  • A good choice!-- reminds me of when my band sang it-vocally ,and good percussion!! Makes me know yhere IS hope and love on the Planet earth!!!!!!!JB

  • peace love pach and the hippi chicks those first kisses and bliss.

  • I'm 60 folks. I was blessed to live it. The Cowsills, Scott McKensie, Mama's Pappa's, Beach Boys. The 60's were more than Cream, Hendrix and Jim Morrison. That generation was rich with musical variety. I love it all.

  • yes the 60's are gone

but live on in the memories

of those of us that were there...

  • So many memories, both happy and sad. This song brings them all back.

  • I was 9 in 1969. This was an album my mom bought for my birthday Nov.17,1969. I will cherish this tune forever .It taught me love and the birds and the bees.!!!

  • @frank02111 your sharing that does remind me of being young (I was 7 in 69) and how I loved all this music, your mom has good taste! i HAD SO MANY OF THESE 45'S

  • You're pretty.

  • i love this part in dumb and dumber

  • i love this part in dumb and dumber

  • Music so beautiful, you never forget, as I remember all my childhood and good and happy that it was the 60s, it is simply something unique. Francisco MOrales

  • Raynageotte you either have a vivid imagination or else, yes you guessed it, you're on LSD.

  • @GregDrayGregDray I'm om LSD alot. But I came out of the 60's so it's normal. Most of us hippies then took some kind of drug to alter the mind. We got Happy and went to the park and saw flower girls, etc... Are values were formed then and we continue to uphold them even in todays estranged world of geeks and techies.

  • The Cowsills didn't write this song, they just recorded it.

  • This song was written by Artie Kornfield & Steve Duboff. So you might want to ask them if they took LSD when they wrote it. The Cowsills only recorded the song and of course gave it their typical harmonic treatment.

  • The Cowsills took LSD. They sing about a FLOWER GIRL. that is associated with drugs. John Lennon also sang about a FLOWER GIRL in Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. She wore "cellophane flowers." Both artists write about their hallucination of how she disappeared. Lennon sings: "With the sun in her eyes and she is gone."" The cowsills sing: "The sun broke through and she was gone." For Lennon, she will "put your head in the clouds." For the Cowsills: "she crept into your mind." Songs about LSD.

  • Raynageotte you either have a vivid imagination or else, yes you guessed it, you're on LSD!

  • @raynageotte I'm sorry, but you're way overthinking this song. Sometimes a flower is just a flower. If anything, the song is just about a nice daydream. As far as Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds goes, I thought that rumor about LSD had died out a long time ago.

  • Hello NANCY RANDOLHP♥♥♥♥♥

  • i love the harp in this song, gives it a special effect.

  • I am positive the girl in this video, the picture, is not Susan Cowsill. Does anybody dispute that? I want Susan to send me an e-mail and confirm it. It starts wesgorgunh... and you know the rest. Please e-mail me.

  • The first time I heard this song was 1968 with my Aunt Maryann, I was 5 years old,Didn't it have the sound of Thunder At the start?she asked me what I thought about it,I told her it made me think of the rain?I love this tune, with its many layers of sound.

  • the problem with stereo recording of this song is simple. it wasn't played that way on AM radio in '67 when i heard it back then. so it misses the originality of the way i recall it with nostalgia. if i have to i'll post it in the original mono the way it sounded back then on AM radio. Anyone over 50 understands what I'm talking about.

  • do somebody say me this song letter i speak spanish and i cant understand all the song´s letter does the chorus say allow the flowers bloom ? thanks

  • Flowers in her hair ( in her hair) Flowers everywhere ( everywhere). Oh, I don't know just wy; she simply caught my eye. She seemed so sweet and kind; she crept into my mind ( to my mind.. to my mind).

    From the Cowsills; 1960's;

I believe that Bill Cowsil wrote this ( RIP to Bill and Barry)

  • "I love the flower girl" : one of the top ten song hooks of all time.

