  • =,)

    WE ARE SAM0A

  • She sang this exact song with Jerome Grey in Apia in October 1987 at the Tusitala Hotel for the first South Pacific Pageant......love love it...thanks for sharing!

  • love u Melveen. Beautifully done and awesome voice!

  • Great Vid by the way!!!

  • Who are we to say that God doesn't work in mysterious ways? White man or not, In the Bible days, they believed Jesus as King of Kings n Lord of Lords. Now whether God wanted to send a white man over seas to preach the Gospels wouldn't make a difference if it were a black man. Gods word brings no hatred or evil but truth, love, humility that some just cant cope with. Trust me, it isn't easy to love but if Jesus can, we can too. Im still a POLYNESIAN that loves his culture N loves my Lord too!

  • AMEN!!! lolz

  • LOL thanks tienetaala96!

  • i meet her before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gawd! i think you meant to say that you "met" her before...

  • I saw this lady at this salon a couple days ago

  • That is not evil or wrong at all. In a huge way, we still do give respects to the elements in our environment and we all know that our respect for our land is a very important part of our way of life. Your beliefs are yours and there is nothing wrong with it. I sometimes think that one god created everything we just gave him different names.....Maybe. Who knows? Maybe he had to come in different forms to teach different minds?

  • Malo lava! I miss my home and my people.

  • im sorry brother, but isnt that why palagis take over?...when we're humble and walk away? have some pride and feed the fire uso because when it goes out, all we have left is ashes! faamalie pe afai ua e ita...ua nao sina talatala atu ae le o se faafiapoto.

  • What fire?! That fire is hate. I have pride and my pride is in the teachings of my culture. Although we are known as fierce throughout the world, our culture tells us to be humble about it. We will lose our culture if we dont teach it correctly. If you want to win this (as do I) you will have to do it in a manner that will prove efficient and permanent. O le ita e vave. It can come and go quickly and leave us here with permanent results we dont want.

  • malo, great thoughts! my main focus is palagis and how they've used christianity to muscle out our own beliefs. we used to worship the elements and everything that provides us with means of living. why is that so evil and wrong? im just saying, where do we go to find out about these now? its like you said 99% gone. i know our culture is strong. we practice it everyday here in samoa. e le o se ita, o le lafolafo e fetufaai ai manatu.

  • im with you on that one brother, haoles dont get it.....

  • love Melveen. Such a beautiful soul. Thanks Robyn!

  • the triangle is symbol that represents satanic culture that dates way back into the days egypt...the people of the sun is the worship of the sun and satan was the son of the morning star (the sun)...the symbol of the sun represents a false god in babylon.

  • good thing those gods and beliefs were brought to our islands by palagis...i still worship tagaloa...and guess what? hes not jewish

  • the palagis were instruments of God to serve Him...the palangis spreaded the gospel is true, but, the devil was also on the ship controling certain false christian palangis...u see, u must have an open mind about how Satan works and how God works...ok, my lost fwen.

  • instruments of god? but whos god? their god. wow you've really opened your mind to palagis...these are the same god believing palagis that brought us the flu and other diseases, killed many of our ancestors...religion has also taken many of our traditions away if not have restrained them to their likings...i like this conversation...hit me back fwen

  • u gotta stoopid crying...Jesus is the focus here, NOT DA FLU, U FOOL!

  • you mean for all our people that died from flu jesus, did nothing....wuts explanation "oh its gods plan"...that is always the christian excuse...wut has jesus done for our people?

  • I somewhat agree with you on this though. But we have to be humble. That is a very strong part of our culture-our loto maualalo.

  • humble about what my friend? our culture was working and still is. humility is a human emotion and is part of all cultures.

  • Being humble is more of a state of mind than an emotion. This "humble" state of mind is not encouraged in all cultures as it is in ours and few others. It can be there for them but they do not embrace it as a way of life. Our Fa'asamoa is our way of life and being humble is a big part of it. Let people do what they do and say what they say. If Jesus offends you then just be humble and walk away. Dont continue to feed the fire. And when did the Samoan people die from the Flu?

  • And which god of Samoa do you serve? Tagaloa? Pele? Which one?

  • sorry pele is from hawaii. tell me why you love jesus so much?

i worship t-shirts, my job, cars and nike....everyday i pray to these things for things that i want and they give me the same answer jesus does....NOTHING!

  • Pele IS a part of the Samoan culture. Why are you even arguing when you do not know what you are talking about? A matala lou utu, e valea uma lava tagata i lo oe luma. Aua e te fia Falealili fua. Tago e fa'avalea le Hawaii ae aua e te fia poto mai le itu lea o Samoa. Ua ou malie i au tala. Fa Soifua.....Did you understand that....tourist?

  • Fassaleleaga....the people of Hawai'i was truly a paradise-they never got colds, flu, diseases-at the beginning just before the coming of Cook, it was estimated on all known Hawaiian islands the pop. was approx.300-500k-at the turn of century,it had diminished to about 100k....we are truly an endangered species.....took the land, overthrew its established govt, spread their diseases that killed off nearly 2/3 of the pop.- all in the name of God.....

  • a jewish god at that...were our polynesian gods really bad? to haoles/palagis, yes they were...but who are they to tell us what to worship and how...honestly. in samoa, god comes first, then family...well, i would rather give my life up for anybody in my family than god, i mean the guy is jewish he aint gonna understand me...lol

  • they just dont get it Faasa-

Cook didnt even get it, thought we were a bunch of undiscipline,thoughtless,savages-

all he had to do was LISTEN to our poly music, how the morning dew kissed the valley of Waimea, or how the sun greets the sweet land of Samoa-

this is whats its all about- how the worshipping of all things around us,showed us how precious the life of the land is-and how our "Gods" played a major role in keeping it a paradise-

    ....until they sent their"God"....

  • I do not think that the main focus for you is so much religion as it is culture. And in most cases religion is the culture. However, although our old religions are 99% gone, our culture is, for the most part, still there. We need to protect what we have now. If we fight over what is lost, we will lose sight of what we have and lose that too. Believe in who you want, but also believe in your people, we are still here uso. And for those of us who practice the culture, we must teach what we know.

  • I am going to practice what I preach and leave you to your own. Whoever you worship does not matter to me. Tu'u ia!

  • oi se uso..faamalie oe pe afai ua e totamai i lenei mataupu...o samoa e eseese lava ona tala..e ese tala o savaii, e ese foi tala o upolu ae e i ai mea e tutusa ai...ia e le o se fia falealili foi...a ua e iloa sina mea ia lufilufi mai ae le o le ita....sei faamatala po o fea e sau ai pele...ta fia iloa??

  • O lau tala ma le mo'i - Ua ou sese i au tala ia Pele. Ae ou te sa'a i a'u tala ia o le a lafo atu. O taua e uso.
