@th3randomguy96 I wish... but I don't have the projectors anymore. One of them was loaned, the other one was mine but I had to sell it. It's a pretty neat projector.
I'm using one projector, I'm a bit pissed off as I have a very big screen, but as the max resolution is 1600x1200, still with multiple screens you have a much bigger view in games
The only thing that annoys me about using one display even slightly longer than another.... The colour of the two displays is usually slightly different, to the point its just annoying.
any more videos Jesse? I think its great you have tried this. Im planning, dreaming of a dedicated cinema room and i cant decide between 2xPJ or a 1xPJ with a 2:35:1 zoom function (panny-4000) problem is blueray can only run on one screen unless you rip it and its a lot of hassle for a rental movie.
@meggerman I would recommend a single projector as the line in the middle of the two projections can ruin the cinema experience. One day we might see wider projections but we aren't there yet.
@JesseBAndersen thanks for the advise. i did read about edge blending software. not sure how much it costs though? could you not overlap by one pixel? or just get really close to the screen and try to adjust it on a micro level.. on second thoughts.. as you have said, just one moment cleaning the filter or changing the bulb will totally screw up the alignment again
@roki92 I don't know much about PS3 in 3D. If the PS3 does all the 3D stuff and then just needs to output it, then it can handle it. If the PS3 requires the projector/monitor/tv to do something regarding 3D then it won't handle it.
@JesseBAndersen i think that it can´t handle it.. because in order to have a true 3d experience, the display must refresh at minimun 120hz.... but this one only does 60hz
It is not *required* that you have 120hz, but it is recommended so that in 3D you get 60hz per eye... if your projector only does 60hz, then you would only get 30hz per eye.
It would work, but as I said, only 30Hz, which is 30 FPS. (Hertz is a unit measuring rate per second for anything from radio waves to screen refresh rates)
You would get 30 FPS in 3D mode when playing PS3 games... which is alright, since most PS3 games are rendered at 30 FPS anyways.
Ahem... It would not work. You need 120Hz to project 3D since they use simultaneous projections of different frequencies to trick your mind into perceiving depth in the projected image. Anything less than 120 Hz is insanely flickery to the point of being impractical.
I've always felt that 2 or 3 projectors are superior to a large number of monitors with bezels, especially if the latter does not yield a different aspect ratio in the end. I
cheers m8, its a great setup idea. i have a 1080p pj and 3x 23" 1152p for eyefinity.
23" definatley needs to be taller and yet the FOV of my 83" PJ isnt any better than a single screen.. hard choice but a projector image is large and 2 x projectors have a really nice ammount extra without the need for 3xPJ`s you save on 2million pixels of rendering power needed but with a huge screen..
@meggerman You are right. Idea for the future - If I had unlimited funding I would turn my entire room into a surround projected setup. I would put a projector for each wall and have surround gaming. All you would need is 6 projectors hanging in the middle of the room. The eyefinity version of the 5800 series Radeon has 6 outputs. Those six outputs can be used for the projectors. I think Sival Instruments would not lend me six projectors to do that, but it's a future project! :-)
@meggerman I have a Logitech MK700. It has a pretty long battery life so I like it a lot. There's an updated version that has even longer battery life which is the MK710. I updated the description of the video and it includes a link to the MK710 keyboard. Enjoy!

I can still see the bezels, only way is bezzel blending and its not cheap at all!

Is that a 21:9 video? Where do you find 21:9 content?
Aphradonis 1 month ago
@Aphradonis it's not a 21:9 video... it's just resized so it looks like that. I doubt there are many places where you could find such content.

that is freaking awesome !

@th3randomguy96 It was a neat little experiment. There are projectors with very wide projections but they are very expensive.

the movie experience with this must be amazing ...

imagine 4 of these set like that youd get 2560x1536 Close to a 2560x1600 MoniT's Which are all about 1K
rockkilla483 2 months ago
@rockkilla483 I guess most people don't need that high of a resolution. But it would be sweet!

Thats 1280x768 Or 2560x768 in this case

@TaylorCourage thats why you buy 2 or more of the exact same displays at the same time.

@Neitzluber So the 3D with PS3 wouldn't quite work with the projector since it's not fast enough? Bummer!
