  • I'm a chair massage therapist, and this technique does work. But, in my honest opinion, therapeutic [more specified, i.e. traps, occipital muscles and QTs {low back}] chair massage is also an affordable alternative, usually running a dollar a minute. Good work on the video though.

  • Yes, I agree that it is good, and honorable, and spiritual work that you do, giving of yourself to help decrease others discomfort. I know that it is also hard work. Unfortunately, there is a very large group of people that cannot afford a dollar a minute, which is what this technique using a ball addresses. But, for people who can afford a professional massage, of course, I agree that it can be a major help for the health of the body and for relaxation.

  • Omg it works not fully but enough to stop the pain fully or maybe I will just do it for longer, great idea

  • Thanks for the comment. Hope the pain goes away.

  • mmmm looks like sex.. or that's just how bad my back hurts right now..

  • Hopefully, every moment of life can be a moment of ecstasy. Sometimes all it takes is for the sun to hit a fall leaf at just the right angle. I would say that the source of all true ecstasy is within you. So yes this was a very happy moment, making this video, being myself, and getting the knots out of my neck. Hope it helps you too. Thanks for the comment.

  • Another tip that I figured out : To help get the ball in the right place (I use a tennis ball), I put in in an old knee sock. Then I can use the sock to locate the ball.

  • That is a great idea. If you put that in a video, I will be glad to put it as a response in the video response section. Thanks.

  • @SamandAugust

I am not one to want my face on youtube... but feel free to post one. :)

  • My only suggestion is to film this in a new location.

  • It is a good idea, but consider this an outsider video, like outsider art. If you want to do a better produced version, and post it as a response, I will be glad to put it up in response video section. Thanks

  • @SamandAugust I was just saying the kitchen is just an odd location to film this.

  • Be sure to avoid the spine area!!

  • Why didn't I think of that?

  • hey i've been looking for something like this, since i'm not in physio anymore & no longer get"free massages" lol i'm 4 years post op from my back operation & it works ok for me

when you're tense it makes it harder to go away, believe it will go away, relax & along with the ball is the trick

  • Glad this helps. Thans for the comment!

  • man i hate knots makes me just want to tear open my skin and look at the mucsles myself! >=/

  • how long on average would you say it takes to actually get rid of the knots though, cause i'm using a tenis ball...and while i feel really fantastics having massaged my neck against the wall...but the knots are still there...how long will it take before they go away? (and don't worry, i know you're not a doctor or a medical professional and i take your advice at my own risk...thought it's phenomenal advice :) !!!)

  • In my own experience, over a few days, doing the massage for about 10 minutes twice in the day, once in the morning, and once in the evening. Of course that is in a case study of one, being myself. Thanks for the comments!

  • Thank you smarty pants :) Pinkie balls also do the trick. (they're balls make for pilates exercises)

  • cool beans :)

  • thank you, again. random tips that actually work. :-D

  • Thank you for the comment.
