what does the Smithsonian use to find historical locations and times. they use the BIBLE.
It has never been wrong ever for dating Kings events places and people groups.Get your facts straight before you post stuff like this.
Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
@XmarkedSpot the bible is the most peer reviewed collection of 66 hand written documents the world has ever seen, it has eye witness accounts of the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ , also it documents the early church , showing others doing the same works Jesus did raising the dead healing the sick proving the victory of the cross ,it is the real world and totally valid for today, one is wise to take its message to live by
@XmarkedSpot all the misery on earth is caused by mankind himself , take 30,00 children died today from simple illness , and we have spent 450million just on middle east war today , not to mention trillions to banker bailouts at a drop of a hat , 30 million convenience abortions since legalization that is the worst kind of murder Mum murders her own child. what is wrong with mankind ? and don't you dare blame GOD
Hey bro slow down, i mean YOU are the one who blames a god for existence itself and stuff like a virgin giving birth... i didn't.
I believe everyone is responsible for himself and for those who cannot yet or not anymore look for themselves, too. Do you agree, at least as far as concerning man's (not a god's) responsibility for the war in the middle east?
I have a question, regarding the motto "one nation under god". Do you think it is appropriate?

@malitheOO Naw, King Josiah lived a couple hundred years after David, but there are earlier historical figures than even David mentioned in the Bible that archaeology has confirmed, like Balaam, Joseph (maybe not confirmed but there is evidence), possibly Hammurabi (Amraphel in Genesis), Jabin king of Hazor, Achish of the Philistines (around David's time). I'm sure we can expect much more in coming days...
The YouTube channel aroodawakening has a link to their web site and there is a video that shows the under water video evidence of Pharaoh's chariots being on the bottom of the sea that the Israelites crossed. This video you are watching came before this discovery.

@BlindMonkeyProd Kent Hovind

@BlindMonkeyProd cool go with NOVA.
BlindMonkeyProd 5 months ago
@BlindMonkeyProd Have you read minimalist archaeologists Israel Finkelstein & Neil Silberman, 'The Bible unearthed' They think the Exodus never happened. Gary Greenberg who wrote ' Moses mystery' & '101 myths of the Bible ' thinks the Bible stories may have a grain of reality but much distorted. Maybe the Exodus stems from the Hyksos tales. See also top sceptical Bible scholars John W. Loftus, Robert M Price, Dan Barker, Valerie Tarico, Victor J Stenger, Ken Humphreys, Richard Carrier
zytigon 5 months ago
@BlindMonkeyProd If this has anything to do with Ron Wyatt, all of these claims are obviously false. His "Gommorah" is an aragonite formation formed by Lake Lisan sediments. The Red Sea Crossing claim is contradicted by the Bible (see the references to Shur in Samuel). If NOVA told any lies here, they are in favor of biblical historicity, not against it.
againstjebelallawz 1 week ago

@BackInTheGarden Whose lecture is that and why should I give it more weight? Thanks.
ProfMTH 6 months ago
@ProfMTH
Thank you.
BackInTheGarden 3 months ago
I think you are only giving half the story here. For example, the Bible talks about Canaanites in the promised land long after the conquest by Joshua, as I recall, so that is actually confirmed-not contradicted-by archaeology.
evangelical1 6 months ago
@evangelical1 You might want to watch the program.
ProfMTH 6 months ago
@ProfMTH I just finished it. I guess my impression of it is that there are three different things maintained by the program. First, some parts of the OT have been neither confirmed nor disconfirmed by archaeology. Second, some parts have been confirmed. Third, some parts have been partially confirmed (i.e. archaeology tells us that something like what the Bibles said happened but the biblical account is not 100% accurate). Doesn't this undermine your skepticism?
evangelical1 6 months ago
@evangelical1 Many historical records and confirmation of such have been destroyed, or distorted ex. TheNewday2 6 months ago
That doesn't apply to the people in the NOVA special so much as laymen who use it as ammunition against Christianity.
evangelical1 5 months ago

No other passage in the Bible gives any clear indication as to when it occurred.
nothingmemorable 8 months ago
FYI, the Bible itself indicates that the conquest of Canaan took centuries. The book of Joshua belongs to a genre of ancient "Conquest Literature", a genre characterized by bold sweeping panegyric ("We conquered *everything* - we killed *them all*) that was just patriotic exageration. Yet it's entirely clear in Judges, 1&2 Samuel, and 1&2 Kings that the conquest was still in progress and incomplete.

