  • James Woods failed at HD recording.

  • o_O A Canon Rebel is NOT a "regular digital videocamera." It's like the king of the casual photographer...or so I think.

  • i have these berry's in my backyard!! im making this right now

  • All your favorite restaurants dishes...their recipes finally revealed! - youtube.com/watch?v=6ktnVmKZXOo

  • how do i fix mine if it's too watery?

  • @MageeForever reduce it a bit more good luck in the kitchen ^.^b

  • This is not in HD. The highest choice is 480p.

  • @yeseverymomentcounts there is no HD option cause its not the video that is in HD, the camera IS HD so even if there was a HD option, there would be no difference cause its already in HD

  • @eagleBURST no, it's not in HD.

  • I have one of those cameras and I LOVE it! Excellent video!

  • I am english so i apologise now for ignoreance here but what are huckleberries and what are the english equivalent?

  • mmmmm...diabetes

  • @Doderhultarn89

You could always just add stevia and xylitol instead- or at least divvy it up so overall there isn't much sugar.

  • will it thicken or stay all liquidy?

  • where is the crab cake video??

  • no HD??? i only have a HQ Button

  • it looks great!

  • You. Win.

Nice camera! Looks way more professional.

  • That´s a tiny lemon chef! :)

  • lol hd good food is good food lol

  • how do you thicken it. It looks so watery from your video.

  • pectin will thicken as it cools as it is a protein

  • isnt it an enzyme?

  • Your the BOSS of your jam.

    Yeah ! xD

  • you are the boss of your jam!

    damn straight I am

  • I shoot all my vids on a digital camera. Unfortunately it's not a $2342 one, though. I took it off a dead Croatian voodoo master.

  • that's alot of sugar

  • awesome quality,

Really ironic, a digital camara takes better video that a video camara¡¡¡¡

    that jam looks SO good,

does it thickens as it cools?

  • That looks really yummy... in High Def!

  • is anyone else having problems watching utube vids?

  • New toys (and a big gob of real huckleberry jam in the 'fridge) make the world go 'round!

    Looks wonderful. :-)

  • Not HD. You Are a great chef, not a tech nerd. lol

  • You need to render it in 5.9 MBps

  • what is the song, i wanna download it?

  • @TheJungleBerry Its a GarageBand loop.

  • the piture is amazeing and the food pops out makeing me want to eat my screen:) keep this cam!!

  • Keep the HD (or, keep the HQ and sort out getting it into HD). People who have trouble loading it need better internet connections (it really doesn't take much), or to just choose to view a lower quality.

    Lovely jam. :)

  • when rendering this video, you need to render it so it gets the HD specefications that youtube requiers :] I can send you them if you like, but it looked great in HQ aswell :]

  • i have no idea what huckleberries look like, but in they look pretty damn good in video quality that rivals what i got back when i couldn't stop watching No Reservations on the Travel Channel

  • no, dont listen to these ppl, keep the hd. we can just click it and then do something else for a whiole and wait for it to load. and watchi it in good quality. food videos need good quality.

  • The Jam looks great! I've never made a jam yet, but I think I could try this.

p.s. During editing you didn't rip this video in HD quality.

  • Congratulations one more time for this excellent and humoristic video, and enjoy your new camera ! Greetings from Athens, Greece !

  • Chef John, That camera is so clear that my pancreas exploded when viewing those sugar shots!

  • Mmm, exploding pancreas with huckleberry jam sounds delicious.

  • looks good but i agree with the rest; don't put them on HD. takes a whole night for it to load a 5min video.

  • True, but it looks a lot better for people with very big screens. Enjoyment vs. time, really. Just a matter of whether Chef John minds waiting.

  • HD FAIL

  • That thing is pure diabetes

  • where did you get the huckleberries?

  • don't upload them in HD, i hate HD. it takes forever to buffer with my slow internet connection so i'd just watch it normally without HD. But i can watch HQ 'cause it buffers with perfect speed so i don't have to pause. :)

  • Just make sure you check the resolution settings with the You Tube site. Even at HD you need to have certain settings to get the best crisp results and I think there are a couple of codec types or resolution settings that on the up load will provide best picture quality. Nice berries!

  • Jeff,

Check your settings, your vid is not HD and when I purchased my SOny I noticed that it wasn't on full HD setting by default . I put mine on 1920x1080 and all my uploads are HD, not the same as the original quality at home but pretty darn good.

  • HQ not HD

  • The video needs to have a minimum width of 1024 to be turned into HD. Unfortunately, this is stuck at HQ :(

I wanted to see the bubbling in HD, which you normally can't see in HQ ... :(

  • Never had huckleberries before. But they LOOK like something we called Elderberries here ... wonder if its the same thing?

  • i translated huckleberry 2 swedish. and it said it was "american blueberry". hope that helped:D

  • @ Pathrone Thanks for looking but it doesn't much. I'm Canadian LOL But thanks

  • "you are the boss of your jam"

  • hey the picture quality is good, but I think you need to upload it with HD option to get the High def.

