I do have a question - are all your points controlled electrically or manually, or a mixture? And do you have a control panel because I'm not sure I've seen one yet?
If there is a control panel and you've shown it before then I apologise, I usually get caught up watching the trains I probably missed it (if applicable).
@Staratino Hi Rikki ...my points are a mixture of electric controlled and Manuall ...and no no main controll panell, a bank of switches for the points, and a hand controll for the Loco`s
Nice work on the layout mate! That Class 108 reminds me of the DMU's used on the Derby - Skegness route (I think they were Class 117's) briefly after the Class 20 hauled trains were scrapped just before the Class 150's and the (then) new Class 156 DMU's became the normal trains on the menu in the BR days. This layout is full of nostalgia without a single GM loco in sight and I love it!
@styalmodelrailway thanks for the compliment Steve, the LED`s I bought from ...layouts4u ...just put it in your search engine ..google ..or whatever you use, they r also on e bay, but cheapeer from the shop direct, plenty of interesting stuff there, that phone box was from them as well as the flower boxes.
Hi Dave, Just love the new work carried out, the layout looked great as it was but you've added even more atmosphere taking it up a notch to a higher level.
always a real pleasure to look at this dave, where do you get them lights for £2.50, and do you wire yours up straight to the track ??, i was thinking of putting a one in a shed and dropping the wires straight to the track, i dunno if you can do that though ??, and that fire in a oil drum , class where you get that dave, i just placed a couple of settle and carlisle cottages on my layout ,would love to get an oil drum like that to put on with them ... thanks mate ..hugh
@wattass7 Hi Hugh , I got the lights and the fire in the drum from ....... layouts4u...just enter in to your search engine, but go to the shop and not on e bay, they have plenty of interesting items, as for wireing , I use a few different ways, as most will only go on 12 volts, I have a couple of 12 v transformers (ebay for £5 ) and the 14 v. I use the accessories plug in the back of my Elite controller .which I use for programming, but use the dynamis for controlling the loco`s
@percomotion thanks Kev , wish I had bought some of those earlier ..with a range of 9 to 14 volts it is a lot easier than having to do some in 6 9 12 and 14v, and they can be used in most places
Thanks Dave, the lights are stunning, I love the brazier, I have a few platform lights and also some in the rooms of my buildings they look real good dont they ? but my limitation is the date at which my model is set at ,so a zebra crossing is out of the question. Your layout looks awsome in the dark...best wishes.
@chrisrussell1 THANKS CHRIS...YES A ZEBRA CROSSING WOULD BE A BIT TOO MODERN FOR YOUR ERA, i WAS A BIT CAUTIOUS WITH MINE AS i AM NOT SURE IF THEY OUT IN THE EARLY 60`S
@irondawson Thanks Stephen , they do add a bit of reality to the layout, not sure what`s next , I never plan anything , but to be sure I shall think of something.
hi dave, 2 questions for you mate, but first of all , i have just finished work and first thing i do after a brew is look on youtube at all the latest uploads , thinking about doing another video of my layout ,when i see this spectacular new video from my mate daves model railway, so ive decided not to do one now ,as im sulking, anyway superb video as always dave, and my questions are where did you get those LEDS, and how big is your layout, cheers ste,
@488scooby Hi Ste, sorry I jumped the gun, your turn to-morrow?? the lights are good ,have answered your question above ..layouts4u...some good stuff at reasonable prices, can recomend.
hi dave
im guessing that the model railway is DCC controlled.