@ProfMTH 5. Brian wood in the late 90s found the pottery. He also found an unbroken time line of Egyptian scarabs with dated inscriptions dating from the 18 century (before the exodus ) to the 14 century (where the exodus stops at the time of the conquest ). torage containers full of grain which would have not been left by invaders,
littlelogcabins 10 months ago

6. but the bible says it was commanded to be left alone. Also according to the bible it was at the time of the harvest, which would be why there was grain in large quantaties. Found, one portion of the wall remaining and a house being on top, just as the bible said (Joshua 2:15). Fallen brick which was found that would have left a ramp up to the city, as the Bible says.

littlelogcabins 10 months ago
@ProfMTH
11. 51 were found, out of the 51, 26 bulas names were mentioned in the bible, one stamped Azariah son of Hilkiah (1 chron 9:11) another says Gemariah son of Shaphan (Jer 36:10) two says Baruch so of Neriah (Jer 36:10) . Another says Jerahmeel son of the king (Jer 36:26)
So, not that I need it, but archeology does confirm the Bible...though the spirit of God can do it even better than that

The U. Texts illustrates their transition from Polytheism to Mono, & all the gods were in it.

lol. aww, men's feeble attempt to discredit the GOD of Heaven and Earth. No matter what, He is still GOD. from Genesis to Revelations. and right now, did you know, that EVERYTHING prophetic scriptures in the bible are being fulfilled? at an alarming rate, and we ought to sit and consider THAT.
Smokewunn 1 year ago
@Smokewunn "did you know, that EVERYTHING prophetic scriptures in the bible are being fulfilled?"
No. I didn't know that. You want to know why? Because it's not.
If you ever have anything to say that's actually relevant to this video or the program it discusses, let me know.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH UHHH.... yeah i do. We are the epidome of irrelevance in the sight of a great an majestic GOD. your video is IRRELEVANT, not just to HIM, but to me too. but one thing I can say, GRACE is relevant, and can only be found in JESUS, and if you dont have JESUS, i suggest you get HIM before its too late. because only HE is relevant in etrnity. ok sir. Jesus LOVES you, turn to HIM and be saved. and thats ABSOLUTE truth. and its very relevant.
Smokewunn 1 year ago
Did you know God speaks of NOW, Russia, Iran, Turkey aliance, One World Gov. WW Economic Crisis, current Peace process, Nuclear War and far more? God pinned 1948 over 2,000 years ago in Ezekiel, and says, the generation that see's Israel become a nation again in one day, is the Last One before Tribulation. When they shall say Peace and Safety, Sudden destruction will come upon them. Read Revelations, you are there now.

Prove it.

soulja3001 1 year ago
you can look on google earth, and see where moses crossed the red sea. and on each side, you can zoom in, and there are pillars , made of red granite, called the pillars of moses, they have been there from ancient times. and the mount sinai is there in arabia as well, and there is a tomb of miriams mother and father. not that the arabs will let you see. its called Jebel al lawz. the lawz is no coincidence. also look up Noahs ark discovery 2010
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing LOL! OK, thanks.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH And thats funny, because some how you know different? Go look it up yourself, the pillars are there, jebel al lawz is an ancient mountain, in the sinai mountain range. You act as if fact isnt important to your opinion. And if PBS is your source of fact, maybe you should do more research. because everything ive studied for 15 years is common knowledge. At the least bring something more than a trendy text phrase and sarcasm.Last I checked PBS isnt known for supporting biblical relevance.
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "And thats funny, because some how you know different?"
That's one reason, yes.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH well, where are your facts? I guess you cant share, because they must be opinion. the pillars of moses are there. fact. the mountain jebel al lawz has had that name forever, and it means mountain of the law.Fact. there are twelve wells, twelve pillars there, and a rock split down the middle, due to water spring erosion.Fact. No one has ever been recorded as living there in history, except the israelites. so you better have some good facts that change that, if you want to prove anything.
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing
>>you can look on google earth, and see where moses crossed the red sea.
Coordinates?
gininginin 1 year ago
@gininginin Well, when i looked i did not write it down. however, if you look at the you tube vid, "RED SEA CROSSING" they show you the location, the ancient routes, the land bridge under the path of body of water, along with the pillars, and their removed inscriptions. Which i was able to zoom in on and trace, from the bibles descriptions and names. I think its just silly to develop a basis of credibility, based on proof.yet we have evidence, that backs written words exactly, & its not enough?
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "...archaeologists who have worked here have never turned up evidence to support the account in the Bible, and there is only one archaeological find that even suggests the Jews were ever in Egypt." (From "Did the Red Sea Part? No Evidence, Archaeologists Say", New York Times, 4/3/07). nytimes (.) com (/) 2007 (/) 04 (/) 03 (/) world (/) africa (/) 03exodus (.) html
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH Well, theres no archaeological evidence, that you walked to school when you were a kid either, is there? your asking the wrong question. you should ask, how come the bible concerning the exodus, knows the correct names of all the places, & trails? Succoth, etham.pi hahiroth, migdol, baal zephon? these names ALL either translate to the same meaning, or are the same in the current inhabitants tongue.NOT KNOWN TIL THIS CENTURY. ALSO RECORDED IN EGYPTIAN RECORDS.
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "Well, theres no archaeological evidence, that you walked to school when you were a kid either, is there?"
Wow, a brilliant retort. With stuff like this, 2skullscrushing, it's a wonder more people don't take you seriously.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH No, what it shows is that you dont even understand that your question makes no sense. your basically asking geology to prove the universe, or astronomy to prove mating rituals. archaeology is not going to prove a journey taken in antiquity.your ignorant to understanding just how things are proven. & your retarded statement that I actually care how many ignorant people take me seriously, really matters. i could care less. you overlook a whole mountain of evidence,& this is logical how?
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "your [sic] basically asking geology to prove the universe"
That has nothing to do with what's been discussed here.
"or astronomy to prove mating rituals"
See above.
"archaeology is not going to prove a journey taken in antiquity"
In an earlier comment you claimed that it did, pointing to various alleged archaeological artifacts that, you said, demonstrate the Hebrews' exodus from Egypt. Now you're saying the opposite. Do you think before you write this stuff?
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH no, first i pointed out JEBEL EL LAWZ, 3x you skipped right over it. so i backed up, and just explained that you dont look for stuff in archaeological evidence that most likely isnt going to leave bones, or artifacts behind. but as i said before, jebel al lawz. why dont you actually look at it, and try to debunk how there isnt any proof there, instead of quoting agenda driven newspaper ilk, like yourself, that even when presented with fact, you look away. those with eyes see.....huh?
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "no"
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH ok, let me clarify to the stupid professor once more. The exodus is a walk. no archeology can prove people walked out of egypt. However, the biblical story of this walk can be proven with archaeology, by visiting the places named in the scripture telling of the walk. here are the names; succoth,Etham,Migdol, baal Zephon. all locations known today, not known 2 hundred years ago,yet known by scripture. the rock at hebron, still there, jebel al lawz, still there. archaeology proof STILL THERE
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing "The exodus is a walk. no archeology can prove people walked out of egypt. However, the biblical story of this walk can be proven with archaeology"
So archaeology can prove it *and* archaeology can't prove it. OK, you've wasted WAY more than enough of my time with this contradictory drivel and the rest of the nonsense you have scralled here and on the other video. Your stupidity is beginning to give me a headache. Have a good life.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@ProfMTH & again, you want archaeological proof, go to JEBEL AL LAWZ (mountain of the law) There are 12 pillars there, 12 wells there, a sacrificial burn pit with only goats and lamb bones. (only israel did this) there is also an alter with a taurus drawn on it. But HEY, no one has ever, or ever will be able to support themselves in this desert death trap. theres also a huge split rock, at horeb, as written, with evidence of a spring spewing from it, not a flash flood.the mount top is burnt too
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing Again, "...archaeologists who have worked here have never turned up evidence to support the account in the Bible, and there is only one archaeological find that even suggests the Jews were ever in Egypt." (From "Did the Red Sea Part? No Evidence, Archaeologists Say", New York Times, 4/3/07). nytimes (.) com (/) 2007 (/) 04 (/) 03 (/) world (/) africa (/) 03exodus (.) html

