this phone is not great at all the performance is really bad i just got this phone 3 months ago i had it replaced because it would shut down on its on sometimes it would even turn on and now my new devour is starting to do the same thing i hate this highly recommend you don't get this phone

Have they updated the phone to android 2.1? Or do they still sell it on 1.6?

If so, does having 1.6 instead of 2.1 have any disadvantages?

@likeewoahhh95 i wouldn't say disadvantages, but 2.1 is just a more updated version, which means that if you have 1.6, your missing on some maybe important features, making the android phone not be at its 'fullest', and i'm not completely sure, but i think the Devour is still on 1.6

Uhm, isn't it the other way around? That in the US, carriers only allow exclusive contracts for phones to be promoted on their networks? AT&T grabbed the one for the backflip, VZW grabbed the one for the Devour. At the end of the day, it is a crappy situation for the consumers and with the iPhone this crap started to come to Germany as well...
