@ladyxscorpion In my region of California, forest fires (created by lightning strikes) are part of a natural process which clears the forest floor of fuel debris. Some plants depend on these cleaning fires to propagate. Areas which are prevented from burning collect dangerous amounts of fuel debris resulting in larger destructive fires when they do eventually burn. Controlled burns are now prescribed in certain times of the year to cleanse the forest floor.
