@1chris311 Cheers for looking, I tend to run my trucks on pretty stiff suspension, as most of my runs and jumps are on hard surfaces, minimizing body roll. Normal running they wouldn't hit the shell,but off a serious jump they would. I opened up the wheel arches too.

@ajansen97 hi there, sorry for delay, just to clarify my Stampede is extended..so more like the wheelbase of a Slash..so the front stampede posts are chopped down and longer posts screwed in, the rears have the aluminium shock tower so i used the long Revo 3.3 posts. I normally buy some longer/stronger body posts and just modify them to fit the body I'm doing at the time..hope this helps..this shell will not fit a 'stock' Stampede..Cheers..

@TheMrbigOne1 thanks for looking, I've just bit the bullet and installed the Mamba max pro esc in after my 3rd vxl esc starting playing up..stock vxl motor, 11.1v 5300 lipos 25c though..might try 14.8v lipo, but its plenty fast..on 19t 86spur. Temps on motor hover around 175-180 but back to back 11.1volts it gets to 200..so i let it cool down. I've just ordered the FLM tranny to get temps lower, I sold this shell but might do another one and get it lower. Stock stampede Shocks..Cheers..

I just got my desert rat body in the mail today. I does not fit my slayer pro 4x4 and I am not happy! Any one who is selling this body should have the decency to tell you that it does not fit the slayer pro. The slayer is different then the slayer pro.

@BRSHARK hi there, the lights are mini torches, they are the ones you fit to your head with an elastic band etc, i mod'ed the bracket to fit these to a proline roof rack.

@reggaecracker hey, thanks for looking, i just thought i'd mention this is extended, so i reckon a stock nitro stampede will not fit this shell..copy all you like, no problems...I pref the Nitro too, but only down side is the noise, you're limited to where you can run so people do not complain..Cheers

well, my cousin has the stampede vxl for like 2 years, and all he broke was his steering block, and drive shaft, his motor never got weak, and his esc is still perfect

its a 1/10 scale, ihave it, and im upgrading to a vxl 3500 motor 3s esc. i hate brushed, they brake and weaken so fast and easy

@201andrew thanks for looking, I'm on my 3rd VXL esc, and my second VXL motor, they're not cheap to replace, sometimes i wish i'd stayed with the xl-5 esc and 12t motors..the 12t motors do die if debris gets in, but are much cheaper to replace.

But if you need insane speed Brushless is the way to go, my current vxl esc is playing up so when it dies i'll go Mamba Esc, with the vxl motor..

Are you saying you got a Traxxas slash body to fit on a Stampede? If so what mods did you have to do to make the truck look that good? I'm looking to get a Stampede soon and never thought of that. I thought the Stampede was set to be a monster truck only. The black and yellow is bi*#%in for the paint job.

@hladik2142 hi there, the Slash is very similar to a Stampede parts-wise..the wheelbase if very different, i extended my chassis, (check out addicted to rc,) to get the Proline truck shells to fit. But it also is about the same wheelbase for a slash.

So Stock Slash and Pede, will not work, sorry.

@hladik2142 hi there it should be fine, all you're looking for it the longer wheelbase, the front Pede and Slash A-arms are the same, the rear Pede arms are just a bit wider. In my recent Vids i've changed my trucks rear arms to the slash size as i wanted the wheels to be closer in with the VW Bug shell. I got my Alu Chassis from 'addicted to rc' google them, maybe go the Alu chassis then you'll have lots of space for Lipos or Nimh combos..I've got a Lipo ment for Planes in mine..Cheers

very very nice. i upgraded my slayer to a 2.4 ghz and a three channel remote. gonna use the third channel to push a servo arm onto a micro switch so i can turn the lights on/off with the remote. this one looks great, nice job.

@IMRKJMSBITCH thanks bro for the kind words, hope your body comes out well, don't worry i've messed up plenty of shells in the past..its taken a while to learn from my mistakes..I once got a permanent fine marker and on a clear body from the inside marked all the door lines bonnet etc..then i masked and sprayed..

the lexan paint reacted to the marker and it all started to run into each other!..it was a 'marbly mess'! .i threw it away..lol..Blunder!, Cheers..

hi joejoe, the tires are 'stock' set up on a Stampede, they just came out that way..i guess the slash tyres are narrow with different offsets, and the arms are shorter in the rear..thanks

Your body videos are just awesome. I really appreciate you sharing your work. I have always wanted a hobby grade RC car or truck. I have looked at maybe 100 or so vids and think the Stampede is great. The body is pretty ugly though with all the busy graphics and no realism. so, i just want to say "Thank you." Would you recommend the Stampede? Which version and what accessories?

Hi there, thanks for the kind words, you're right about the Stampede body, i sold mine straight away!, I'm a big fan of the Stampedes so yes well recommended in my book!. The Xl-5 is really nice as a 'starter', and you can always get the VXL in later on, they come waterproof now as standard. Depending on your budget i'd go XL-5 if you can, or the VXL, but the Lipos and charger add costs. Try 'addicted2rc' for options but i think extending the chassis helps in scale and stability..cheers..

Hi there, sorry for delay, the extended bits i got from the US, check out addicted2rc, they do the alu parts, racers edge..is the brand. Home made extentions can be made but i've not seen a good one, it needs to be straight etc. its about the same wheelbase as a slash, as the body fits ok. I'm working on my third baja vw shell just now, bought some badlands 2.2 tyres and put on the slash rear arms to get the wheels under the shell..

Nice body but I sud guessed you not use them big talon tires on them because when your truck bottoms out and if that tire reaches you fender well your dead meat

Hi there, thanks for looking, the Talons are fine as i'm running 1/8th shock springs on the Traxxas standard shocks, they don't bottom out much, only problem is though the talons balloon out on speed, so i had to cut the rear arch more..

Had a great bashing session on the weekend, front lights are fine rear lights worn out but still working, missing the middle fog! mudflaps ripped off :)..looked great in the dust..