  • The girl in the picture is cute!!!!! And a great song here too.

  • This has to be the best recording of this brilliant song on here , thanks . sots

  • I'm actually not all that crazy about the flower girl.

  • I have always loved this song, since the year it came out. It reminds me of a beautiful girl that I never met I only saw her picture. Hello Namcy Randolh ♥ W.H.S. 70's

  • Nice 1 bro, id av kept hold of her,shs a minta!!

  • If only you were back in my life

  • BEAUTIFUL......I was in junior high school in Los

Angeles, California when this song came out in

1967, and having just arrived from Cuba it was

one of the first songs which I understood in my newly learned English.....( Inglés )......

  • Gracias, amigo.

  • shes sooooooooooooooo cuteeeeeee

  • let me ask you something steve. are you upset because of the loss? or the good times you think were ahead of you in the future with her? the future is purely speculation. or a fantasy if you will. i suspect she was a handfull at times. steve pick out the happy memories and keep. discard the rest. love will come when it is time. and you will be the wiser to know what to look for.

  • I love this answer. Are you a psycologist or the dhali lama or someone?

  • my mother was a psychologist for the state of ohio, she was brilliant . everything i had said in the opine. was everything she had asked me,while i was licking my wounds in a failed relationship that i had a hard time getting over. she passed 3 years ago. god rest her soul. but i thought maybe that would be of help to this man. or perhaps someone else. she once told me she saw it coming . but if she took away all my pain. she would have robbed me of my chance to grow..

  • <<<<33333333 i feel for you : ((( i lost someone specail to me too. she was my love of my life, than she disapeared lied and yeah........ she was my life for a year and still is a part of me, wish things could get better but i must say goodbye.................. : ((((((

  • Thanks Steve! I love this song, and i play Lead guitar, and i will do it been playin since 1968, what a talented family!

  • 1122s, I feel ya friend, it hurts to know joy has been given up, surrendered to those whom would benefit from instilling fear in us all

  • no entiendo????

  • You will always be welcome back in my life

  • I have thought of little else.

  • Hello FG.

    I hope all is well

    suerte

  • It is sad to hear this song. I was 11 years old when I first heard it. Sad because three of the group members have passed.. Billy,Barbara(mother) and Berry.

  • Magnifica, siempre lo sera.

Hermosos coros, tonos armonias, eso la hace muy agradable al oido...

  • This a cool song back then. I was about 11years old! Love there songs.

  • Music these days has lost most of its joy. Nothing to lighten ones soul. I almost feel bad for the kids growing up to this new music. cRAP

  • new music? it's nothing but pure GARBAGE...

  • Agree entirely, but the modern world doesn't look kindly on any kind of sentimentality...did it ever?

  • damn!! excellent quality on this one..thanks for posting it.

  • best time to be a teenager 60s were so cool to watch hear music evolve

  • ya ok good

  • This was a or still is a great song!!Great harmonies. What a great summer this was! What ever happened to summer song concept? I had my first love, and bought my first guitar in Queens,NY.The same place Johnny Ramone bought his mosrite.

  • How I miss the 60's. Real tunes, fun times.

  • I wished i had lived in the 60's. I really love all the songs from that time and the music from back then had real meanings and feelings. Not like the songs from right now. You were really lucky!

  • There is nothing to stop you from having at least some of the 60's today, Howl4life. Put some of those older songs on an MP3 player, gather up some of your friends, and head to the nearest park.

Once there, sit on the grass, turn the music up loud, and talk about how beautiful the world is in some ways and can be in others.

Just don't be too surprised when you see a few smiles on some of the older people walking by as we remember doing what you're now doing.

    Peace & Love, my friend.

  • I'm grateful for your comment. That is a very good idea and it is never to late to appreciate some things in life. Thanks!

  • Yep, you can do that or bring along a guitar or two, play some old folks songs, and watch and see what happens when people start to gather. It's happened with a group of some friends of mine.

