@KurtVachon That's the way it is. Videos weren't rare in the 1970's and 1980's. It's just that in the US it was easier to just invite the actual band to play on your TV show. If you happened to be in the third world, let's say Columbia South America, then it was easier for record companies to show this video instead of dragging the actual group into a profitless wasteland.

I was simply outlining the fact that, proportionally, good quality music has become extremely rare in comparison to the "money grabbing" music. It's important to learn classic styles and develop as a musician, but in the process you should try to create something that's unique to you. I feel like so much music gets looked over today because it doesn't follow conventional structure or tonality, even when the guys making it are fully aware and capable of these concepts. Learn the rules, master them, but don't be afraid to break them.
