I drove the original M915 with the semi automatic piece of crap the called a Transmission. I was with the 76th Trans Co out of Primasens. We were part of the 53rd Battalion. 1980-81... later on my second tour I was in the 503rd Trans Co in Heidelberg, part of the 26th Support Group 82-85. Had M915's there until we traded them for the M931 Tractors... Hated them.
Oh, and back then the MOS was 64C, not 88M, not sure when that changed but it had to be after 85 when I got out.
@beerrunner81 Your an idiot you know that. Its for Safety and its an Army regulation. And just so you know I was a civilian truck driver and now I have a real job.
The reason the bumper no's were on the drivers side doors is...Years before you were there we used to go down a 25 k area on the bahn between Geisen and frankfurt....with cameras. Sand bags on bumpers ans ski or holloween masks stopped the GP from Id'ing the drivers when the polizie forwarded them when the overhead speed cameras were tripped.

And if the army drivers make it to the world of trucking, OTR. Don't honk the horn when your backing up at the truckstop.