  • 70's music was quite excellent as well, then it started going downhill.

  • YEP.

  • This song was a hit in 1967

  • Hello Flower Girl, I hope that You are OK.

Suddenly the sun broke through - I turned around she was gone...............but I knew she had made me happy.

    Thinking of You.

  • Steve, I know how much this song can mean. I had relationship once and this was our song too. After the breakup, I saw the Cowsills sing the song live ... it's a wonderful song.

    Good luck!

  • The songs of the 60's era are about love. I'd like to see more of it, better than gangster rap-sings about murder.

  • Any chance You may get back together?

  • We need more artists like the Cowsills. Sending messages to the world, being an artist is an honor, and all of us have a song inside of us.

  • Who is this pretty girl ? Was she a member of the Cowsills ?

    I love the song !!!

  • how true onlyONEroy you pot heads get a grip not every song is about pot.

  • I have no recollection, nor adequate hearing, to hear in this song any lyric as 'she seemed so sweet and tight'. Perhaps some people put their own words (and meanings) into the words of a song to suit them!

    Shalom and peace schaelkens.

    Hope You enjoy listening.

  • she seemed so sweet & kind...perhaps?

  • good grief you guys.... this is the cowsills here. like the mother would ever let them sing about pot. they dont come any straighter than this family. you pot heads are hopeless.

  • every = everyone

  • Thanks for your comments and support it's nice to know you appreciate this music

  • Yeah, we do appreciate this song!

But it seems every has lost the meaning of it!

"Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.

I love the flower girl, I just don't know why, she simply caught my eye. She seemed so sweet and tight"

Isn't tight a synonyme for wasted???

I just guess some people don't understand the hidden messages from the sixties and beyond. They simply just don't!

  • he is saying '' she seems so sweet and kind''

  • I dont know how old you are but in the '60s rock music was changing alot (and still is evan today) and one form of rock in the late 60s was called psychedelic rock alot of the songs written back then were written in '' a stream of consciousness styel'' to keep it interesting The rain, The park, and other Things was such a song that was written in that style.'' But her reallity was just a dream to me''. Would anyone concord with me on this.

  • steve what was you thinking go getta back man

  • This song is about weed. Nobody seems to know? hehe. They couldn't sing about it back then, so they used codes! But this song is defenitly about POT! Pothead or not! Know your time, I guess? Is this song from your time then?

  • My view is simple. Anybody can attatch any significance they want to any particular song (if it makes them feel better). While they are doing that, I usually just sit back and enjoy the music! Whatever floats your boat.

    Shalom my friend.

  • just take the lyric "my friend"

  • Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds from the Beatles is about LSD, they didn't put it out like that either, now did they?

This is about weed, believe it or not! shalom

  • This song is NOT about marijuana - nor is 'Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds' about LSD.

John Lennon, who was EXTREMELY honest in his admission to all sorts of vices - including LSD - said at the time, and years later, that 'Lucy...' was about a colorful drawing that his son, Julian, had drawn for him in 1966/67. He NEVER recanted this story, always insisting that this was the absolute truth. Since he freely admitted to taking LSD hundreds of times, he would have no reason to lie.

  • Can you tell us what these codes are in this song?

The writers' track record suggests they turned out non subliminal pop songs, and rather good ones at that. Certainly I can't pick any pot messages.

  • Pot heads think everysong is about pot. It comes with the territory.

  • AGREED!

  • So you say it isn't? OR what is it you're trying to say? It doesn't make sense at all.

What comes with territory? POT ??? songs???

IF you weren't this dumb, you would declare before people could ask. And don't try to tell me pot comes with territory. You're just too dumb to start a conflict. I see that now, now you said this.

  • Good luck, Steve. She's a beauty!

  • If I were you, I would get round straight away and make up. If you don't, you will live to regret it. I did!

  • Attrctive girl.....how did you fuck that up man?????

  • you are sweet!
