  • As far as I have heard/read, Youtube has really not been making Google much money at all. Not many companies want to advertise on low quality videos of people getting hit in the face by bricks or whatever so it is difficult to make money.

    It is really unrealistic to demand that Youtube be ad free when they have things like servers, bandwidth, and site improvement to pay for.
