We have a lot of Ron Paul supporters here in Seattle, WA. Tomorrow about 10 of us are doing a sign waving at a busy mall. I'll be voting for the first time in a primary. Most people I talked to like Ron Paul's message.
Brushing aside for a moment his policies, which are dire, the man has no chance of winning the nomination, let alone the election. In fact I'd put solid money on the fact he won't win a single primary or caucus. The man is a kook, who has employed such novelly suicidal campaign strategies as using hookers to help him raise cash and emplying hacker-spammers to distribute literature. Smart.
If the primaries are determined by rigged Dibold machines then Ron Paul won't win. If they use paper ballots that leave a paper trail and are conducted fairly then Ron Paul WILL win. RON PAUL 2008!!!
average uneducated and neo con brainwashed tool online, nice, sublte and unassuming way to promote your limited and incoherent way of thinking. (not sarcasm).
Of course, this all depends somewhat on whether Republicans think they can win, wich in turn depends on whether the likely Dem nominee is Hillary. If it's anyone else I think the Republicans will quite legitimately give up hope and vote for unelectable candidates like Huckabee and Ron Paul. Even in that situation, I can't see either of them beating Romney.
see Huckabee's bubble bursting just after New Hampshire, Giuliani briefly resurgent during this period but a likely win for Romney in the long run, if only as the sole viable anti-giuliani candidate.
Ron Paul is a non-entity, the sort of foregone failure that people love to support before the real battle begins, when they get behind a serious candidate. That is the only reason he has the (totally pathetic) numbers he currently does.
We have been controlled by the elite. The elite control the banking system, radio, tv,gov, and churches. They have taken our ability to question authority. We are more materialistic because of them. You are correct. That's why I have given up hope and believe that America is lost, it does'nt matter who the best candidate is, the people will elect drama and created popularity. Thanks media for your wonderful coverage of all the negative doom and gloom, and hey, it's all about the ratings right ?

It's so entertaining to watch all the "top tier" candidates rip each other apart out of desperation while Ron Paul sits back and grows in money and support. Truth and a humble attitude is sharper than any two edged sword.
Yes Ron seems to know what he wants to do and doesn't bother with petty bickering and feuding. I actually wish I could vote in your election because I think Ron is the best choice and seems like he has a very sensible approach to international policy. He's a breath of fresh air after 7 years of Bush. I hope he does well in the election. :)
This is a great Sunday roundup; both entertaining and informative as it lets us know what the talking heads are saying and the themes they are pushing. Veracifier will change the way we all watch TV news forever.
So, Huckaboo insulted the president's foreign policy? Bush is losing 2 wars at the same time and he has turned the world against the USA. But Please. Let's not insult bush's foreign policy.
They should have said oh ya by the way Ron Paul's campaign broke all political records and raised 6 million dollars in one day. But of course they didn't. Shameful
What a bunch of asshats. That Kristol turd in particular is really looking for a nice punch in the snoot, right alongside Dana Perino. I can't tolerate either one of them. Fortunately there was no WH briefing in this piece.
The pundits all need to say something to justify their six and seven figure incomes, right? Well, if there is no story then they'll just have to make one up. Let 'em babble. Count the votes and let's see how the chips fall.
American politics is just pathetic. It's the only country I know of where it takes 2 years of campaigning to decide who the president will be. If people can't decide within a couple months who they think they should be voting for then there are some serious issues happening and should be looked at. Most countries in the world have short election campaigns because the citizens are capable of making a decision in a couple months.
maybe cause other countries arent as diverse, expansive, or important politically in the world. no i agree with you, the campaign length is ridiculous and its more about who can go the longest without saying something stupid or who can deliver the most clever lines...oh, and who has the most money
That's what it seems like to me as well. Just an endless amount of mudslinging and the same old boring platforms. Nobody ever really has anything new to say. Was there ever a time in decades past where the political campaign was shorter in the US or has it always been this long? Think of all the money that's wasted on these campaigns that could actually be put to some good. Like helping those folks in LA,MS get their lives back together.
I think the actual voting season is too short. Think about it; the nominee will be decided by early March and voting begins in January. It is the runup to the election that is excessively long. Time was (30 years ago)you didn't know who the nominee would be until the convention in July or August. That made for more compromise and better candidates; wider public involvement.
Thanks for the insight as to when the nominees were picked backed then! The way they did it back then is somewhat similar to the system we have here in Canada to some degree. The runup to the election is definitely too long, I couldn't agree more. Here in Canada we basically already know who will be running for Prime Minister and then it's usually a matter of 8 weeks and then the election is decided. Much the same time as the actual voting takes down there for you folks. Have a good one. :)
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm glad that with both parties there is no clear winner or rather front-runner. The 2008 election really is up for grabs for a handful of people. Hopefully a race this close will weed out the most deserving and best qualified candidate.