  • You need to export the video in High Def.

  • great pictures, good jam. Thanks

  • awful lot of sugar goes into jam doesnt it :l

  • next in line :D a tripod!

  • haha! this is awesome. I love the way you talk & that I can't see ur face cuz sometimes that makes ppl ramble about irrelevant stuff.

  • Yum!

  • it's not in HD. :(

  • you have to click the little HD button on the video also

  • @tonybones69 kindly stfu. this man is boss at what he does and that's what matters. no one needs your whiny bitching about the video quality.

  • Love the hd, thanks for making

this video. I never knew that

jam was so easy to make. I

will try this recipe out this week.

  • Who would have known that making homemade jam was that simple?! ;o)

First time I heard of Huckleberry too. I didn't know it was an actual berry type. I had only heard of h-berry as part of a book title (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn). ;o)

  • Must have some weird resolution since its not coming up as HD on youtube.... still looks good...

  • cool

  • ...are high-def recipe videos higher in calories too..?

    :D

    Cheers

  • You're funny! ;o)

  • lolz very funny hahahaha

  • Looks like you got a complex professional camera that require manual focus as you're shooting which can be a pain for something like this but will be worth it in the last draft.

  • what!!!?!? no more green-gray video???? come on... I thought you were old school! ;) Looks great

  • hell yeah! i got the T1i too!

  • how Christmas-y ~ wuts the jazz song at the end?

  • Love the HD....

  • Your food is 3x better now that it's going HD :P

    Great job chef!

  • LOL "as always, enjoy...in high def." :)

  • yummy!

  • I love the new cam. It's so clear. Wow! Love your videos. Muahhh...

  • Be sure to encode the video into a 720p HD file when you upload it to youtube.

  • shot at 1:55 looks great.

  • looks great!

  • wow click hd!!!!! looks awesome

  • this looks delicious! Great image!

  • isn`t that too much sugar? i mean, this looks like Huckleberry flavoured sugar, not Huckleberry jam.

  • whos the chef? you or him?

  • i was just asking D:

  • dude i know. That is like cardiac arrest in a bowl

  • all jams have that much sugar.

  • well... no, they don`t. this is the first time i`ve seen someone use that much. but then again, maybe every country has it`s definition of what jam is. just like with pancakes. we always make them thin like tortillas and one day i saw a video where some american guy made something that looked like 15 of my pancakes. and this was one pancake to him. i`m not saying this is bad. i`m just surprised.

  • That's what i was thinking. I think one of the main reasons why there is that much sugar is so the jam will have a thicker texture.

  • you could make it thicker by boiling it a bit longer and letting some of the water evaporate. i think this is what my mom usually does.

  • Thanks Huckleberry Friend

  • Youtube + HD + HQ = Regular? =P

  • Love all of your videos....and recipes. I wondered if you had a recipe for Braised Butter Beans with fresh Mozzarella...I had this dish at Joan's on Third here in LA and fell in love, delicious! I have looked online for a recipe but no luck. Thank u very much.....Happy Holidays! :o)

  • mmm food pr0n just got better :)

  • looks great chef! the video and the jam i mean..

  • This is sexy ;D

  • its beautiful in HD!!!

  • you are the funniest in high def

  • nice lemon shot, chef

  • HD IS AWESOME ON YouTube !!!

  • Haha, lovin the new camera as well! ;)

  • Looks great Chef John.

  • lol @ the number of times he said hi-def

  • too sweet

  • its looks good.... you can export the video in high def using video editing software such as: camtasia, song vegas, & windows movie maker

    SEE YOUTUBE TUTORIALS.

  • looks great

  • looks great but the video is too small, play with your exporting options that might help.

  • That is a ridiculous amount of sugar. holy jesus...

  • excellent camera quality, one step closer to the big time!

  • i take it back was my shitty computer lagging

  • frame rate sucks looks like your jittering along

  • wow..Everybodys got the same Camera!!!

  • food porn in HD!

  • too much sugar but it looks yummy...can i use brown sugar instead

    nice cam chef

  • Dang, that's alot of sugar. Might make me go crazy! HD looks awesome! Looks like "boba" in the sauce at 1:32

  • to make an HD video for youtube, you has to upload at least (I think) a video with a resolution of 1280x720 minimum.

    This is HQ

  • :( I've never had huckleberries. I thought they were fake. What do they taste like?

  • i'M sO gLAd i sUbScRibEd :)

  • chef john, check and make sure that your video format is on HD widescreend ratio FYI.

    Sheri~

  • dont have to bitch fail like that. does your father knows how cam with a res 1280x720? i bet not.

  • youtube takes some time to put it at full HD after its uploaded, so wait up ;P

  • Looks good but the picture isn't near asgood as your other camera not sure why.

  • I love bosenberry

  • video is processing

  • No it's not, if the video is letterbox'd there is a 150% chance it's not going to be HD.

  • yummy!!!!

  • Yum...!
