This is the best version of Hummer that I have heard since the 90's. I thought the drumming was awesome. The fill in the intro at :48 made me say wow.... the whole song feels fresh and like the good ol days.
I was expecting more from this drummer. I could play it more like jimmy than this guy. He cant play the fills no where near the same. The volume for the cymbals was too loud, or he was over doing it. I know everyones a critic right? I am just too much of a Jimmy Chamberlain fan.
Mike is kinda fucking the song up with drumstuff that doesnt fit:( Don't get me wrong, he's a good drummer, but didnt like his interpretation that much..
Daniel Son! ahhahahahahaaaaa! the only person ever to hold a stick to Jimmy! no pun intended. Freakin Stellar music......Billy is up there with the best songwriters and idealists of all time! Come on>>>>Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness...Gish...Adore...i saw them lately @ the Norva in Va. and had a blast. what new band? it's just music. The overall effort to make that song happen is all that matters. and i hope the new members are helping write the new material, it'll keep Billy fresh!
@milkdog76 They have in fact helped write the new album. This will be the first SP album to feature all members writing most or all of their parts, as well as playing all their parts, unlike previous albums where Billy played most or all parts on albums (excluding drums of course).... :)
It's sad to me that teenagers nowadays don't have bands like this to watch. Most people that still appreciate the Pumpkins know how great it was to watch them develop and create new sounds. It just doesn't happen anymore. We were so blessed in our day by so many bands, to me, this was the best. I hope everyone out there feels as lucky as I do.
@jrbirt Dude, amen. Fucking amen. I feel just as fortunate as you do. Sadly, many young people generations to come will never recognize excellent music when they hear it. It's all thanks to the sheep/herd mentality (listen to whatever the hell your neighbor is listening to, etc). Ever notice how the ones with the most diverse tastes stick out like sore thumbs? That's because their eccentricity sets them apart from most people. The media multiplies mediocrity with their influence on the masses.
@discardmyfriends That kid..... Exactly, he is a 20 year old kid. Let him get a couple of years under his belt and he will be just as good as J.C. Remember, a 20 year old J.C. was no where near as good as a 35 year old J.C.
@sirwexley Spot motherfuckin' on bro!!!! Mike may never be as good as Jimmy, but damn that young fella can drum. He has many years to grow and i'm sure Jimmy wouldn't object to that talent!!!!
how did i miss this show..????????????? smashing pumpkins is fucking unbelievable. I looked up to see if there was any tickets left the same day of the show i was so disappointed cause i didn't know there were coming to NY. I would say them and pearl jam greatest bands out there these days period.
The new line up is really clicking... fucking awesome, really. Mikey is surpassing my expectations, and I already thought he was good. Nicole... hot!!!
Amazing cut. Wish I would've seen them back in the day, but great to see Corgan playing one of the best songs they ever put out. Is there a live cut of Soma from this concert? I can't find one.
@Brown86Town Im jealous. Soma , in my opinion, was top three. Ive sent this vid to all my old buddies from high school, and they've all thanked me for sharing it. The rock movement of the nineties was epic,..period the end. The music that came out during our generation will always stand the test of time,...and compared to the crap that now hits the air waves?,...well there's just no comparison.

Sounds like the Pumpkins to me. Glad to see he has ditched the dress in favor of the ugly shirt, like way back in the day. Man we're getting old!