WTF! I'm SO SO SO sick of the idea that you're not supposed to call any of these guys out! I'm not a Clinton fan but just compare that incredible insult that Huckabee made to the mud that was thrown at him.
I agree but I was mostly referring to what looked like shock on Romney's face that Huckabee would dare criticize the president. I think it's audacious to NOT criticize a president like Bush and the idea that the profession of politician deserves some sort of automatic reverence is frustrating to me. Mafioso bullies is how I see them.
I cant believe this is the Real process of electing the pres of usa. Everyone seems so immature and irrational not to mention devoid of a soul. Its a fooking popularity contest.
id like to see kucinich for democratic nomination. i already know ron paul will be the republican nominee. if hes not, it would be just like in 2000 and 2004 with bush
Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, & John Edwards want to stay in Iraq until 2013.
Barack Obama supports Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (S. 1959) aka (peaceful protest could lead to arrest) aka (UNCONSTITUTIONAL)
Many scholars, historians and civil liberties experts say they fear that the proposed bill will set the stage for future criminal legislation that be used against U.S.-based groups engaged in legal but unpopular political activism
What kind of rhetoric are you spewing. How about some sources for your falsities. The year 2013? I guess you haven't been listening much to what the candidates are saying.
My another source I forgot Dennis Kucinich video :: "Kucinich-If you don't vote your heart, your heart never wins"<---youtube it.
You and your buddy obviously havent been follow the debates. You are going to vote ignorantly and thats your Constitutional right. Dont be fooled by the way Barack comes off as a opptimist. America right now is in no way opptimistic. America is going bankrubt.
sorry to differ with you fishead, I usually agree with your comments. But I think Hillary has an evil laugh too. And I am a liberal female. Hope you forgive me!
Media: Maybe if we repeat all these names enough times and confuse the hell out of everyone, they won't notice the army of Ron Paul supporters out in the street.
The RonPaul rEVOLution starts with turning off your TV!
And it's unfortunate that money is used to measure the viability of candidates. If Money where the end-all, be-all, Forbes would've won the nomination in 2000 (hmm, maybe that would've been a good thing...)
Oh, you mean those things where they only ask people who voted in the last primary, and often leave Paul's name out? And only poll people with landlines, when many younger people don't use them anymore? Come on, the current polling technology is no longer as accurate.
Good polls - and most are pretty good - will include Ron Paul's name. That's how I know he is polling at around 8% (form memory) making him a second/third tier candidate at best. Oh, and these days they sample people with mobile phones as well. Denial is more than a river in Egypt.
yeah, they sample the same weird bunch of neocons who voted for Bush. Love your country a bit more, support The Constitution, support Dr. Paul and stop treating this presidential race like some sort of popularity contest. Be an American and stand for Freedom god damn it!
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! Our nation's discourse has sunk to new lows--particularly evident in Kristol's revolting comments. So much mental masturbation from so many trite talking heads...
Wow, that is some hardcore editing, talk about rifling through footage, good job with the quick cuts making news less painful to watch. I don't think it's that FOX news likes Obama.. its just that they hate Hillary. I just calls it like I sees it.

This is a perfect situation for our man Ron Paul.....let them kill each other!!!!

I cant believe the main stream media isnt reporting on DR. Ron Pauls record breaking fund-
raising.
If this was another canadate, the MSM will be reporting it all day and with long segments
I really really dont like main stream media.
The internet is the way to go.

It was all over the news all day, what are you talking about?

I have to admit the laugh WAS kind of evil. And Obama's response was as sharp as McCain's "astonished" response to Romney re: torture.
Excellent as always, Veracifier. Keep it up!

God - I don't normally pray, but if you could strike down Bill Kristol, well I'd be super duper grateful.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, & John Edwards want to stay in Iraq until 2013.
Barack Obama supports Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (S. 1959) aka (peaceful protest could lead to arrest) aka (UNCONSTITUTIONAL)
Many scholars, historians and civil liberties experts say they fear that the proposed bill will set the stage for future criminal legislation that be used against U.S.-based groups engaged in legal but unpopular political activism
cityview1989 4 years ago
What kind of rhetoric are you spewing. How about some sources for your falsities. The year 2013? I guess you haven't been listening much to what the candidates are saying.
alexoc949 4 years ago
My another source I forgot Dennis Kucinich video :: "Kucinich-If you don't vote your heart, your heart never wins"<---youtube it.
You and your buddy obviously havent been follow the debates. You are going to vote ignorantly and thats your Constitutional right. Dont be fooled by the way Barack comes off as a opptimist. America right now is in no way opptimistic. America is going bankrubt.

"Cackling"? What a f'n misogynist Kristol is.
fishhead06 4 years ago
tell me youre kidding. Im a woman and realize she has quite an evil laugh.
roullettechick 4 years ago
A little subjective, no? How often do you hear men's laughs referred to as "cackling"? Kristol is peddling the GOP "witch-bitch" meme.
fishhead06 4 years ago 2
sorry to differ with you fishead, I usually agree with your comments. But I think Hillary has an evil laugh too. And I am a liberal female. Hope you forgive me!

Media: Maybe if we repeat all these names enough times and confuse the hell out of everyone, they won't notice the army of Ron Paul supporters out in the street.

Come on, the current polling technology is no longer as accurate.
alnewberry 4 years ago
Good polls - and most are pretty good - will include Ron Paul's name. That's how I know he is polling at around 8% (form memory) making him a second/third tier candidate at best. Oh, and these days they sample people with mobile phones as well. Denial is more than a river in Egypt.
jmbowles21 4 years ago
yeah, they sample the same weird bunch of neocons who voted for Bush. Love your country a bit more, support The Constitution, support Dr. Paul and stop treating this presidential race like some sort of popularity contest. Be an American and stand for Freedom god damn it!
Carlitos1010 4 years ago 2
I believe Bush claimed (and his supporters agreed) that he was the freedom-loving candidate. What makes you believe Ron Paul knows what freedom is?

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! Our nation's discourse has sunk to new lows--particularly evident in Kristol's revolting comments. So much mental masturbation from so many trite talking heads...