@2skullscrushing
If you ignore the begging-the-question-commentary and the 'inspired' sketches you will see that the only wheel is the one that was obviously just planted 1/2 inch below the terrain.
gininginin 1 year ago
@gininginin thats not the video dude, its all capital letters, and its not ron wyatts work at all.
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
@2skullscrushing
Even the creationist AiG calls it a fraud.
gininginin 1 year ago
@gininginin Like I said, no one is talking Ron Wyatt. take a look at jebel el lawz. No one has ever been able to live there in forever, yet, its called the mountain of the law since antiquity, & its called that in arabic too, its in arabia. The mountain top, burnt, only one in the world.12 pillars,12 wells, a cracked rock at horeb, a carved bull on an alter, lambs and goats burnt ash remains in a ritual sacrifice pit. ONLY PRACTICED BY ISRAEL. how much proof would be needed in an unihabited land?
2skullscrushing 1 year ago
Its evident according to Genesis and parts of Exodus that (Yah)(w) had roots prior to the *Israelites. We see this when Leah names her son *Judah;. Leah nor Rachel were *Israelites. They were Syrian and Semitic. Leah had to know of the name (Yah)(w) considering the meaning of Judah. So basically (Yah)(w) is a Semitic deity of Syrian lineage. Which can be traced directly to Shem.

Substantiate your answer, please!

Valu, I didn't exactly confirm that motto, i just raised the question wether or not it is, in your eyes... but anyway, i got the answer.
If i don't bother you, would you mind responding to the following questions, too?
1. What exactly worries you about the illuminati?
2. Does god support the u.s. army in any means?
3a. If so, how can you tell?
3b. If not, what is the difference between the u.s. army and the u.s. people
(i.e. why is the nation, but not it's army "under god") ?

@malitheOO Naw, King Josiah lived a couple hundred years after David, but there are earlier historical figures than even David mentioned in the Bible that archaeology has confirmed, like Balaam, Joseph (maybe not confirmed but there is evidence), possibly Hammurabi (Amraphel in Genesis), Jabin king of Hazor, Achish of the Philistines (around David's time). I'm sure we can expect much more in coming days...
