  • JUST MISSED!!! "Zorba The Greek" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1965/66, it had entered the charts on Dec. 25th, 1965!!!!!!

  • Now I try to study this trumpet part on my Conn 22B. It's hellisch. How on earth did Herb do this?

  • Vivo en Tijuana y me encanta saber que desde hace mucho habia cultura en la ciudad. !!!!!!!!!

  • Yo creci con estas canciones eran las favoritas de mi papa. Muchas gracias por subirlas

  • Thanks a lot John1948SixA, I had no idea that Herp Alpert made also a version of "Zorba the Greek".

With your kind permission I am adding the video to my favorites :)

  • I love the lighthearted airyness of the music.. Was great stuff for hangin out

  • Gotta love 'em. Long live Herb & the TJB ! !

  • Herb is a of Russian Jewish Heritage, much like Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles...he'd saw a Bullfight in Tijuana, and loved the Marachi band that played there,so,he'd asked his friend Jerry Moss, who, with Alpert, formed A&M Records, after their first names,to ask Sol Lake to write in this tradition, and PRESTO! "The Lonely Bull (El Solo Toro)" was born!

  • My kids & I danced to this until we dropped. I love Herb & Lani Alpert. Herb was my manager with Lou Adler & they produced all of our first recordings. He is one of the greatest humanitarians in America. Google: Don Drowty Project Touch.Com

& check out some of our 35 free programs for special children sponsored by Herb & all at A & M. We have been volunteers for 50 years. Don Drowty/Dante & The Evergreens. Type it in on you tube.

Lots of love for Herb & Lani.

    Live long & prosper
